But I'm reading conflicting reports that either dinos starve to death whole preserved but pods don't lose charge. And others are saying the opposite that dinos don't starve but the cryo loses charge. Astraeos sever crash constantly because the sever hosting the Astraeos map can't handle the stress caused by the excessive amounts of structure and dinos of players. They need to put stricter limits on Astraeos, for now cryo and demolish stuff and try to move off the map

You say you can’t push a game to its limits but clearly you have not been playing this game very long since this has ALWAYS been an issue. Constant crashes and lagging is exactly what these devs are known for

Maybe they shouldn’t release maps and expect people to pay for them if they can’t even remotely run correctly. We’ve had MULTIPLE large tribes pack up their bases and leave for rag. Or even went back to their old servers and it still performs terribly.

have you tried deleting your gameusersettings.ini? before deleting, copy all of the minimap marker info as those are your waypoints. Delete GUS start game (will generate a new default one) close the game and add the marker info back in, i did this after the 5.5 update and it fixed it for me and never came back

I think nobody told you this in the end, but there's a longstanding bug with Ascension (which is what happens when you beat certain bosses--it uploads your character). It will delete your inventory sometimes, and can lose your character too, so it's important to quickly stuff your inventory onto one of the tames you have with you after defeating any Ascension boss, and if you're on singleplayer keep backup saves.

I know, ammonites are seldomly used, but nonetheless if you use them or need them, im genuinely not sure where and if they spawn non-buggingly, as for tusos, they havent ever spawned far enough into the war for me to not be able to kill them, as long as you have depending on stats and multiplier, 2-3 sharks, several xiph, or a good tuso/mosa you should have an issue, wven a high level spino is good for that, but i dont recommend spino if youre on pvp, because tuso trench is popular

And if youre on astraeos, i CANNOT speak for that map as im not buying the dlc,

People on console.. is Official plagued with constant crashes in more densely player populated areas?

I play on a modded cluster and the crashing is abysmal. Most crashing seems to occur while player structures are streaming in and out, so flying anywhere is a life and death gamble. Once I see two behemoth gates load in I turn around and land so I can pray to my gods. Hunting for the new shark today was a nightmare with crashes.

Their mods aren't insane, no superfluous 3 GB custom structure pack or anything like that. Just some qol and a few cosmetics and a few tames. I know WC isn't wholly responsible for modded servers, but to a certain extent I feel this game should be a bit more resilient by this point... especially with all the nickel and dime'ing going on with mods and expansions.

(And yes, I use about 10 console commands that don't solve the issue, only maybe slightly lessen it)

Hey all! New to the server because I dont know where else to look. I've been hosting a dedicated server thru my main rig for a few weeks now and have had no issues connecting with friends and having a great time. Recently I got the parts in to build my old pc back up and copied all the files over to it for the server and started hosting it from there. After an hr of battleing what ended up being a direct x issue the server booted and all was well with my friend he was able to join, had low ping, everything seemed good. After swaping to my main pc and trying to join i was unable to find the server. My main pc is run thru ethernet and the other is using wifi. My ports are on the right pc and I have tried everything I know how to do. I really hope someone here has had this issue and has a fix for it.

2 things i can think of is that you are blocked by firewall on either of the pc.
i would check the ports that the old rig and the new rig use, i don't think they can be the same (portforwarding issues on the router that you don't seem to have)

I’ve been playing for a while now and I think I’ve found a solution. In my case, it helped when I changed the display mode from Windowed Fullscreen to Fullscreen — the CPU then runs normally and the game runs smoothly on the highest settings. oh, im not having any problems (i havent even playing the game recently)
i was just asking if youve updated your BIOS since you have a 14th gen intel chip, and those CPU's require a BIOS update to prevent them from degrading
(since they run at too close to the sun by default) and degradation just means that eventually your CPU will become unstable and your games will start crashing

I’ve been having a bug for a long time now with the Nvidia driver and Ark.

