then it is not your cpu dying in a shitboard voltage fire, at least. have you verified the game files already, and does the memory amount listed in the error seem like an impossible value, ie, terabytes or more? that usually indicates corruption

Spawning everything in is the hard way. Just do cheat takeallstructures and takealldinos while looking at your old stuff

Hello, I was trying to lower the height of grass on my non dedicated server (PS5) once I did the code for grass.sizescale [.5] it completely took all the grass away on almost the whole map except for a few spots that are harvestable. I just wanted to lower the grass not get rid of it.
I tried resetting these codes and even tried grass.density scale code and nothing has regrown it.

Not sure if this is new.. I know there's been auto crafting in ASA BUT.. I'm noticing an enable and disable auto craft of specific items now in the cooker and cooking pot. This is great cause it sounds like you can set only the things you want to auto craft so it won't auto craft dyes but auto craft everything else you'd want.

Guess what though. It doesn't work 🤣 😭

I tried it with disabling Auto Crafting on the cooker and then manually setting stuff to auto craft. Doesn't work. Then I set the cooker to enable auto crafting but that auto crafts everything with no way to disable specifci items from auto crafting.

Would be a huge QoL upgrade if this actually worked properly.

Not tryna make recipes though.. there's literally an option when you click on soap and any other thing in the cooker/cooking pot to set those items to auto craft. But it doesn't work. You either auto craft every engram possible or you auto craft nothing. It's annoying.

I was just saying about the recipe cos there wasn't a craft recipe button like usual so clicked disable auto and it took us to recipe page haha.

Is anyone able to help with a reinstall loop please? My finacee's game is updating the entire game even though all her ark files (126GB) are still there in the game's directory...

so i defeated the dragon boss recently, but at a cost. 90% of my dinosaurs DIED at my base. according to the game, they died to the dragon. but i never brought them to the boss arena, it seemed every time the dragon attacked, it killed my dinosaurs, rip 15 horses, 7 brontos, 4 mosasaurs, and rip to 25 of my precious pelegornis's. anyone know why? also serving as a warning to anyone else fighting the dragon boss (if the glitch is still persisting), BE CARFUL leaving dinosaurs at base, no matter what they die.

wild are their own numbers in ASA. which you can then breed into your lines.
tamed by default is 88 levels total.

@brazen robin is right, with how mutations being it own stack now you can get 254 mutation points on top of whatever the base value originally was and then a max of 88 xp levels aswell. However the hard cap of 450 levels total (500 for certain things which aren't in the game yet) still applies. Which is why when we breed we lower stats we don't want to free up levels for stats we do.

Yes you can keep mutating up to 254 points in whatever stat you focus on.

you need to breed and imprint them to get them back up to being strong. the wild ones are still way stronger but with a max saddle and lots of breeding uou can takr on a wild giga

a corrupted save will typically crash the game, not load with stuff missing. it can happen rarely, though

Hi all, for the past 4 days my game has been having “fatal errors” and crashing. Sometimes it lets me get into my server then will crash and sometimes it crashes on the main menu. I have made sure my drivers are up to date and validated files (steam) but it’s still crashing. I Tested the Microsoft version and it is also crashing for me. Does anyone know how to fix this? (trying to get a grind going on ASA but the game hates me lol) Have been trying to join for the past day now and have tried everything to fix this fucking bullshit but everytime I join around 10 seconds later I just get kicked out with the same error message, "lost/timeout to host connection" or something related to that. I have tried everything from checking my in game files and verifying them with the verify integrity of files on steam, uninstalled the whole game and reinstalled it, restarted my PC, changed graphics to moderate setting and most recommended settings, uninstalling the battleye client then relaunching ark and reinstalling it, I even joined a seperate official server and it did the same exact thing to me, just kicked me out 10 seconds later. I've tried everything I can think of and nothing works, also tried joining over around 6 times in a row or so but all turned out the same.

I even tried using a VPN but that doesn't work either

and I just got ASA a few days ago due to the fact I heard they're adding ark addition mod dinos to the base game which is pretty nice as before I was kinda hesistant to get it, but now that I am trying to actually play it's just kicking me out everytime I try joining an official server

and I would uninstall and reinstall even more than I already have but for my pc to fully reinstall it takes around 3+ hours so I don't wanna do it consecutively

I run ark at 60 FPS on my PC due to my monitor being a 4K 60 HZ Ultra HD Monitor and made for graphics more than frames but it's good enough for it to be smooth
as for my graphics card it's an og gen 1 rtx 2060 and haven't changed or upgraded in a while but it can run any game fine, I mean I literally have 2 presets on epic and everything else medium but for the sake of this problem I just went with medium on everything, I usually do medium on everything anyway excluding shadows, view distance, and textures. For shadows: low, for view distance: epic, for textures: either high or epic.

