cuddle interval should be 0.3 at 1x with singleplayer settings for everything to be able to get to 100%

bigger dinos will generally take more imprints not something you can fix unfortunately since you don't have access to the ini setting. (its not in the singleplayer menu)

its working for me I just drag the skin I want to the left inventory drop it over nothing and it makes a new item for it.

a simple question like "are you inside or outside a tree" turns into "define the outside of a tree in a way that does not make perfectly flat ground always get treated as a mesh violation"

in the end it has a bad hack that treats flat surfaces as slightly tilted, handles trees mostly correctly, and tries to ignore them having utterly insane collision behavior

all that temporal voodoo causes ghosting and needs high framerates to work well. framegen really needs about 90 real fps (180 shown in game) to look smooth

I'd put more levels in weight and movement speed over hp

if you can help it, put zero points in anything else. as you advance you'll get gear that makes those points useless (scuba for oxygen, stamina brews for stamina, guns for melee, and ghillie/fur armor for fortitude) (which you'll need weight to carry!)

So I checked all the spots where I found either one of them before but no success. Im thinking about cheat killing all wild dinos so maybe a new one spawns but I dont know if my pc survives or If it might ruin the game. I would be happy getting some help.

You go into cosmetics and select the skin you want to use to apply to your walls. So I do that. But the skin I was using is no longer there

Playing ASA:
Having an issue with dinos clipping through foundations whenever I start my server. Or if I go far away from the base and come back again.

At first thought it was an issue with building an elevated base, but now we have our breeding pen at ground level using regular foundations.
Still have to lift up achatinas and ovis from under the foundations.
Anyone got any tips or fixes for this?

Not really into working on the ground since then dinos spawn inside the pen and the grass is so high in ASA that even baby rexes disappear.

Anyone have any issues with suddenly being stuck in a refreshing inventory glitch? I transferred to scorched on our server and now I can’t access my inventory, tames inventories, drops, obs, vaults, etc. my screen starts flashing and a black box pops up saying refreshing inventory and continues till it errors out and resumes each time I try to open one of the above things. Has anyone found a fix for the horrible graphical quality plaguing ASA on console? I've used commands to help fix it but it's done next to nothing. The graphics on all my maps are either blurry or grainy to the point where it gives me a headache to look at. It absolutely baffles me how much of a downgrade ASA is from ASE and I find it hard to believe this game is on UE5. Do any devs have any news yall can share about when.. or if we will have a playable version of ASA on console? Cuz I see Extinction is releasing soon.. but that doesn't really matter if its going to be unplayable cuz of the graphics and I'm just going to get a migraine from looking at it. Not trying to come across as disrespectful, but I genuinely love the franchise and can't enjoy it bcuz of this issue. Instead of releasing recycled content, the original product should be optimized in my opinion.

guessing you are on series S? there is no way to fix it, the game has no business running on that sort of hardware, and the resolution is in fact lowered to about PS2 levels to allow it to even attempt to do so

you can tinker with some of the graphics options to try and make it less blurry, but that will come with significant framerate sacrifices

cant do anything about texture resolution/detail without greatly increasing risk of crashing

disabling volumetric clouds gives you a decent amount of performance headroom to play with, if they are not already disabled on it at this point

Ive disabled volumetric clouds and did the command to remove some foliage but framerate isn't the issue, it's the grain and blurriness of the overall game. I am on series S but I play with people on the series X that have the exact same issues as myself. From what I can tell is the game was made for PC and not for current console hardware which is why it looks like 💩. If that is the case then nothing can be done about it unless they overhaul the game to optimize it for console.

