I've started playing ASA (or at least, attempting to). When I first installed it the game worked well enough and I was able to play on a cluster for about an hour before logging off. Since then, every time I've started the game I show up as "player 1" rather than myself, and the game cannot find any sessions. I've tried looking online and people suggest verifying, disabling steam cloud, updating drivers etc etc. I've done all these suggestions with no luck. There are countless posts saying "me too" but so far nobody has actually provided a fix and radio silence from Wildcard. Anyone have any ideas?

Solved. Seems like ASA needs to be run directly through Steam in order to log you in correctly, otherwise it logs me in as "player 1" and therefore no sessions found. I was trying to open it through a desktop shortcut I'd created.

Battle eye is a anti cheat are you trying to open in with a ini or cheat on? Try opening ark without anything opened maybe it will work.

2. Turning off RTX and menu animations
3. Rolling back Nvidia drivers

Hoping someone may be able to help with my ASE issue:
I am running a private, modded dedicated server on my own machine. My brothers are playing on the server with me. We played Scorched Earth and defeated the Manticore, and decided to move on to Extinction.

I am able to connect without issues, and one of my brothers is able to connect without issues. The other brother, however, is encountering an issue where he is disconnected after 30 seconds whenever he logs in. He can create a new character and play without issues, until he logs out and tries to connect to the server again. This first happened while he was doing an upload of dinos and items into an obelisk.

When your taming wild tame basilo thats considered early game stat wise. Means no work has been done to improve the dino line with mutations. A wild tame basilo can not reach 75k hp

Nah all you need is a level 135+ to get 600% melee and 50k health. Unless you are really unlucky with wild stats. But yes a wild basilsaur can easily get 600% melee and 75k health. I tamed a 145 and i did get lucky and it got 51 points into both health/melee (though now speed is not a wild stat could be why we see higher wild stats) But it turned out with 600% melee and 95k health.

You can do with 600% melee and 20k health but you are going to spend time force feed healing. Having 50k+ health means you can do your run and leave at surface after to heal.

Hercuules is definetly right to run if you get swarmed by to many sharks. When they get there pack bonus of +8 they become really hard to kill and they can surround you to the point the basilsaur gets stuck and cant escape and it will die unless you have 50k+ health to out tank that

No if you want to run a underwater cave go for a basilsuar. Tusos get wrecked becuase eels do damage to it. Also tuso has a wonky hit box. You end up not being able to hit most the stuff when you get surrounded. Also its alot easier to hit the dunkleos when on tuso and you don't want to have to add things to fight in cave. Plus tuso can't enter half of easy underwater cave unless theres a second entrance i dont know about. Basilsuar all the way.

But tusos for everything else underwater is great.

They tend to be in the upper areas of the water, though sometimes they swim deep. But 9/10 times you will find the, closer to the surface. Also if you increase veiw distance to high or EPIC you can see dinos in the water from alot farther away. Best place to find basilsuars are north ocean side and south ocean side. They can spawn on west side as well but i ussually find them in ice area or around herbi island

So ~ i found a solution to my crashing and I don't know if this will help anyone but I'll share just in case - (My system: Ryzen 7 5800X, Radeon 6900XT, 32GB 3600 DDR4, 512GB 980 PRO M.2) -- My issue was crashing randomly in the open world but also crashing far more frequently right after closing an inventory object (crafting station or storage shelf/box/etc). What fixed it for me was turning off "Enable Foliage and Fluid Interaction" - this, however, makes the ground clutter (rocks and bushes) float above the ground and not conform to the terrain at all making the game very unplayable on hills, mountains, and in jungle. (so 90% of the world). To fix this all you need to do is turn it back on but don't go to the menu to make the engine apply the change. The ground clutter will form to the terrain now but fluid and foliage interaction won't be active because you haven't gone to menu and back. Each time before you log in make sure it is off from the main menu settings and then turn it back ON once you're in game. You will get the "You must go to Main Menu and reload the map for changes to take effect." message - if you have this message and foliage is turned on you SHOULD*** be good.

