Temperature resistance is all about insulation on ark. The ghillie gives a bonus to heat insulation and so does going underwater but in extreme temperatures it might not be enough. If that's the case you can counter it by putting more points in fortitude or getting higher quality ghillie that has a bigger bonus to heat insulation.

It's a bug or a so called design choice from the devs. The surface drops on Ab don't have the beacons so you have to search for them without them on ASA. I dont know of anything that can get the beacons to show back up unfortunately.

Honestly the tether mechanic was one of the main reasons I started setting up servers for me and my friends.

yeah you can just install the dedicated server version of ark on the host's machine and they just need to load that up, then you both connect to it just like a real server. when you start the server once you will see where all the files are in the server folder so you will know where to copy your save and stuff.

That can happen with pretty much any baby tbh. Some critters are more prone to it than others though. It's reason it's recommended to get the babies to move occasionally while they are growing to prevent this issue.

Like I said it sounds like a server issue unfortunately. Low pop unofficial for friends and family, can be quiet at times but they are usually more stable than officials.

Plus since I'm out of the way in middle of the ocean I don't get other players randomly rendering the base while babies are growing which contribute to this type of issue.

Issue is linked to dinos rendering before structures. Kinda like how critters on wander can escape your base thanks to this.

Hello my BF is on pc playing ark by using steam. When he start the game he gets the connexion failed to mods service. He’s not playing in any server, we play together in local and I don’t have that issue (playing pc by steam too). Does anyone know why he gets the issue and how he can fix it ?

Steam has probably used another of your drives (not the one the game is installed on) to do the patching. But now that drive is to full.

Hey there I have a 4-man tribe on unofficials on psn, and a random player with game name "EvasiveTroll" and PSN name Sivevea joined our tribe, claimed babies from the gestation chamber, and took them to random places to starve; destroyed our biogrinder; and destroyed a bunch of metal walls, doors, etc.

Our admin was on chat but on a different server in the cluster at the time and therefore could not have accidentally invited this person or kick them yet (who, by the name, is clearly up to no good for sport). We have since kicked and upgraded all real tribe members to admin status and set what we can to admin-only. But this doesn't prevent certain amounts of damage being done if this happens again, such as theft, starving, disabling power, etc.

How the hell did this guy join us? and more importantly, any way of preventing it in the future?
(Note: we have no known access to the server owner, they are afk/unannounced so can't report it to them... been here a month with no contact info)

So I am trying to mutate ravagers, and I have two different weight mutations, but they are the same level, could I combine both those mutations to get 4 or do I need to breed up the two levels and get another weight mutations to get four mutations that way

Mutations are absolutely independent from each other no matter where they are or how they affect level etc.
you can only ever pass on a „single“ mutation stack from either parent but never merge / combine or fuse them.
So if you have like 2 different dinos with mutations in weight like let’s say 40 and 35 you can only ever pass on that single number to an offspring. The baby will always have either 35, 40 or whatever else the other parent had as a mutation count but never 75 for example.

I type in "lava lair" (a skin pack I bought) and it tells me there are no such skins. Cause it doesn't search the folder names or the mod descriptions, just the object names on the individual skins.

So I just have to SQUINT at all the skin folders looking for it. But there's no guarantee it has loaded or even will load

Eventually I learn that that pack has a skin called "obsidian", so if I search for obsidian I can check if it's loaded. But if I want to find the other skins from the pack I can't navigate to them VIA obsidian, finding that skin just confirms that I should squint at the folders.

I hate it.

Was on astreos map, world teleported with the Zeppelin, and during the world teleport, my tribe mate and their drakling randomly died. The log doesnt say what they died to at all, and when he went to get his stuff back, it was 20 thousand miles outside the map..

Sorry it sounds like they got eaten by the world barrier which means the stuff got instantly deleted. The only way to get his stuff back will be a server roll back.

I had similar thing happen to me when teleporting a oasisaur with a wyvern sat on its back. The wyvern got deleted mid teleport. It seems like it's really risky for players or tames to get teleported while standing on a platform.

Definitely gonna keep that in mind, to not teleport on anything considered a structure in the future 😭😭 I feel so bad for my husband (my tribe mate). I teleported just fine home, for some reason he was murdered in cold blood by the world barrier. We were trying to tame a rock elemental, which is why we took out the Zeppelin.
Not sure how else to get one now, bc you need to use cannons for it, and they are on the opposite side of the map from us

I'd recommend looking up the golem trap builds which allow you to get 100% taming effectiveness on them. Usually the last hit knocks them out and the explosion wrecks the effectiveness but players have figured out builds to prevent it from happening. So just scout one out, build the trap near to it and lure it in to it.

Playing on PS5 and I usually play on my buddy's Nitrado server.