And it's not just one official server. (this is a PC problem btw obv) I tried another official server with lower ping and even another one and I got the same message from them after joining

My ark runs fine lol, I usually keep everything medium due to not having the best rtx as I have a 2060 but it's enough to run games on moderate-high settings, it's more of a server problem because I tried singleplayer prior and I am able to run the game just fine but when I join a server I can run it for a few seconds and then just get the same error message

also everytime I join I spawn back in the same spot I was in

Maybe, I'll just sum it up shortly real quick so @runic flicker here can understand, basically every server I join, well the main one I am joining to play on I always spawn in the same spot, and once I join in everything is frozen, the wild dinos, everything, I can't even harvest when I go up to a tree

and it goes for 10 or so seconds until I get kicked with the "lost/timedout connection to host" error.

and then I get disconnected, I will try restarting the router and seeing if that solves the problem and run the ping

speed test doesn't really tell a lot

if you haven't i would def run a continuous ping and then join a server and look for packet loss when the issue happens, it really sounds like it's your card choking to me

well it kinda is to see whether my internet has shitty mbps or not, also whenever I join I can't see my ping nor any packet loss unless that's an option in settings I need to enable, also I disabled everything like light bloom, light shafts, stuff like that that puts heavy pressure on your graphics card

throughput (mbps) is only one facet of connection quality. ping and packetloss can be terrible while throughput is high, or vice versa

if you just fire up a command prompt and run ping -t 1.1.1.1, it will keep pinging in the background and you can alt-tab back to it and look after the issue happens, but...testing it with a wired connection or a different wifi adapter will be the best way to isolate/rule out the wifi adapter

when i had the issue with dota2 the wifi worked great for everything, good download speeds, even other games played fine, but if i joined a dota2 game the wifi would crap out like immediately, the it would be good again a few seconds after i got dropped from the game

so I'm running the ping via cloudfare to check packet loss and my best ping is 4m, while my worst was 12m

aka 4 miliseconds to 40 miliseconds

Maximum = 40ms

Average = 6ms

so I have an average of 6ms to 40ms which still seems like a good connection but I will restart the router now, if the same thing keeps happening however I think it's definitely a 24 hour ban from battle eye due to spam

Also the battleye client kick happened on an unofficial server not an official. The issue is.

@pine stratus transferred from island to scorched.

After he did his inventory kept flashing black saying refreshing ark inventory.

He uninstalled all mods and then tried again and still the same.

Then he made a new character and tried again and still the same..

Then he uninstalled ASA completely and tried it all again and still the same.

I've never seen it before it was weird. He can't access the ob or drops or his own inventory without it being frozen.

Then his dad got onto valleys account from his own xbox in a different house and it did it with that account. But it doesn't do it with his account only valleys.

Also it only seems to be doing it on 1 server, he can go to single player or another server and it doesn't do it.

I'm playing single-player with mods like primal fear and I decided to adjust dino count a bit it was at 1.5 so I made it 2 and after joining I did "destroyallwilddinos" for it to take effect and after some time ot started to lag crazy so I made it back to 1.5 and after doing a lot of restarts and "destroywilddinos" commands it still lags super crazy

Ceratosaur sprint seems broken on Official. Small rocks can send you flying and medium/large rocks take 2 seconds to break and you lose all speed in both cases. Even some trees can stop you dead in your tracks above 75%. Server ping is about 160-170 on the Island. Works really well and is fun to ride on singleplayer though.

I started a server with 3 of my friends on SE lost island. There are 2 teams with 2 players each. One of the players on the other team is a try hard and a no lifer. I get on 2-2.5 hours a day, and he gets on like 6z He is pretty rich, with lots of tames that could one shot my tames. He also just griefs me and my teammate all the time. From KOing my tames to dropping Rexes on my base with a rhino he is always doing things to annoy me. The last straw was when we had 2 high-ish level Wyvern eggs that my teammate just grabbed from the trench and he sniped him and stole the eggs from us. Does anyone have any ideas on how they could help me get my revenge?

