it's possible your outlets aren't connected. it can be hard to tell sometimes. maybe try experimenting with placement of it, or replace turrets. if any of it's under water that can make it not turn on as well. for the generator I know at least I'm not sure about cables.

If it crashes after adding Saved back, it's in the normal inis- So you could remove Saved>Config and see if that works without crashing, and from there find the problematic file or edit (probably whatever you did for shadows). As a singleplayer player, is it worth buying the genesis pass? I have currently played every story map from start to beginning without transferring anything but my character across arks, I am currently nearing the end of extinction and am deciding whether I should go for genesis or end it here on extinction.

Issue is, I've only heard negative things about genesis 1 so far. I even heard it is (almost(?)) not possible to do in singleplayer, is this true?
Furthermore how does genesis 2 compare? I heard its a lot better but was very controversial in servers because of the sheer power of the loot/dinos etc. there but how does it hold up in singleplayer?

All in all, I am just very divided about whether or not I should use my scarce money on the genesis pass.

@sudden night Well as you know, the genesis maps continue the story canon, setting up then the story to come with Ark 2. Gen1 is very different game play from the previous dlc's(ie it has mini games, some requiring people to play together) however, you can use admin commands to circumvent those if you wish in single player, though some people like some of those mini games. Gen2 returns a bit back to the previous dlc's game play but with some differences. My best suggestion to you is for you to watch youtube vids and decide for yourself. But if you are limited on your finances with getting it, then at the very least you can wait until the xmas sale to pick it up or just simply not get it. You 3 canon dlc's and 6 free dlc maps to choose from and not to mention the plethora of mod maps too. Plenty of options really.

i got them to stop crashing - and in turn they started crashing my friend's ark game when they tried to search for the server lol. now they are crashing again. really not having much luck

guessing by the stack trace, the game is trying to load a class (because some other class depends on it), it goes through its functions, tries to load some internal data, and game dies when loading some other dependency. could be a property type or something. so hard to tell other than "some sort of asset corruption or really incompatible, old files"

When ever I try to load in to my friend's non-dedicated server, the following happens. All trees and rocks respawn, all other players freeze, structures disappear, can't take damage. Level distribution is broken on the first 4 story maps, so you would need to either rewrite spawns or use mods to counteract the distribution.

If you want to just change the level cap (not distribution) you will need to change OverrideOfficialDifficulty in your gameusersettings.ini

Delay; it seems like a rough loading lag, from what one gets when coming across massive bases, but it lasts for 5-10 minutes whether I'm at a base or not, and happens whether I'm on a heavily modded server (30+ mods, some huge creature/wardrobe) or a lightly modded server (less than 20 smaller mods). I have 2 creatures out on one server, and as far as structures go, I've got a tiny base there. The other server has a small village with more creatures, but both stutter/lag equally. No large overhaul mods (like PF etc) on either.

I did have some trouble with my GPU software (Radeon Adrenaline) conking out a few days ago, but I've since wiped, reinstalled and updated.

I have never had this issue on any servers before. I just hope it's not a driver issue still..

Not exactly? It's more like back when I had ark on an hdd and only had 8bg of ram - afking on base until everything loaded up was the solution there. But that affected SP and non-dedicated games strongly, while here SP is perfectly fine.

I will say that one of the servers has a LOT of SS creature spawns on it, but that's nothing new. The other one doesn't have SS at all.

Inventories I can still open etc without issue.

Also of note - I have a lot of mods running on my SP as well (~18, some large creature mods).

I accidentally flew over the murder snow on Rag for like 5 seconds and died, and now I can't get my stuff back without dying instantly again. I can't get full fur armor right now, and even if I could it wouldn't matter. I just need to turn off freezing for like 30 seconds to get to my body.