It should have been made for the series X/S and PS5 then upgraded for PC, then it would run better.

it runs a lot better on X. not amazingly, but the res is way higher than on S. having nearly twice the memory and over twice the graphics processing power helps

you can try fiddling with the downsample factor and resolution directly, but it will probably be crashy experimentation

curious about mutations again - know i have asked stuff about this in the past but sort of newish question. Ok, i currently have a clean 20 mutation male rex. been working with clean base males and females to prevent screwing up the coutns and i have 20 mutations on a single male rex. Now, I also know that 20 is a magic number before deminishing returns - correct? Now this 20 mutations thing gets me confused when it comes to how things get weighted past 20 mutations. Can i now start trying to push a female with 20 mutations (easy becasue I can jsut swap muts onto a female and then i have a 20 female and 20 male). but then do i get a baby with 40 and i'm stuck? or how do the mutations stack once i get 20 clean ones on a male? should i keep going on just a male? should I stop? if I go to 22 mutations how does that affect the previous 20? does it remeber the original 20 or does it weight them in order like x number in hp then x in another and so on?

im going to try simplify it, a mutation can happen from female or male side if both are under 20 muts,
if one side go over 20 muts it can no longer have a chance to pass on a mut so halfs the chance .

it takes a long ass time to get a baby with a mut into the stat u want and have the increased stat points ! like average 200-300 babies
so its always best to breed one male with a load females right... more eggs , more babies
if u want to go over 20, just keep breeding the male with the muts an stats with the females, its the way faster way , still long time, and tbh past 20 , really isnt worth it imho , seperate line of 20 mele an 20 health once together is gonna op asf

Jungle Cave Loot Loot Drops Spawn inside the Mesh still on Center, same as a bunch of the loot drops on the Western Side of the Map. not really anything you can do in that case. if you do have a dGPU, ensure the game is set to use it

the only reason i would ever waste money on that thing is to test if my projects actually run on it, and it is increasingly looking like it wont run the game anymore by the time that matters

it has 10GB memory, total. wildcard has chopped the game down to just barely fit in that, and anything that increases memory use unexpectedly will crash it

certain areas of some maps use more memory than others due to what is being loaded, and any variety of dinos, structures, ect require more

it is reasonably optimized. there are not any massive inefficiencies that can be fixed to get free performance

ark was always memory intensive. adding a ton of graphical enhancements and having a worse GPU and memory then the xbox one x is the reason why series S can't run it.

there probably is room for optimization in the nanite landscape, but it would require unreal to figure out how to use nanite data for collision 🤔 right now it uses heightmap for collision and nanite for graphics

Found a fix for the screen flickering / inv flickering on ASE :D both normal and timecapsule, if anyone needs feel free to DM! Takes a while

Hm. To add context, I am on Astraeos. There was a rather large patch. Everything was fine at first. Went discovering. Etc. I then also added the new Mythical Dinos and restarted the server. Upon return, yeah. I start just walking through everything. Unable to interact with the building itself. But in creative mode, I can at least float through it, and interact with boxes inside. Does this seem to match up with reports about rafts or platforms?

Update to my issue: I tried to do a restore to a point yesterday. The restore was successful. Only... the problem still remains. I seem to just chug through any structures on any oasisaur and seem to have a hard time interacting with anything onboard.

I use Steam's Family Sharing to run different characters on the same server.

I had bought some Premium cosmetics mods on my main account and wanted to use one on one of the shared accounts.

I had to purchase a copy for the shared account which is understandable, but it isn't letting me install it to the account. It has an install button but also shows "installed" and "Purchased" tags.

Is there something I'm missing?

you will still be pulled into caves, boss arenas, and sometimes randomly (load points)

some maps won't have any in the open like the island. others like crystal have them all over the place.

I keep having an issue where I cant install some mods, ill try to join a server and it will get to some % and just stop, i wait nothing happens, i go back and try again and again untill it gets to one or more mods that it refuses to download, i go to the mods menu and try to manually download the mod and it gets to lik 1-2% and restarts a couple times until it just stops trying to download it completely. i had this problem when i tried to play the game on release and i had to re install the game like 4 times to fix it. is there any way to fix this other than reinstalling the game?
