I've been playing on a server for four or so months, and accumulated multiple weeks of playtime on "The Island". However, (and I have used creature finder to confirm this) I have seen exactly 0 Gigas throughout. I have tried adjusting the difficulty level, but all that will spawn are Carchars. I'm trying to beat it "legit" so I don't want to spawn in a Giga, I want one to spawn naturally. So if anyone knows what I could try, or what could be wrong, please let me know

Well a creature uses 4 different multipliers. And one of those multipliers calculates the increase per wild stat point. In ASE a mutation increases the base lvl by 2 levels, so the mutated lvls use the wild increase multplier.

As i understand it now, there will be a fifth multiplier in ASA for mutated stats and i also think that mutations will count seperatly instead of being added to it's base level.

I could explain it much deeper but i think that would just lead to confusion. Hope it is somewhat understandable😅

Hi I have a question hopefully someone here can answer. I intend on playing windows version on asa release but last time I played windows version certain controls were very frustrating such as hovering over meat in dino inventory and holding down 'e' to eat or 't' to transfer and what not, i would manually have to click each action. I have this weird problem for someone reason where everytime I encounter another player on a wyvern or a managarmr or some sort of creature that is very strong and will possibly destroy me in 1v1 my game starts to lag and at times I even crash. I think my system gets afraid of these creatures along with myself as my hands start to get slippery as I sweaty profusely. I think I wil stick to bullying bobs who are a lower status than the bob I am because I certainly cannot keep up with the other people even if they have worse tames or weapons than I do.

the slider is offset not difficulty. some maps will put it to 120 max while others will be 150. console/win10 can use the max difficulty checkbox to force 150. PC has to override it in the ini (guide in pins) since the checkbox is broken

tapejara has similar weight to an argy without levels, and omnidirectional movement. also has way better stamina. i'd say tape is better for traversing the map a lot, while ptera for combat or quick excursions

you could easily get 300+ weight on a tape without even leveling it, then have the rest into stamina

firstly the weight of a crossbow and a bola is neglectable, being not much more than 10, secondly you dont need to tame the first one that comes into your eye. wait for a max level one, then you can take more than "two crossbows and a bola"
also as i said all you need to carry around is food, water, armor, your hotbar, potentially ammo and the stuff you need to do the task that you want to do now
that adds up to maybe 100, and a 200 weight pt can still carry that without being slowed down

i dont see the point in not bringing your usual gear + some task specific stuff so tape is often better for me (since that task specific stuff weighs a ton) then still being able to fly at a moderate pace

The timer doesn't always have to run out. There is a kill count sort of thing right beside your hotbar in the bottom left and if you fill that up, it will kick you off of it and you have to feed it the corpses again to continue the taming

I have a friend who has a server that is joinable by IP. At first, I would join via going into a singleplayer game and typing ".open" and then the IP number. This eventually just resulted in saying timed out. Now, I do it through the steam server menu which worked for a while and has now broke again. The failure message I am getting is "Failure. Did not find any servers at that address. If you know the port the server is using, you might try specifying it."

Take some sleeping bags to put down closeby. That way you can respawn and keep doing it until he is far enough away.

I think your spawn rate might be messed up if there are more than a couple gigas on the map.

sounds to me like you're on single player. Sometimes its better to have learned and not lost. that it is to have learned and lost. so When you respawn hit that good ol' gcm mode through whatever channels you have to do so on WII. and when you jump twice you'll fly super fast

so you'll be unkillable and can fly. double tap jump again to go back to walking/gravity. and retype the gcm command to exit god mode

when you look at Creature Finder are there Carchars that have spawned? I believe they share the same spawn and it feels like they may be given preference. You might have to kill the Carchas until the seed will spawn Gigas. Also Giga and Carcha dont spawn immediately after a dino wipe they take quite a while.

Why does my game always crash when I transfer a dino over to another world in singleplayer?
I died in my Island hardcore world and wanted to transfer the dinos over to my "museum" world on Genesis II, I started by transfering my otter, but it crashed immediately. This has happened a lot before- does anyone know the work around?

Sounds like some kind of data corruption, perhaps... that would be a problem with your game files or maybe low memory (RAM). I'd suggest trying to use a cryopod - but, also do a disc check. Defrag, if you are using an HDD instead of an SSD

Uploading is completely fine with no issues, when I download creatures my computer will sometime freeze and then will kill them.

maternal mutations are passed onto the father, so now theyre counted as paternal mutations when the father has offspring. so you can keep getting maternal mutations on the mother side infinitely, but the father itself cant get any more mutations after 20

well you just have to choose the right server , once on the main menu screen you can go to multiplayer , then you can just find the same server as your friend and join it , if you want to play on a particular server you and your friends can just add the ip to steam and (once in game) change to the favorite tab once in multiplayer and join it , you'll prolly have to download mods tho , considering official servers are closed and most unoffi uses mods

Not so much (for me) ... you can put more otters in the same amount of space, so you get better control of the temperature until you can make your 200-A/C hatchery.

Something else to consider... if you use an argy, you can pick up wild otters, land, and dismount. The argy will still hold the wild otter in its beak while you go kill fish to tame the otter with.

If you've been growing crops, those work better than mejoberries, but still not as good as kibble.

crops actually don't really help much

it takes less of them but it takes roughly the same amount of time

when using kibble, it's the preferred or better

using a lower quality kibble is the absolute worst food, worse than using regular berries

tame one male yuty and get yourself 8 females, park an oviraptor nearby on wander in a cage, and they'll give you all the kibble you'll need

When you're looking at over an hour of forcing narcoberries, even "not much" is better than none.

Even with kibble, it's not instant (depending on your taming settings), so you still have to watch torpor

on vanilla rates at least, kibble taming is an hour and takes 20 kibble, as opposed to 5 hours on crops or mejoberries

I normally go for taming a bronto, they're great for berries.
... well, my first tame is usually a parasaur, then a stego, then an anky, then the bronto

but you can use that to check taming times/costs and adjust it to what your game/server is set to

For most caves, I had been using a beefed-up deino.
Direwolves are good in "bug" caves, barys and thylas set the standard.
Desmos are an excellent choice, too.

Have him check for updates, make sure his xbox live is active, and then load single player and stay on the map for 5-10 minutes. Then log off and try an unofficial server. If it works, then test the non dedicated

Also make sure he is searching the right category. If you have a password, he needs to make sure he is searching the password protected servers.

Haven’t tried it yet - if you torpor a creature down with Bola, can you tranq it via feeding, or does it have to be by clubbing/shooting still?

When it's already knocked out you can keep it asleep feeding it narcoberries, narcotics, or bio toxin

To knock it out, it's only shooting clubbing

The bola just snares it -when it's snared, you can torpor any way that's available to you; fists, clubs, tranq arrows, tranq darts, equus kicks ...
