Anyone know what causes archelon babies health to just start dropping like crazy?

My guess is when it eats either biotoxin or algae it damages it, but there's a delay in it causing it's health to drop; but I haven't been able to confirm which one if so..

My current babies food bar is above 1000, and it has food in inventory, but out of no where it's health starts dropping rapidly (like 5-10/sec), I've had to pod it like 6 times already to stop it's health from dropping before .3% (on 2x)

I've been raising it on land, and after a while it start to lose health (almost like it's out of oxygen)...

my game has these black spots on the rocks (ground and walls) of the map and the grass is very flickery. this happens whenever there is no direct sunlight (when there is direct sunlight all is fine).

AVG cant determine if files for another program are corrupted, that is not remotely how anything works. it is also a very invasive program and is going to cause a lot of problems and false positives, both on purpose to look like it is "protecting" you and due to how it operates
steam will force a validation/reinstall if it detects extensive corruption in a game, which tends to be caused by hardware issues or disrupted updates (ie, a power loss/sudden shutoff halfway through)

to actually check for extensive corruption, you have to run verification tools specific to each program or type of file. running the windows CHKDSK command on the drive is a good idea, and SFC (system file checker) if windows is installed on the same drive

if you see anything from ark like "out of memory allocating <15-20 digit number> bytes", that is data corruption. lots of varying GPU-crash related errors are also a common sign

the "grain" and what i am assuming you mean by "light physics" probably mean the quality is just set way too low for decent results. it undersamples and accumulates data over multiple frames, so low res/fps + low raytracing quality gives you grainy shadows

if r.Lumen.ScreenProbeGather.DownsampleFactor 32 fixes the former, that is what is going on

max GI setting should set that value already

but by itself, that setting has little performance cost

Hi ! I've been trying to launch my Ark solo game for like 3 days now... but it just won't launch.

Basically, I first play the game on steam, no problem here. Then I go in my ark games, and when I try to start my The Island game, it starts launching, no problem whatsoever. And basically, when you usually launch your game, the music of the main menu is still going, until during the loading the music restarts, and that's when I get a super complicated message about "shootergame". I've tried a lot of different solutions online, reinstalling multiple times, going in the steam properties, etc, but I can't seem to get it to launch... I'm really worried cause I really care about this save.

I hope someone can take the time to help me, please 🙏. If necessary, I can send the message I get by message to people who'd be willing to help me, since I can't send it here.

Also make sure you don't have single player settings on (that skews the levels lower too).

I believe this is the line I added to my .ini (under server settings), to fix it:

OverrideOfficialDifficulty=5.0

So yeah, just do the max difficulty, add that line... do a wipe... and you should be golden for high levels eventually spawning in.

Gigabite is buggy since its release. its heavily ping dependend. is the server under load or the ping a bit higher (which is normal especially on official servers) = low damage. reported months ago. I made a forum post where you report bugs/issues with videos and examples... nothing happend since then. it seems wildcard dont care to fix it.

Ark evolved ran just fine even with mods. Ark ascended SLAUGHTER my memory with a few mods. It peak at 97% memory usage. Had to force shut the game because it froze my entire computer and im running on the lowest settings. Anything i can do with this or am i stuck waiting until the game is actually playable? ark survival ascended has a way higher requirement then Evolved. most games aren't as high as ASA.

older versions of notepad use a type that is violently incompatible with ark (and most software), which renders the config unreadable. but that is not your issue if your changes are not being erased

there is no [ServerSettings] section there. different file, works differently. if you added anything invalid, it is likely breaking the file

at this point you should probably delete the file and start over. something is wrong

afaik, thats off by default in ark. if you are on xbox (or PC xbox) then its just the broken filter between xbox and ark.

I think what they mean is that 5g uses LTE and builds from it, so it has the same limitations. Google focuses on the differences between the two, rather than talking about the similarity in technology.

Steam ark doesnt want to show me servers

It shows me like 30 servers for asa pvp. I remember having this problem with ase too

non-dedi has issues. dedicated servers don't usually have as many even when they are through the same PC and connection.

ive set up a server for ark SE on my pc following NeddyTheNoodle's guide
the server is online,
-i can find it in the server browser on the epic games version,
-crossplay is on in the server config
-ports 27015 and 7777 are forwarded using udp/tcp protocols
the problem:
if i then click on "join" it starts loading and displays: "joining server [server name]" in the middle of the screen, unfortunately it takes a while and then a popup appears saying:
"Joining failed, Connection Timeout"

What is the problem here?

There are separate club ark servers for each cluster. You cannot go from pve to pvp on officials. Log into your pvp smalltribes server, hit ESC to bring up the start menu, and click club ark.

🤔 that is odd. screen tearing is just a visible seam when you have part of two different frames visible at once due to your framerate being too high/unsynced, it is nowhere near as alarming as that