I did notice a change after that last inventory fix. Prior to that patch, I was getting a lot more inventory crashes when just opening inventory and moving items around. Now, I get no crashes when opening inventory, fewer but still some crashes when moving items (especially when assigning to my hot bar), and a LOT of crashes when closing storage boxes. I get so many when closing storage that I need to remember to save prior to every time I open a storage container.

I do not use that mod, but in my past experience with similar behavior with other mods it usually means that the update either broke the mod entirely, disabled the mod, or the mod released an update which did not download correctly. Try redownloading the mod first.

Okay then there might be a way to manually remove it, but I do not know if you will experience any negative side effects following this process. I advise backing up your save first.

Your mods are stored in a path similar to the following: ..\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK Survival Ascended\ShooterGame\Binaries\Win64\ShooterGame\Mods

Inside of that Mods directory, you are going to see at least one file folder with some numbers for a name. I suspect each folder represents a separate saved world. Mine only has one folder and represents my single player world for The Island.

Inside of that folder will be more folders with a series of numbers. Each of these of these folders represents a single mod that you have installed. If you go inside each of these number folders there should be another folder with a recognizable name for the mod. This is how you figure out which of these "number folders" represents the mod you wish to manually remove. Once you figure out which folder contains that mod, you can move this "number folder" somewhere else temporarily such as your desktop.

Once the mod is moved, try launching the game and see if it appears to be uninstalled.

If all looks well and continues to look good for the next several days of playtime then I would say it is safe to delete the mod entirely. If you experience any issues, then I recommend moving the mod back to where it was originally and restoring the backup of your save.

Yeah, it's a bit of a dumb design on that. And super frustrating, In the end I had to remove them all because the game wouldn't detect the thing as completely removed. At least I don't have to remember a specific mod list for the server though as it will finally install properly before joining.

Make sure you are not in a tame ordering group, if you are you can only whistle tames outside that group directly, not using “all commands”. Press 0 on your numpad until it goes to none (it can switch between 10 and 0), aka group 0 and then you’ll be able to whistle all again to generic tames

Been playing on high textures for a few days and while most things still looked unrendered like rocks and ground, the dinos all looked fine. Since last nights patch whenever I load in all my dino textures are totally broken, no eyes or teeth and janky polygon shapes (not sure how it would be related though since I don’t think the patch touched textures). However, if I switch down to medium textures things actually look better again so I know the high textures are just broken. If I switch to low, it matches what high looks like while medium is the closest looking to epic I can get. Is this just a case of needing to revalidate my files or is this a thing?

If you haven't used stegos in a long time u don't know they do this. They have a thatch only gathering mode, a wood, and a berry. The modes also make the stego fight differently too and you should google those modes.

I honestly feel like now they're trying to hack together server stuff around the low performance of nitrado hosting and now anyone with good hosting solutions are getting screwed as a result. Whatever they did with network movement traffic needs to be undone or given the option to be disabled for people that would like to have a playable game. Sounds like a network problem or storage.. but I might be wrong. :3 Cause mine did ok. Every problem you having among with others have the same problem. Again I might be wrong. Try different a steam library folder or make a fresh different partition of your ssd or hdd that you were using then try again. Always do verify files.

The Fix for Steam Installing stuck at 2% is to wait 15-30 min.

This is due to how Steam is dealing with updates and how ASA is built. This was also affecting Path of Exile before.
Basically, Steam starts counting and forgets to update the counter.
Steam does like open your folder, check your file, check what to change in that one file, then close the folder and repeats.
Then it finishes and updates from 2% to 100%.
If you uninstall and reinstall, Steam is not looking at what changed, but will straight use the new files. If you download 80 GB in less than 20 min, that's also a good solution.

I thought it was maybe because the base had been built up more so i moved to a smaller coastal base. Anyone found a fix for ground/rock/dino textures refusing to load? It's not the worst problem, but definitely pretty jarring seeing origami-dodo and playdoh rocks all around. Stuff only looks right on Epic textures, but that totally kills FPS. High/med/low textures all look exactly the same