When I start my PC and launch the game, it crashes after a minute or two.

I noticed that updating or reinstalling the driver (even if it’s already up to date) temporarily fixes the issue, but only until I restart my PC or don’t launch Ark for several hours.

I’ve tried several things but nothing seems to work. Do you have any ideas?

Have you chose a server company, like nitrado? If not nitrado is probably best or second best option i would assume, as for the hibernation thing, make sure your trough has food when you log off

Youre options are close or on zero, most mods for preventing of hibernation dont work

self-host is the best. if its ASA then you can just use the normal server files.
if its ASE then you have to host from a game client so only one server at once but still overall better then singleplayer

as long as the PC is even somewhat current it should be fine. RAM and CPU are the only things servers need and drive speed

extremely slow loading is a bug on the latest. the game has been very broken since the dlc launched. switch to the preaquatica branch in steam's beta selection if you are playing offline (and most servers are on that, anyway)

Just as an FYI to everyone with premium mods not allowing you to use them ( LIKE CKF's Keep tier ) despite owning them. The game is not currently automatically running the validation check when you launch it so to force it to check go to the mod's page in the game's mod browser under your installed mods. That will ping EPIC's api for steam users to see if you own a license. I don't know about if other platforms are having this issue but this is what works on PC steam at least.

When in game, pause the game like you are going to exit, officials in ase say command line access is disabled as in no you cannot use it, that might be why you get kicked.

Anyone had this happen? When I transfer to another map on my own cluster, more often than not, my character gets stuck in limbo. I can't interact with any dinos or structures until I restart the server or exit the game. Sometimes my character even gets deleted in the switch to the other map. If I sit there and do nothing, I eventually get kicked offline. Never had this problem until Rag came out...

Everything is updated and I'm not using any mods or weird settings.

If you're playing ARK Ascended, the only way to change an imprint is to use a gigaraptor once per imprint cycle. If it wants care from another user (Like if you got the baby from someone else) there's nothing you can do about it because the baby is not imprinted to you to begin with. Just grow the baby and then breed it to get another with the stats of the parent that you can imprint on

Hello so i just now started playing on steam ark and i bought all the maps on my brothers account but then i made my own so we wouldn't have to fight over one account so we made a family group so i could still play the game without having to buy it twice, but now when i try and play one of the dlc's it says that i dont own it even tho my brother owns it on his account and is sharing it to me. I really dont know what to do at this point because i dont want to buy the dlc's twice for no reason.

I went into the properties and went to the (DLC) tab and there all there so i just thought i would uninstall them and reinstall them but even after doing all that I told me i dont have the DLC even after i just uninstalled it and reinstalled it. after that didnt work i even uninstalled the game to see if that will fix it but it still says i dont have the DLC.

I ususally breed 10 females to one male and I get 1-2 mutations a week.

More females more chances of mutations.

"low available RAM" is basically perpetual console existence. memory use for the game has already been optimized pretty heavily, asset quality is way lower on console to get it as low as you are seeing there, and singleplayer cuts it down even further

unfortunately there is really no way to put a hard cap on it on servers without basically disabling taming and building

stuff like structure and tame limits cant stop people combining 70 different types of stucture and dino in one spot

Its common, you arent guaranteed to get the mutation on every new egg

Steam > Settings > Download > Clear Download Cache should do it. It will log you out of steam, remove any installed mods, and cancel any current downloads. So make sure you have mods stored in a safe location and that you don't have any downloads going on.

I don't know if that will help your crashing issue, but it's worth a shot

Alternatively hold hammer in your hand and tab across to complete then pick up the pieces you've already placed starting with foundations and pillars

Yeah, its the helis actual saddle , I found a 124 in brute cave and podded and re opened , relogged and even did damage to the saddle and fixed it again , I've cone to the conclusion it's an item that cannot be turned into a bp for some reason.
