It's a console manufacturer filtering thing on their online services I'm 99% sure, it happened in the original ASE with Xbox and Playstation as well. Filters out a lot of stuff ranging from "lol" to "dangerous" for some reason lol. It's nothing to do with the game itself because when I'm playing my Steam version it's totally fine talking to the same people on the same server, but my Xbox Series X version filters it out, both from me and to me.

I suspect they're being strict with their chat, I play online with my kids a lot and I can't even type "love you" to my daughter without it filtering it out lol. And that's not just in-game, it blocks that in Xbox DM's as well.

There's not much you can do on the driver front then. Neither Nvidia nor AMD have game ready drivers because it's an early access title, they don't usually bother until full release

you can try , keep the files u have seperate or in the .old folder, dont put the backups in. just load game . this shud mean u have a fresh charachter and world save. then test if same crash. use gcm or gfi to get the items u need to test

I'm honestly surprised that it's been almost 2 months since anything really clientside in the way of performance and crash fix patches. Nvidia and AMD aren't doing drivers for it yet so a lot of people I know have just started playing it on console instead, at least it works

Yeah, I have an old Radeon VII from 2019, it's a GCN architecture card, myself and all of my other friends on pre-RDNA (5000 series onwards) AMD cards get MASSIVE framerate drops if we have water surfaces on the screen, I'm talking low double/high single digit framerates. All of our friend group with 5000 series or later, that is those on RDNA based GPU's, are fine. So far the only "fix" we've found is to use r.water.singlelayer 0 to turn the water surface off entirely, that fixes the problem instantly but makes water invisible from above so not really a fix lol

So we've all just opted to play it on Xbox instead and abandon the PC version because most of us already had Xboxes and for those who didn't, it's cheaper to buy an entire Xbox, even a Series X, than it is to buy a modern GPU that's any good

I'm pretty annoyed tbh because the Radeon VII was a flagship card in 2019, and they've already basically discontinued driver support for it, I'm never buying an AMD again. But Nvidia charge more for a mid-range card like a 4060 Ti than an Xbox Series X costs, so.... yeah. There's that.

My current plan is to wait a year cos I'm getting married next summer, and then when the finances have recovered from that the 5090 should be more or less on the horizon, and I'll get one of those and do an entirely new build lol

It's a dangerous thing to leave them on, I usually only put my dinos on passive when I'm moving them on a raft and I don't want them to be like wolololo diving off into the ocean to chase something like a stealy bird

Its pretty sad tbh because the water framerate drops are the only thing that makes it unplayable on the Radeon VII. Without that issues it's pretty smooth, i can easily hold like 50 fps on medium or whatever. Not that great but better than console. But my god, the water kills it. I did report it as a bug but I'm not sure if it's even a bug or just something those pre-RDNA GPU's can't deal with.

Only note about water on my 4090 was turning on DLAA makes it look incredible in comparison and only cost a few frames to have DLAA on. Doesn't seem to cause any performance drops to look at a jungle over water compared to just looking at a jungle, if anything, the more water, the better the framerate was my experience on my old PC. Strange that AMD cards seem to struggle so bad with it.

It's not all AMD cards it's only pre-RDNA AMD cards, i.e anything before the 5000 series of GPU's. 5000's and afterwards run the game fine.

I'm guessing it's probably indirectly to do with the reflections rather than the water itself. Makes me wonder whether commands like r.Lumen.TranslucencyReflections.FrontLayer.Allow=0 or r.Lumen.Reflections.Allow=0 would improve things, though, I'm guessing settings like that are probably already controlled by the Global Illumination setting, if they're active. It's the sort of thing I don't really know about, but would try on my own machine, though not recommend you try on yours.

Soooo I've got an issue with creatures ending up under the mesh in various places after bossfights, the customer support link sends me to file a report for ban appeals and coc violations. Feels wrong.

Presume it's official if you're talking about customer support. Can you whistle them close enough to poke their heads through the mesh? Wonder whether creatures in that state will be cryopodable once those come out.

I've used every command going, the only one that instantly fixes it is r.water.singlelayer 0 which removes the surface of the water entirely, that immediately fixes the framerate but obviously makes water invisible from above so not really a fix. I just play the game on Xbox, it's virtually crash free on Xbox for me.

You can play with any platform on official servers, if you have an unofficial dedicated server you just have to change the server settings to allow connections from other platforms.

You literally just join the same official server. As long as you don't have PC only or Xbox only enabled in your server search options you can both join the same one. If you have a rented unofficial server you have to go into your Nitrado login page and change the server connection settings

Yeah. It's very low resolution. I would guess it's scaling to somewhere around 720p. The bigger your screen is, the worse it looks. I've played it on PC, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S and Series S is by far the worst looking, however it is 100% playable and has a pretty stable framerate

There are lots, there are also going to be a lot that you will think are bad, though that can be a bit subjective. My experience of playing Unofficials is that sometimes you need to try a few out to find the really good eggs, but when you do find one that has a great admin team and a lovely community, you can be happy there for a very long time. Just be sure to ask early about their policy for things like 'wiping' and enquire if admins use commands for their own good, that sort of thing. Many unofficials are arguably superior to officials, having dedicated admin teams, running special events and you get the bonus of access to cool mods, if you want that kind of server.

I've never crashed with my 4090 with two exceptions, within 2 minutes of testing turning on Frame Gen and when I accidentally manipulated the rendering system to improve the graphics but forgot to downgrade a different settings. For normal play, no crashes. I don't think it's specific to 'NVIDIA is bad'

They blocked a lot of commands that are being used as exploits in PvP, like hiding grass, trees and everything else. They'll continue to remove their use. However, for now, it looks like they overlook Grass.sizescale 0 resulting in the same thing.

Yes, it could, but there are 6 possible colour regions, regions 0 to 5. Different creatures use different amounts of these, some use none, some use all six. It's the same as trying to get all 6 stats to come out when each stat is roughly a 50/50 chance, it's very unlikely to get all the stats (or colours) from one parent. So, you might consider doing it in steps if that option comes up.

Argys use 5 different colour regions, region 0 and 2-5

So between the colours and the 5 stats, that's 10 things that have to go the right way for you. Not impossible, but highly unlikely

I don't know, maybe PvE has that setting on. It's also worth noting that these are placeholder Cryos whilst they continue to develop them, at least this way they can get the storage aspect in. Step 1: Craft a Chimney.

Step 2: Send a letter to Raptor Claus between 02:00 and 22:00 (in game). This will show you a status effect from the following:

• nice - you get the item you asked for
• neutral - 😐
• naughty - you get bad stuff like poop/crop plot. If you've been super naughty you may get the Krampus skin.

Step 3: You can be nice by killing aggressive creatures (rexes, thylacoleos etc.), and naughty by killing passive creatures (parasaurs, lystrosaurus, baby dinos etc.). To get Krampus you need to be super naughty, best way to do this is to kill a lot of baby dinos. (massacaring Kairukus is recommended)

Step 4: At the end of the day, go to bed near a christmas tree (crafted in the holiday folder of the smithy), and when Raptor Claus arrives the item will be on/around the bed. Pick it up and pray for 🧝