(Map is a clone of our current map, used to retrieve lost characters.
So uploads/downloads etc are all enabled.

The other 3 maps are all linked, uploaded items available across all 3.
Just not the test server we use to load backups on.

It seems to be isolated for it's "ARK Data" (uploads).

Having trouble with spawns on singleplayer. On log-in the immediate area around me is full. If I leave area and reload, maybe 3-4 dino's are left but most despawn. A dinowipe leads to nothing respawning (left a character sitting for 1 hour and nothing)

Where have all the wyverns gone? Running an server on SE ASA and the trench is practically empty. Dinowipe repopulates to normal numbers (~20 of each type and an alpha) and 5-10 minutes later its 1 or 2 of each and no alpha. All confirmed via cheat listdinos. first, your computer is breaking/broken in some manner. worry about that and look into it. it crashing corrupted your savefile, which you may be able to fix. are you playing ASE or ASA?

hey getting back to you about how the problem went, so the error "lost/timedout connection to host" everytime I join a server and I can move for around 15 seconds and I seem to be glitched as I always wake up in the same spot then just get kicked (this also happens on other servers but still happens on the main server I'm trying to play on) is still occuring whenever I try joining a server after 24 hours and I even reinstalled it after uninstalling it, verified integrity of files, then uninstalled battleye launcher and reinstalled it and none of that worked, Idk what to do anymore lol

if it is hard crashing, it is not fine. that means you have hardware problems, unless it was a simple power outage. but ASE saves are in Steam\SteamApps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved and each map has a folder. the island and unofficial modmaps are in \SavedArksLocal and other maps in a folder names after them. inside that is the player save LocalPlayer.arkprofile and world save TheIsland.ark or MapName.ark. there will be backup files called LocalPlayer.profilebak and MapName_AntiCorruptionBackup.bak ands MapName_NewLaunchBackup.bak. take the oldest of the .bak files and replace the .ark and .arkprofile with them by renaming them. make a safe copy the whole folder first if you are not sure what you are doing.

whatever issues caused it to crash will continue to happen with similar results, unless addressed

Does anyone know how to fix this? (trying to get a grind going on ASA but the game hates me lol) Have been trying to join for the past day now and have tried everything to fix this fucking bullshit but everytime I join around 10 seconds later I just get kicked out with the same error message, "lost/timeout to host connection" or something related to that. I have tried everything from checking my in game files and verifying them with the verify integrity of files on steam, uninstalled the whole game and reinstalled it, restarted my PC, changed graphics to moderate setting and most recommended settings, uninstalling the battleye client then relaunching ark and reinstalling it, I even joined a seperate official server and it did the same exact thing to me, just kicked me out 10 seconds later. I've tried everything I can think of and nothing works, also tried joining over around 6 times in a row or so but all turned out the same.
I even tried using a VPN but that doesn't work either
and I just got ASA a few days ago due to the fact I heard they're adding ark addition mod dinos to the base game which is pretty nice as before I was kinda hesistant to get it, but now that I am trying to actually play it's just kicking me out everytime I try joining an official server
and I would uninstall and reinstall even more than I already have but for my pc to fully reinstall it takes around 3+ hours so I don't wanna do it consecutively
I run ark at 60 FPS on my PC due to my monitor being a 4K 60 HZ Ultra HD Monitor and made for graphics more than frames but it's good enough for it to be smooth
as for my graphics card it's an og gen 1 rtx 2060 and haven't changed or upgraded in a while but it can run any game fine, I mean I literally have 2 presets on epic and everything else medium but for the sake of this problem I just went with medium on everything, I usually do medium on everything anyway excluding shadows, view distance, and textures. For shadows: low, for view distance: epic, for textures: either high or epic.
And it's not just one official server. (this is a PC problem btw obv) I tried another official server with lower ping and even another one and I got the same message from them after joining
Idk if I'm banned from the official network but I'm definitely not considering I just got ASA and have done nothing wrong like cheating or whatnot, plus it's super hard to get banned from official networks anyway (context)

but you are not banned. banned says banned. if you can only join some servers, but not others, that further suggests it is network issues, official PvE tends to be spammed to shit, which means a big initial download that can fail on less reliable connections, or if throttled

hopefully these issues will get better over time, most games are not as sensitive to funky network conditions, but UE5's netcode is just like this. palworld has the same problems

yeah, that sounds like your movement packets (or maybe any packets) are not getting to the server, and it is kicking you due to you being "disconnected" 🤔
