easily and intended. just gotta have 2 servers that are clustered.

It's much easier to have two or more dedicated servers running each map constantly with the appropriate cluster IDs setup. If you only have a single server then you have to shut the server down, change the map, and start it again. It's almost inevitable that you will run into /some/ problems but if you're careful to shut the server down correctly and use FTP to take manual backups of the saved arks and player profiles, it shouldn't be too bad. Make backups only when the server is offline.

yeah, most issues with transferring will happen because something crashes as long as the servers are properly clustered anyway.

Best way is to pick it up with something and shoot it’s belly, otherwise you’ll need a lot of tranqs

non-dedi is hosted by you while playing, it has a tether (steam/epic can boost it, don't go above 3k it can cause issues) but it'll always pull into caves, boss arenas, and sometimes randomly. shares save with singleplayer

Dedicated is hosted by a server (or PC) thats not through the client and they aren't hosting while playing at the same time. generally is more stable and has less connectivity issues. doesn't share its save with non-dedi or singleplayer.

there are a lot more bugs on non-dedi then dedicated but dedicated is more complicated to set up and usually needs to be run on a second computer or rented.

But if you’re looking to speed level a good old fashioned note run is gonna be your best bet.

I figured I'll gain some XP grinding out some mats, and then put a box near the last note with everything in it. Then do the note run and craft everything.

Step 1: Join a single-player game of ARK.

Step 3: Obtain your server's connection information in the format of IP:PORT.
Step 4: Type: open IP:PORT and press enter.
You'll likely have to have them try rejoining multiple times.

Before you start the server there will be several settings sliders. Some effect harvest amount, dino tame speed, hunger drain and so on. I would give them a skim and adjust to what feels comfortable

Eh. That sounds like our dated info, or at least a snippet of something else.

So the skins and Chibis and... Etc are mostly event items. The inflatable rex costume was part of the past summer events. When the event was active you would build a new cooking pot and it would have the recipes for the event items.

However events have been canceled as of Christmas 2022 and no longer activate.

To compensate for this so the event items are still available they added them to the gen2 HLNA store.

A VPN is not related to your internet service provider.

Your isp is the people you pay to provide your internet service.

You likly have at least 10 hops from your house to the server host. There could be an issue at any one of them. Your isp may be able to provide more insight.

so im trying to get some mutations for the first time and im wondering if anyone here could provide any clarification on how the matrilineal side of the mutation work. currently doing the thing of having my male mate with a bunch of females and then when i see a male child with +2 levels from the male and a mutation i want i replace the male with that child and continue breeding with the unmutated females. however, i see this only stacking the mutations on the patrilineal side and im wondering if this is going to cost me some effective mutations from the 20 on the matrilineal side. is what im doing the most effective or is there something else im missing?

ARK Breeding = Get Stat you want on male, Breed with 0-0 females, When you get +1 in the stat(mutation) if male breed with the same 0-0 females till you get +1 again in the stat, If female, breed with 0-0 male in hopes of getting a male with your +1 to then breed with the females same as before.

If you get random mutations you are wasting the first 20 yes, Ideally your first 20 should be in the stat you want only.

Yes dedis do now count as enemy structures.
It wasn’t like that when they were first introduced, but like 1 year later they suddenly counted as „enemy structures“. Some old bases still have dedis placed before that change was made, so sometimes you can build there

I cant seem to find an answer online, probably because I'm just blind, but does single-player settings decrease the dino spawns or something? Ive been playing in my world for around 200 hours, doing so dang much searching for gigas/carchas, titanosaurs, rhyniognathas, etc. I mean so much searching, espeically with trying to find rexes with good stats. In that time I've only found one titanosaur, 1 rhyniognatha, and 3 gigas/carchas.. and thats after 3 dino wipes (cheaty but this is ridiculous)

In singleplayer, everything that is not in render is effectively paused. Nothing spawns, moves, etc. You can run ark with the launch parameter

