damage has zero effect on how much you harvest, it just means you harvest faster (break node in less hits)

the node has HP, and gives resources for every 10% HP damage (or some other amount) done to it. if the server uses "unclamped" harvest health, you can get extra resources if the final hit overkills the node

if it does not use that, you get the same number of harvests regardless of damage

since HP and harvest frequency varies per node, there is no specific damage amount that maximizes unclamped overkill

Hey community, this may have been answered before but I'm stumped as to what is going on. On Official Lost Colony server, trying to hatch embryos from an incubator (I've hatched my fair share) and for 3 babies in a row I can't hatch them from my incubator. I ported to my Tribes main base, put the embyros in our shared incubator and they hatched just fine...what am I missing?

For some context I've built a base around an existing in game structure and the incubator is butted up against said structure. Could this be the issue? Do I need to be a certain distance from in game structures?

My Official Astraeos server, from January 5th up to now, has been experiencing crashes/outages very frequently and at a 2-3hr interval. It has not changed and the server was not this bad within the past six months. There has been an uptick of players, recently hitting 25+ players during the weekend. However, the crashes have been happening a week after Winter Wonderland ended and have been consistent. I've asked some players who know more about ARK than I do, and they suspect it might have to do with someone or some tribe on the server doing an exploit/duping since the server specifically goes down every 2hrs.

has to be CPU bottlenecked (why is a mistery, it should be better) so @noble crow you should be safe to raise settings (also set textures to epic, since you have 16GB of VRAM)
i also recomend enabling FSR under the frame generation option in the menu, as well as FSR itself under anti ailiasing and then you should enable the driver override for FSR upscaling and ML frame gen to get a better visual experience

Have you double checked driver updates? I'll admit the unreal 5.5 update hurt my performance badly, but with a 14900k and a 3070 I'm still pulling a good FR at 1080p and slightly below medium settings in 90% of scenarios, the only times I've run into people on my cluster having issues like you describe are due to drivers being missing or needing an update

@noble crow I had huge problems with UE5 games until I updated my BIOS (AMD CPU) I was getting wild graphical errors and full system crashes due to CPU overheat. If you look at the recent BIOS updates for your setup you may see a lot of AMD fixes. If you're doing a full OS wipe every 6 months, a quick BIOS update is worth a shot.

I am trying to enable max difficulty in my already created world but the dinos do not spawn in increments of 5 even after using "destroyallwildinos", would I need to restart completely in order to get max difficulty to work?

No real benefit to leveling food and water on your character. Oxygen can be worth leveling a little if you spend a lot of time underwater on a server and there's a real risk of crashing since it will give you more time to log back in before your character dies. Scuba tank and tek helm stop working while you're offline unfortunately.

Depends on the egg and the biome you live in. Some eggs like wyvern ones require a crazy high temp so will need several air cons to raise the insulation enough to incubate them. If electronics are an issue you can also use multiple standing torches or campfires to incubate them but this will require more micromanagement since temperature fluctuates through the day/night cycle. Also remember air cons and heat sources have very limited range so they need to be really close to the egg to be effective.

OK I don't know if ones available on ASE but on ASA we have a mod that can adjust the weight of levels for wilds sp can have them mostly high or even distribution.

All story maps on evolved and ascended are weighted so dinos have a higher chance of spawning at low level. The non cannon maps like center, ragnarok, valguero etc tend to be weighted more for high level critters. Its one of the reasons they are more popular than story maps.

Most of the game is balanced for level 5 it's what official servers use to.

But best option is to see if there's a mod to adjust the level weights so your more likely to see high levels.

Will make caves harder but taming and breeding will be easier and will level a lot faster.

Only other way to see mostly high levels is to move to a none story map unfortunately.

sometimes its only their saddle and not the dino. And often its both.

Usually it's a issue with amount rendered so anything that boosts FPS helps (turning off tame names, fog, clouds etc) but considering it's a bug there's a good chance it won't help in this case.

I just had a consumption of 1300 blood packs for a Juveline Desmodus while I was offline for 15 minutes. When I'm online (render range), it's only 10-15 in the same amount of time. The problem has been going on for almost 1.5 months – on populated servers, it's not a big deal – someone always renders the base when flying past, etc. But on small servers, Desmodus are not breedable like this.

I raised Desmodus with blood—alongside Bloodstalkers. Not so much with meat.

It may be that the mechanics of blood ensure that the heal pool goes to 100% (you can see that too). But food also goes up.

