I play on controller. There is virtually nothing a controller can't do that keyboard and mouse can if set up correctly. Unfortunately the devs, like most developers, did not set up their controller config correctly. So I'm trying to use steams controller config software to do it myself. They did get some things right with their controller setup though, which is why I'm trying to do a hybrid setup. I want to use controller inputs in all the ways the game gets it right and overlay KB/M inputs on the controller in all the ways the game gets it wrong. Yes, I want my cake and I want to eat it. Fortunately the game accepts input from a controller, a mouse and a keyboard all simultaneously and for the most part pretty seamlessly. Most of the time I use controller inputs when I'm running around but when I go into a menu I want keyboard and mouse functions overlayed to the controller. None of this would be a problem except that when I go into a menu, I'm in controller mode. And they have a proprietary cursor in controller mode that steam does not recognize as a cursor. This is a problem because I need steam to automatically change my keybindings from global to menu and back again. The only way steam knows I'm in a menu is when it detects a cursor on the screen. If it doesn't recognize your games unique cursor as a cursor then that essential feature will not work. I didn't have this problem with ARK Evolved. I was able to mix the two more seamlessly. I've figured out some work arounds but it's not smooth. I have to jog it out of "controller mode" everytiime I go into a menu Maybe if they included a setting to just turn off the proprietary cursor. Or maybe learn how to do a proper controller config. Anything anyone can do or recommend would be greatly appreciated.

By the way, the reasons for wanting to be in "controller mode" for large portions of the time, especially when running around, are many. Such as being able to see icons on screen that match a controller or joystick input being much smoother than WASD on the left joystick and mouse input on the right joystick, just to name a couple. There are many problems with the way they did the controller setup but just to name a glaring one. There is no way to efficiently do whistles. Having to navigate a wheel takes too long. Again, if setup properly, you can fit every keyboard and mouse function on a controller, including all ten hotkeys and all the whisles (and without having to take time to navigate a wheel.)
I will say, for a big complex sandbox game, Ark has done better than most with setting up a controller config but it's still WAY off.

Depends if its asa or ase, also depends on what you mean by torch.

You cannot change the color of handheld torches with angler gel on either version but you can use angler her in wall/standing torches in bith versions to emit a blue light.

If youre on asa specifically, you can just dye the torch to change the flame color. Works for all torches including handheld as well as lamps

Hello, i have problem whit game and maybe someone know what i suppose to do: I have huge problem joining sever when place i stay start rendering it mostly stop rendering stuff that is in my base and it looks like place was without structures ( whit occasionally wall or floor , there and there floating ) then "lost/timeout conection to the host" message. i try oer and oer and mostly by 2-30 tries im manage to join the serer. lately this becoming problemating more and more, hapens to be 30min to full hour just cliking "join" over and over again. any sugestion what could help ? I am still running winter wonderland and since the update yesterday, every time santa raptor drops the gift I home screen.
After that I home screen every time I log in “unless” I uninstall winter wonderland and re-install it.
Second part is I can not install it from the mod screen. I have to install from the server login screen and it takes perhaps@10 minutes.

I tried right now to connect to my server without any changes in the mod we use on our unofficial server. The only difference with yesterday before update is a totally fresh map without character or tribe wipe, only a new map. And I can connect to my server without any problem. If I put back the map where we were playing for 3 months, impossible to connect. Uninstalling mods won't help you, they just broke the maps we all have on our servers

On this map we don't have any of our previous structures of course or any tames, we have to start everything from scratch.
If I put back our previous map with our structures and tames, can't connect anymore. So the problem comes from the map. WC totally broke it with their update.

It may not have more spawns, but the level distribution for dino spawns is different on rag than the island, more likely to find high levels, hence why I mentioned it

Yeah center is also good, island is just probably one of the hardest maps to come across a high level rex on just because the level distribution is weighted to the lower end, even though you’ll come across more rex, most will be low level sadly