If its loading that many servers it sounds correct. The official servers close in aug which may explain why most have little to no pop. As far as the error joining would need more info. Its likly a connection/regional issue. You can run a pingroute/traceroute to the ip hosting and see if any hops along the way cause latency or try a vpn

I think I figured out transferring spoilable items on official servers. They don't seem to like a second hop.... I gather a spoilable item on the first server, it's ready for upload on the first attempt no problem, I transfer to another server, it stays in my inventory. I wait for the upload timer to reach 0 and attempt to transfer, the timer on said spoilable item has rolled over for another 15 minutes and no matter how much time I wait it will never be ready for upload. Does this sound normal?

Looking for some help... Run an Xbox server on Nitrado Since the Xbox server reset, our "attack your target" and "neutral" creatures are attacking anything that comes into or near our base. If a Petradon go over, everything goes crazy to kill it. If a Stego comes outside our wall, they run to the wall to try and get it. This appears to only happen when I join the server. Any ideas?

so, i was looking forward hoarding all the steam achievements possible for ark in my the island run, and after a long while of taming all dinos for master zoologist (i made a lot of lists, checked multiple times, and im fairly certain i got absolutely everything), i didnt get the achievement when i got the titanosaur (which, after my quetz got trampled by it because of some odd hitbox glitch, i used the forcetame command upon) - i think it's fair to note that i do have mods like paleo ark and ark additions, but i made sure i got vanilla versions of paleo tames, and not all creatures i've tamed are still alive, and 95% of them are in soul balls (also a mod) - is this some sort of conflict with the mods, do i need to take the creatures out of the cryo balls, do i need atleast 1 of each species to be alive? i dont quite know why i didnt get the achievement, really

Neutral dinos attack anything that damages something of your like a tame, player, or a structure. Attack target dinos attack anything that you or another tame attack. Likely your aggressive dinos are getting hit before they can kill whatever and then the neutrals join in.

Id say double check to make each dino is not aggressive

Hi, I'm playing on a private server with 2 of my friends on Fjordur. Were all around level 70-80 and have a permanent base as well as snow owls, maewings and argents. There's just so much to tame on Fjordur like wyverns, drakes, magmasaurs, shadowmanes and were not sure how to progress so whats a priority to start getting early on Fjordur around this level?

I installed mods on steam (3--> S+ structures, the spyglass and play as dino) in steam they seem to be installed but in th game in the mainmenu they are still getting installed, nothing gets shown, nothing works. This is a bit longer now, I reinstalled the game today, the game itself works, just not the mods. How to fix it?

Installing recently added mods after launching the game is normal. Just have to wait until they’re finished.

ya ok so its a story. So i got ark on my new PC and launched it, the graphics were looking bad so I changed them but it didnt look any different so I set it to "custom" and put 9999 9999 as the graphics... I was stupid to do so. anyways now whenever I try to launch ark it crashes immediately cause the graphics are too high.

Do so. You have to full reinstall cause apparently you locked yourself out of the game.

When you uninstall, make sure you clear cached data and wipe all files involved with ark.

Also make sure you pc can even handle ark as it IS a powerful game to run

When you first start Ark it should give you multiple options to choose from including to run with low graphics I believe. Maybe try that first.

having them wipe constantly sounds like it would cause more problems than it would solve

finally find a 150 and it randomly wipes before you get a chance to tame it, killing a fat alpha rex and it despawns with only 1000 hp to go

Yes! In the settings of your world (only on single player)

When you click on "Host / local"at the headmenu you see the settings on the left side, then you can adapt the difficulity

You can increase difficulty, on any mode but official. Even on a nitrado server through their setup menu

This will increase the range of levels dinos spawn to a higher level. It will not however make higher percentage of high levels spawn. That cannot be done.

This isn't going to change the frequency of the high levels. The frequency of level spawns are distributed differently on different maps. The Island has a pretty low distribution for high levels. I'm pretty sure someone has made charts for each map
