So, after investing once I got home, the Rexes in question have 8476/20 matrilineal mutations and 8025/20 patrilineal mutations. I have both males and females of the over mutated rexes. The current line I've been working on, so far are "clean" 0/20 mutations on both the patrilineal and matrilineal sides, so realistically I could breed the over mutated male with "clean" females, or the wild tame with the higher Melee into the over mutated females. I would imagine, in either case, if I were to end up with babies with the higher Melee stat, it would effectively "reset" the mutations of whichever side of the line the "clean" parents were on? (Patrilineal if breeding with the "clean" male, and matrilineal if breeding with "clean" females). Also, at some point, I was hoping to breed out a couple of the "wasted" stats. I've got a wild m low level male I tamed which ended up with 0 points in food after tame, which was the next step in breeding for the stat line I was currently working on.

what on earth happened to it? it is near impossible to total a PC like that unless it is struck by lightning. and you dont need a crazy CPU, any current gen ryzen 5/7 , 2x16 sticks 32GB RAM, an upper-mid-range GPU like a 4070 or 7800XT, and you are good.

you can get away with a lower end GPU, but the graphics quality will suffer a bit

update immediately, or look into how to manually configure safe current and voltage levels if your motherboard does not have a BIOS update that adds support for the intel default profile. this is a huge issue. there will be another round of BIOS updates coming in august with further fixes, but it wont do anything to help already broken processors

on the topic of ark, a lot of people are reporting serious problems with the recent Nvidia drivers, performance regressions in many games, DLSS being broken. the may 9th driver is the last that works correctly with ASA, and a lot of people are back to the october 2023 driver. something to test

A lot of the decay timers seem to be having issues even if it's all been rendered, file #bug-reports on the issue and unfortunately you'll have to remake the forge.

Hi. Unfortunately, I have a problem with the game crashing on the center map. I don't have this problem on other maps and never have.
I use r.VolumetricCloud 0 | commands r.VolumetricFog 0 | grass.sizeScale 0 | grass.densityScale 0 | r.shadowquality 0 .
I lowered my graphics to the minimum, it doesn't change anything.
The game may hang randomly for me in random situations. I feel it most often in water, but I can also swim there, swim to a specific place and not be able to do anything there, even after death.
sometimes I can play for 2 hours without the game crashing, and sometimes it freezes every 1-2 minutes.
The game also crashes on the edges of the map or when im turning - so its random situations.
before the crash information appears, the game freezes, only then the crash information appears.
In order for me to exit the game and start it again, I have to turn it off via the task manager.
I cleaned my computer completely - I restarted it - it doesn't work.
I changed Windows 10 to Windows 11 - it doesn't work.
the file scan turned out fine.

Just an alert to anyone who is playing non-dedicated, do not use the transmitter to upload your creatures. Uploading items via transmitter is fine, but NOT creatures. If you are the host it's fine, but not as a person who joined. Transmitter reduces all your tames to level 1 stats and you cannot fix this.
The only way to save your tames is if you're using the dinoball mod, the admin recovery will allow you to restore all your tames BUT do not ball corrupted tames, it will reset the admin recovery tames to the corrupted stats.

If you are uploading tames in non-dedicated, ONLY USE THE OBELISKS.

yo okay so i need some help here with an ASE issue that i've been having - any help is super appreciated.

ive been playing ark for around 5-6 years now, and the same problem has been racking my brain non stop, making it impossible for me to play the game for more than a day or two...

briefly, the issue is that there is a random chance of my game factory resetting every time I open the game. this resets all ark settings, game settings, all game saves, and all survivors. though it keeps mods installed, it is essentially as if I had just downloaded the game.

i have no clue what could be causing this, it's a completely random chance that this happens, I open Ark the same way every time and i close it the same way every time, but it'll keep happening every now and then.

if anyone has any ability to help with this, please let me know, its been bothering me for years.

Hello everyone, I have a problem that I would like help with, if possible. My question has to do with party dodos and event cooking pot items. I'm playing ASE, single player, Valguero. I've played other maps, I'm slowly discovering everything I can and I've met party dodos before, specifically on Lost Island. I killed them and used the cake they dropped to craft stuff at cooking pots. All good. Now, on Valguero I keep seeing party dodos, take their cake (that's so mean) but I see no recipes at cooking pots. I transferred the cake to Lost Island and put it in the same cooking pot I had previously crafted chibis at, but again I see no recipes. Can anyone help with the why for starters? 😅

@brazen robin Thanks for helping out man I was really confused. I got the events to work with the codes and looked up more codes to learn how stuff works. I have one problem with this though, The chibi recipes all require jerky, not cake slices. According to the wiki cake slices were used for the 5th anniversary. ark7th, ark5th and birthday all give jerky chibi recipes.

