the Hard drive I have Ark on is a 512gb SSD external hard dive, Since the SSD in my laptop wasn't big enough to hold it. There is another game on it which is taking up some space, which i could probably uninstall if itd help. As for the Specs of my laptop itself, ill admit they arent the best, and kinda low for ark. But I was able to run and play ark with not any major issues untill this update

Download the GeForce app, it might already be on your pc, create an account/connect your steam/ms account to it, and it'll allow you to play games through it from your library. You don't even have to have the games installed.

-click the middle tab 'advanced'
-you should have a window showing
hm virtual memory you have allocated
-click 'change'
-uncheck the box where it has it set to autmatically
-click custom size and set initial to 32768 and maximum to 65536 (if you have more space on your SSD you can allocate more x1.5-x2 those figures)
-Click 'set' then 'ok' then it should prompt you to restart pc to complete changes

I'm testing turret damage.
For some reason the turrets just straight up ignore any dino resistance, fx the turret does the same damage shooting a rex and a trike's head (265). They both have no imprint no mate boost or any other buffs, and prim 25 armor saddles. And as far as I know a trike's head should only take 44 damage.
I've reset the settings, turned off single player settings and other stuff, but nothing changes. I don't have any mods on or anything, I've also tried different maps. Still nothing.
Did it get changed in a recent patch?

it seems to briefly spike to 100% usage, that or the OS is tripping out. some sort of a bug that seems to be related to joining (modded?) servers, for some people

you dont "have" a directx version in that sense, it is something decided by the software. they are just forcing the game to use 11 instead of 12

tell them to delete their settings ini folder and delete all launch args from the shortcut or in steam

I’m getting “you were kicked from server” when unmounting my dreadmare. Usually I would land unblackhole my mana, get off and try mount my mana, kicked from server. Numerous occasions.
It happened to me earlier simply dismounting from one. Reminded me of World of Warcraft, if you unmounted but due to latency or other effects you would get kicked from server because the game see you’re not mounted but still have movement speed of the mount.

i have a duped character, playing on island server with one character missing implant, lvl 139. tried to leave server and says its already in upload. logged out and into abb server to find i can download character. downloaded character with implant in inventory and not my transferred tames. went to transfer back to island and it says i have a character on server and asked to override it. this all happened since yesterday's crash and i was transferring at the time. currently still have my character but the one on the island has no implant and can be used and then my character with implant can be used on other servers. @carmine lance @heady dawn can you guys look into this please as this is a main high level character ive had since day one and dont want to loose it as your support tickets are just marked as solved when submitting

we are running across this on our unofficial cluster as well. Profile is not always saving and I don't know how to fix it. Was very rare before Extinction, now as admin I'm replacing someone's boss fights, exp and engrams almost every day. Some of them we can pinpoint to folks logging right after transferring servers, and the best solution we've found for this one is to drag something from your inventory into your (empty) slot 0 which should force your profile to save on the server. You cannot have anything in slot 0 at the time, it must be empty. When we tested different solutions this worked about 95% of the time (yes, we spent a whole evening on this). Unfortunately, a lot of these profile losses happened to folks who hadn't left a particular map in days. They are more console players than PC, but a good mix of both. I don't know why it is happening, I just do what I can to make them whole the next day, which includes having to put them back into their tribe if they were the owner. It hasn't been fun.

It can depend on the idividuals issue. Some have an issue that no matter what they try it doesnt fix it others have a lack of available virtual memory and the system page file is not large enough. God knows why it needs ot burn through so much v memory suddenly (yes prob a bug). But as I said for some increasing page file allocation resolves the issue for others it doesnt

it resolves it for nobody in the case of this particular issue with ASA, since it is a memory leak. this is not a legit out of memory issue, and if a game is hitting SWAP, it is already functionally frozen and unplayble. it is never a solution to games using too much memory

I believe there has been a mistake. My tribe has been wiped for supposedly blocking all the spawns, but that is not correct. We had the South 1 spawn point free. Besides, not only did we have the South 1 spawn free, but we were never informed or received any message stating that this was illegal so we could correct it. I don't think so. you would have to start a different character on the windows app. But if you are playing ASA on a crossplay server the Steam players can still play with you. Our servers have a mix of PS, Xbox and Steam and they work just fine together

If your mods are not downloading/installing and instead orf showing the normal images you see a grey box with a flame on most of them. Use the following fix;
-Download and install the standalone curseforge app from their website
-You don't need to add Ark to it or anything like that only install it
-Launch the game through steam as you always do and your issue should be fixed

I have had Curseforge contact me about this as they saw me helping peeople with it on their discord and they have started looking into why this is happening on their end.

Yeah. Technically speaking having 25k hp is too much for that fight tho. If you stayed at 21k they would take 2100 damage and heal 2100, at 25k they take 2500 and heal 2100. (not exactly but roughly). But yeah against gamma I would expect you to be pretty undamaged

With prim saddles you'll take more damage, but should still be fine for gamma. Just don't use your breeders lol

As an example with made up numbers:
4x weekend, I imprinted a rex, so it went to 500/500 health. After the weekend, when the server went back to 2x, the rex was showing 500/300 Health. Then after cyro it showed 300/300 health.

Same thing happened to everyone else's things they imprinted over the weekend.

I have a question does anyone get the issue when updating mods from trying to join the server it says it works but when it try’s to join it just sends you back to the starting screen ??

I try that but my main issue is when I go to the mod to update it never loads up and I have to constantly delete it and reinstall for it to work

consoles have basically 0 troubleshooting. I would suggest waiting for an update and seeing if its just a known crash.
play a different map in the meantime 🤷 center isn't story so you can do that.

What exactly is curforrge thing I tried to verify the files and installed standalone curseforge it was still the same for me and mods appear grey fire logo and says pending when trying to join unofficial

it was a guess. its probably placebo.

If you join the official curseforge discord they pinned my fix to the ark support channel. Curseforge reached out and are looking into it on their end to see why its happening and why installing the app indirectly fixes the in game mod browser connection.

Please be aware this only fixes your game if you have the bug where some/all of your mod icons are greyed out with a flame instead of the normal mod icons and they don't install/update properly

And you installed the standalone curseforge desktop app? Did you then try updating all mods in the mod browser?

I uninstalled all mods and haven't been able to reinstall them ...on browse mod section I still get uninstall/ update option ...ya I installed standalone curseforge app