Loaded in today, then left to get food for about two hours. Came back and now no servers are loading. server page says "No sessions found!" Regardless of whether im looking for official, unofficial, or non-dedicated. I can host a non-dedicated and my friends can join, but I cant find any servers and if I accept an invite to any server the game won't load.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried syncing my save data, playing with different server settings, restoring license, checking for update, etc. All 6 of my friends can load into the server completely fine.

Looking for any advice besides uninstalling and re-installing the game. I'll do it if I have to in the end, but that means my entire weekend off is shot 😔

I don’t believe you can tame orange or red. You used to be able to let them attack you and then run into water and it reset their status. I think that was patched a long time ago though. Like a year.

you can try to ensure default survivor items are enabled and then eat your implant, that sometimes gives them. that's in advanced from the main menu settings, not the start game settings

I did, yes. I used the dino wipe command and afterwards I could see a massive jump in the level of dinos around me, but still nothing over level 88 or so. I didn't do much exploring that day though and I closed the game. The next day I did more exploring hoping to find some level 150s but the max level dinos I found along the Southern beaches were 2 level 112s and 1 tek dino that was 120. Not sure if the location also plays a role and I need to go further inland or North to find higher level spawns.

5, and yes. wipe is optional, since stuff wont spawn unless you are nearby

if you see stuff with levels in multiples of 5, it works. level range is 1-30 * difficulty

I can't submit a bug report in this case. I've just submitted a server report where I've done my best to detail the issue there. Please if anyone knows the magic trick to get rid of these old structures so that new outposts can be completed ... Do tell us all how to get rid of them!

I've seen those too, but this for example will cause a structure to spawn for a new outpost deep underground or within an old outpost structure making the mission incompletable. Not even a tek rail gun can seem to get through.

If I could post screenshots I'd do so here, and I'd have probably more than 20 examples on my Lost Colony server alone.

Only realistic way to get rid of them that I can think of will be with admin commands unfortunately. The Better Outpost mod also has a ini setting that helps prevent it from happening. Needless to say neither of these options will help if you're on a official server. ☹️

Are you talking about the yellow upward arrow buff icon from alphas or the red mate boost heart? There's other buffs/de buffs wilds can do too each other like the mammoths roar that you might be referring too.

Hey, I've been breeding my first rex army lately and noticed that the food calculator tools for the troughs don't align with the game (ASE). Yesterday I left my dinos with full troughs and the calculator said that the food would be enough and that the dinos wouldn't eat all the food, but it would spoil. (haven't changed spoil times) That means that my stacks of 40 raw meat, which should spoil after 40 minutes each should last for over 26 hours. It's been at most 20 since I left them. When I joined the server today, the troughs were full with spoiled meat with 1h spoil timers (in some troughs there was one stack which had a lower spoil timer). I had one Rex die and the logs say he died when I joined. Am I correct in thinking that the game calculates how much dinos have eaten and how much food is spoiled when I join the game? Is that also when it decides to spoil the food (the 1h spoil timer on full 100x spoiled meat stacks)? If so, do the feeding troughs actually have a 1x spoilage multiplier when I'm away?

Also, in one of the rexes I had some raw meat which hadn't spoiled entirely. I guess that meat did get the 4x spoilage multiplier

Sorry I can't remember the exact time raw meat would last in a trough since I've had increased stack sizes for years now. I just remember considering it risky to leave babies with just raw meat for more than 14 hours unattended. I do tend to be overly cautious though.

My usual routine on default settings was to restack the meat before and after bed and same with work on default settings. That way you minimise spoilage.

the wiki seems to think 4x, the spoiltime when I look at the tooltip is 40minutes (normal is 10min) so that aligns. Food normally spoils one at a time and raw meat has a stack size of 40, 40x40=1600 minutes which is 26,67 hours, I left for max 20 hours, from around 18:00 to 13:00 (restacked the meat before I left)

You can also use cooked meat instead which has a longer spoil timer. The babies eat more of it since it gives less food but you'll lose more to spoilage.

Im not sure what fixed it either but i it did end up fixing after a while, just make sure you have no mods, try keeping it deleted for a day or two or try turning it off completely while the games deleted then redownload it

Alotta the mod problems tend to just simply be the game itself so waiting might end up being your only option

that tends to break things. if you only play online, erasing your save data entirely may help, but it can get stuck desynced in some manner

Does anyone know if Ascended has anything similar to Evolved's "Dino Hunger Meter" mod? Basically the mod made it so that wild carnivores which had recently eaten had their aggro ranges greatly reduced. It made the game so much better because the creatures acted like wild animals instead of just being engaged in an eternal death battle. I haven't seen anything like it for Ascended so I was curious if anyone knows of such a mod?

Have you done a beehive wipe? (A dino wipe will take out the bees but not the hive structures so you need to do the hives separately). I've found that helped me when I had an overspawn of (mostly) empty hives.

Feed it a little food, then cryo it. Depending on how many food points it has, it might die right away. I usually put them in cryo hospital for bit after podding to make sure they get health back quickly.