Ok so for me at least, the process was to launch a map with the event code in the event box I want to switch to, at this point the map will still use the previous event, then exit the game, restart and relaunch the map (the event's name was in the event box from the last map launch). "birthday" was indeed the code that let's me use the slices. Also, I only tried WinterWonderland out of the rest of the codes, but it worked!

so the cpu was around 65-75% but thats normal even for runnning around the wild and memory was 6mill 48% which is normal and ive let it sit at freeze screen for 20mins no sign of closing even alt f4 dont work

failure rates for 14th gen i7s and i9s seem to be near 100% over time

if it is a new system, i strongly suggest returning/replacing it. if you are stuck with it, take measures to reduce further damage as much as possible

microsoft requires all games be published on the series S without any cut features, which causes all sorts of problems. also no guarantees are made regarding mod support. a server can easily install too many mods for any console to handle, and that is on them

if the amount of memory and hardware capabilities on the consoles were all the same, it would be a lot easier

scorched earth is the easiest map to run. it is small, almost no trees, less dinos to load, so on

more memory the map uses, the less there is for mods

If you own genesis you get one with your starter skins. They can also be bought on genesis. There isn't a functional difference between rarities so buy the green one. There might also be a recipe for it in the cooking pot if they haven't removed that.

I've been nomadically transferring with my stuff and I got a good kit to kick off on any server including a grinder for even easier materials.

Island tends to be built upon on pretty much all even semi decent spots - rafting is out of the question until we get Ragnarok without Leeds.

SE is a personal favorite of mine for various reasons however the EU servers are either pillared and built across and even around the map or straight up empty with 0 pop - and I'm scared of doing a dune base.

Center is obviously the rave right now but personally there isn't anything particularly keeping me on there and it's too water heavy for me to consider it longterm with mostly land tames. It's visually nice but besides Pyromanes it doesn't seem to have anything Island can't provide.

So I'm struggling to decide and would like a definite answer on where I; as a solo should set up main base.

Can some explain to me how quality in drops work (assuming default settings), on the wiki it says all drops no ring have a qualtiy range of 100%-100% but if you look at the detailed section it says "The item entry (Lvl 25 drops - with quality) contains exactly 1 of the following items .... as item or as blueprint with quality 125%" and then drops with ring is 200%-250% but also has the "as item or as blueprint with quality 125%" on the items that can be bps. im guessing the 125% is a multiplier on the range but with that no ring drops would only have 125% damage guns but that isnt even close to true ive seen less than 25 and higher than 25 from no rings

i think the 125% is just a multiplier on the x-x% and the vastly dif stats are just becasue the entire equation takes many things into acc that you cant see and can produce quite dif results if the game just deceides to give you a low number on one variable

They cycle through servers. You have to know the server name you are trying to reach to reconnect, because they never told asa how to save servers, despite it clearly being listed as an option. "join last session" and "auto favorites" don't exist.

you can't even go to steam servers, because survival ascended doesnt show up on the game list. its ark evolved twice

one of these days... perhaps just before hell freezes over, they might get around to fixing it

I would grow all the fruits/veggies. I believe there are 4 types. And then Mejo Berries, Tinto Berries, and I think the yellow and blue ones. I don't bother with Stims but you can if you want.

Basically you want all these for Kibble and Med Brews. You can also make custom recipes too which you probably wanna just find a video on YT for that.

I would also do meat runs in the swamp on a big dino like a Rex or better. Get tons of meat in no time. Get 4 grills and tons of fridges. Cook it and store it. You'll never be hungry again.

I raise dinos on cooked meat so I don't eat that stuff now. Just use custom recipes to eat or prime meat as I don't need it in late game anymore.

I also have another big problem. I take a specific route with my anklyo, shortest trip, to get iron. But there is a level 20 alpha raptor there now. My tech level is primitive guns / metal armor. I shot the hell out of this thing with 20 rifle shots and it didn't give a shit.

Should I just take all my heavy dinos over and try to kill it?

Not sure what dino levels yall use. I'm on officials where dinos can spawn up to level 150 right now. Not sure your settings but a good Rex can deal with alphas. So I'd focus on getting a rex too.