And of course you're right, nothing is fed while nothing is being rendered. The mechanics of eating were changed shortly after ASA was launched – less RAM consumption because unrendered bases/animals etc. are put into stasis. But animals still need food FOR this time. As soon as the animal is rendered, the consumption of the offline time is recalculated. And there is still a consumption of 1300 blood packs for 15 minutes, which is extremely off. While rendering, it's not even 15 blood packs in the same time.

Of course, I already tested with meat (because I forgot that blood packs are better) – here, too, my Desmos died. But I don't know the consumption now. 1-2 hours offline and there was at least 2000 meat in the Maeguna – I don't know if it was gone after that. But even 2000 meat for max. 2? That's intense. 2 Gigas/Carchas with Maeguana support eat approx. 1000 raw meat in 12 hours... how much 10,000 raw meat does ONE Desmodus need? 🙂 But that was also the experience from ASE: Blood > Raw Meat.

As I said, there are 2 bug reports on this. Dododex also mentions this bug. btw Dododex. Entry from 2022: "Babies take bloodpacks as food when raising." - not raw meat.

Yes, there is a cooldown. I know. I divided the 1300 blood packs between 3 Maeguanas (for one Juveline) Desmo). The CD applies per inventory. But that's not the problem. The problem is consumption. The cooldown is an issue when you have multiple Desmodus but only one Maeguana (ASE: Maewing). They eat when they are rendered – possibly already very hungry. But then there's a CD – the second one might be okay... but the third Desmo etc. could starve. So I used more Maewings on ASE. That way, the Desmo could access Maewing 2 in Maewing 1 during the CD. Starving? With this method = 0

It's just that this current bug means I can't even raise ONE Desmo with multiple Maeguanas... no matter how much blood and raw meat he has in his inventory. And that's the bug... reported at the end of December – nothing has happened yet 🙁

There's no specific number that you need since different dinos benefit from different stats. You just need adults with the stats that you want, then you breed the stats into one line

At your level, staying in a tek pod when you're offline will get you to about 125 fairly easily. After that, OSDs are pretty much the only thing that will give you significant xp to level up. The easiest boss that gives tek grenades is alpha megapithecus I believe so I'd recommend going for that boss

Guessing you're on ASE since you're talking about tek dinos. WC have stopped working on ASE so wrong discord to ask for fixes, its the aquatica devs you need to ask. If you're using the costume skin for the tek giga you change the colours by applying dye to the skin.

Hey guys, all my base items and dinos except stone and metal structures have been demolished from an official server. I was online and active two days ago and all my dinos were full on their food bar. It’s an odd one and I think I know the answer here but have I any hope of submitting a ticket? if an admin is available, usually killing their player character fixes it. if no admin you can drag their body into the water

PlayStation 5 mod won’t download.

Troubleshooting Included:
Disabled Dynamic Downloading in settings
Removed all mods (Worked on last few events)
Tried downloading from mod list.
Deleted all games and media players so only Ark existed.
850 gigs available on PS5
Restarted client 5 times nothing.
Restored licenses
Restarted client an additional 5 times.

None worked.

Uninstalled Ark.
Redownloaded Client and All Maps Fresh.

Still unable to download.

Tried restarting client an additional 5 times.

Synced Cloud Data at the end and was able to download it! Must have overwritten the cloud save.

Steps Id take now to try fixing it:

1. Go to settings and disable dynamic downloading
2. Go to mods list and delete all mods.
3. Close game.
4. Select game with options and choose sync cloud save.
5. Load game and attempt to download mod.

If it doesn’t work:

1. Delete Ark
2. Redownload Ark
3. Sync Cloud Save
4. Load Game and try downloading.

The render bug, I noticed happening only happening to dodos about 3 weeks ago and when I asked everyone said they had no problems, then a week later the casteroides and megatherium were bugged along with some saddles. It wasn't until half my older dinos were bugged until other people started posting pics of unrendered creatures then wc did something about it, but now I fall through the solwyn ice bridge like it's not even there

Grappling hook can real in a death bag. There is also a perk in the skill tree that lets you use the force for like, 60 seconds.

So I recently ran into an issue. Every time I try to run LC my game crashes, unfortunately its due to being in close proxy to the city. I have no backup saves (I keep forgetting to make them.) so I load in to where I initially crashed and am unable to get out of that area. Griffin is really fast, snow owl/desmodus are fast, and I think Dreadmare is fastest of all. Its glide on a SLIGHT incline is just as fast as a full downward glide. someone did a comparison/race vid of all flyers if you wanna find that
