I've used the free version of Recuva (By CCleaner NOT Wondershare which is appearing when i google) for recovering deleted files. You can try scanning the saves folder to see if it detects anything recoverable. There is a slim chance you might be able to recover an older version intact, but that chance is slim.

First thing you should do is make a backup of all your saves as they stand right now, just copy the folders (ideally to a different drive. You want to avoid writing any data at all to the same drive/partition that held your original save files)

Dragon burn is percentage based so as long as your dinos have a high enough DPS they will likely be fine

i used nitrado and didn't have bad experience with their support. But I have never used gportal so I can't give any fair comparison. Nitrado was fine for me and if i pay for a server again cost would probably be the deciding factor.

They are pretty comparably priced. I have used gportal for several games, and anytime there is a problem and I submit a ticket there is a response in less than 30 minutes. I used nitrado before and it would take days or weeks sometimes

just find a safe spot(check south-west for example) and start building there. Use the stuff around you and when you feel like you are strong enough move forward toward the center. Remember to tame some dinos here and there. Use Dodoex for any in game specific info

Get some tames, build a starter base, and as soon as your airborn the whole map will open up to you. Tame a couple dinos, paras, raptors, moschops. Try and get levels. You can get levels by finding explorer notes, building a lot and killings thing.

Work towards getting decent gear for your level too. Metal picks, crossbows, pikes, stuff like that

If you want a more chill experience with people, try a pve server, but also beware there can be server issues itself, like server lag, could be down, super crowded etc. If you’re content with playing by yourself then do that. What's a good PvE map for two people casually-ish playing for a few hours each night and maybe 6-8 hours a day on weekends? I was doing some research and overall people seem to like Fjordur and Lost Island, but are they good for two players?

I'll be editing the server configs to adjust spawn rates, resource gathering, decay, etc. - if that matters. We've both played about 40 hours of The Island a year ago

I'm having an issue I was hoping to get some advice on, a few days ago I noticed some dinos are spawning with some very psycadelic colors. At first I thought this was a glitch of some kind, but some research suggests it's caused by some summer bash event or something...Anyway I've been trying to disable this event, but I can't get it to work.
I'm playing singleplayer on ps4, I tried typing "None" in the event box on the advanced settings tab, and I also tried putting "ActiveEvent=None" in-game in the admin thingy.
I wiped wild dinos afterwards, but they keep spawning in funky colors.
Any advice to get rid of it?

The only beneifit to a higher level means u have a higher potential for more points into a desired stat. A lvl 150 has a total of 150 points distributed into each stat so each stat CAN be higher than a potential lower level. However I can get screwed and a 140 have more into health and that 150 have wasted points or non needed like a giga with 50 points in oxygen

When Breeding the level is still based on the amounts of points the Dino us all together (and that is decided randomly between the male and female for each stat)

A mutation into any stat adds 2 points into that specific stat therefor adding 2 levels (which u would see if both Dino’s had the exact same stats)

ok so my game runs perfectly fine in full screen mode. but when i change it to full screen borderless it runs terribly. completely locks up. UNLESS i alt tab out of the game. when i alt tab out of the game it runs fine. the only way ive found to fix this is to change the priority of ark in my task manager but that only helps for a little while. eventually after some time the problem just comes back seemingly randomly. it also doesnt really matter what i change the priority to. as long as i change it the game runs fine again. anyone have any ideas on what might be the actual problem?

Strange. Typically games run better in windowed mode. Perhaps try a smaller reso and see if that helps then thatll give you something to work off

it can be a bit time consuming but its not too bad. place your pipes that you actually want things connected to first. like if you know where you want your water tap then place a straight pipe there. then find a place for your inlet. then you can use the flexible pipes to connect the two. flexible pipes take a little bit of time to place down but theyre by far the easiest to make look good

another good trick since pipes dont snap to your foundations it can be hard to line them up pefectly square but if you place a ladder then climb it then look down a bit and jump off everything you place will be perfectly square

There’s also an option in Arks settings that allows you to open up a higher refresh rate. I don’t recall what the setting was called but you have the options of like 10, 20, 40 and 60. It’s a tiny drop down menu. Raising it to 60 should help with the bottlenecking

If you monitor your ram you can see if the mod has a memory leak. The ram will slowly increase over time for no reason, eventually running out and causing a crash

if that's the case there isn't much you can do about it except reporting it to the mod's developer

Ark would indeed need to be on the latest version to play, especially on a server.

If by sync you mean with your steam account then all you should need to do is login. If you mean gameshare that will trigger a license error

From what I have found in my experience and other players too. If you are on a creature when it dies as well as being too far away from it. The dossier will not trigger.

I have a tek rex male w 2 health mutation and 10 female tek rex, i can hold 20 tek rex eggs before i have the encumbered debuff, and i put around 40 inside my argy and then hatch them. Is this enough ? Im playing w boosted settings (mating interval is between 19-15 secs, takes 3-4 secs to poop a fertilised egg, maxdifficulty is 10)

i can't remember the exact number but i think a chance of mutation is 7%, multiplied by 7 different stats to get it in the right one so it's about 1 in every 100 eggs that will have a mutation you want

So I did a big fuck up. Does cheat destroytribedinos destroy dinos in soul balls/cryopods too? I hit our tribes dinos with that command and immediately shut off the server to prevent further damage. I have no back ups like a complete idiot. If our soul balled dinos didnt get destroyed its not the end of the world, but if they did then yea it is the end of the world.

The epic account will need to make a steam account

Then

At the bottom of your friends list, locate the "Connect your social account to find friends on Epic Games" line and click on the link. Click on Steam.

At that point they should be able to see steam friends on epic and vice versa and use the invite option

i think instead of "rarity" you mean "quality", so you mean yellow and blue crates can also contain the rex bp in the brute cave? In that case, yes, according to the loot tables the underwater caves have the rex saddle listed in blue and yellow and red drops

im trying to beat the island solo on alpha before asa comes out, done the Megapithecus all with primitive saddles and the rex with the lowest health was 20k lost, i just want a better rex saddle so im confident for the rest

most of the time its like, ghillie/chitin armour under 200%, but the best gear ive gotten is lockneck w 440% dmg, pump shotty w 531%dmg

if you want to feel mostly legit without punishing yourself, i would drop loot quality back down to 1 and allow yourself to transfer to something like CI to get bps there. Island crates aren't balanced for solo imo, you aren't a tribe of 30 people so doing it all by yourself is masochistic
