The spoil setting is what effects their decay speed but that setting also affects all other items that spoil on the server

It is recommended to regularly do wyvern egg wipes, to allow fresh eggs to be spawned in with 0 issue

After a wipe, generally speaking it can take Ark 30 mins before the entire map is repopulated.

If I was in your position, I would head to the cave, do the wipe to ensure the eggs are removed, then come back in 30 mins to check on the progress

The pipe allows admins to use those 2 admin commands at the same time. Son in this instance if I used the wyvern one, it would wipe their eggs and nests

You can do them individually if you want though

I prefer the pipe method, as you can string all those commands together. For a mass wipe which saves so much time

i am trying to get loot crates from the underwater caves on the island in singleplayer, they don't seem to be spawning a lot, unless i wait a long time. I heard it takes 45 min for it to spawn in, should i just wait a long time to get it to spawn in?

Oh and another issue popped up, it seems all the explorer notes i collected have vanished from the menu, when i rediscover them i don't get exp boost, which means something must have happened...

why do rock drakes get pushed around so easily? its very annoying when in combat and you cant attack because even the basic enemies make the rock drake lift off into the air

a mf megalosaurus pushed me like 100 feet into the element water and I couldnt do shit about it >_>

How u get pushed around? Rock drakes take very reduced knockback compared to other tames

its just that anything that is medium size or above touches my rock drake, it makes my rock drake lift into the air

and if the enemy is moving forward it means I am basically floating on its body and I get pushed

also I noticed that if dinos die in lava or in this case, the element water they do not leave a death message on your screen or in tribe log which is very frustrating as well

then add onto the fact that the dinos just decide to stay in the element water and not even try to escape if you do die on their backs...

I am at that point where taming gets trivial. But it is a pain to tame stuff again, especially if they are not directly to breeding.

Nests on other maps is not naturally a feature of the dino so the mod would have had to do ‘something’ to spawn them there. That could be flat out modding the wyverns/their eggs and nests

they aren't tamable during this event. event content usually gets removed after the event ends. it might be different this year not sure if they are keeping the events after or adding them all at the end of the year as this is the last year of events.

dodorex are temporary tames without mods anyway.

Y'all might laugh, but I'm terrified of sharks, as such haven't explored the ocean on the original map I played on (Ragnarok) or Fjordur which I just transferred to. BUT I need black pearls and Fungal Wood.

Aside from the 2 fungal wood that spawn above ground, can I tame a beaver and tell it to harvest fungal wood just off shores without being on it? (And Can it survive/how do I stop it being eaten?)

Is there an ok way of getting black pearls that's not super dangerous or should I try my luck taming Gachas?

(I was on default single player difficulty on Rag but made it max difficulty for Fjordur so everything is newly scary again. Highest wyvern is like 98 and I've only tamed like a few things on Fjordur. I host non dedicated because I can sometimes convince my partner to play with me, but it's rare and he gets tethered.)

Taming gachas is going to be more dangerous. Instead of going for black pearls and fungal wood that early, it might be better to spend some time and get some decent leveled dinos. Andrewsarchus are really easy, and will make the ocean a lot safer

I was really hoping to get some Shadowmanes and I know they're a pain to tame. But I figured in the water if a shark comes near me I can like warp away. (hence the fungal wood). Is it the Gachas that are dangerous or the environment they're in?

While some of it is afk for babies etc I've done 536 hours (and like high 400s or maybe 500 ish were in Ragnarok) I've been too scared to go into the water like at all (even god mode flying around other maps just to check them out) but I know there are a lot of important things down there (which sucks for me).

(oh I should mention, I did bring a whole heap of stuff over from the other map too, I don't like completely starting from scratch)

I dont know what you mean by warp away. Gachas arent dangerous, but the area they live in is. If you are spending too much time afk for hatching I would recommend speeding up the breeding/maturation rates

Some possibilities are that your folder is read only because it is open by another application, the folder itself could be set to read only by the peoperties, or you may need to run the game in admin mode depending on the permissions on the pc, you can also try forcing a save and seeing if that fixes anything with "admincheat saveworld"

Not exactly. Like wivern said, the 255 cap is for the amount of points in one stat, not the mutations a creature has. The mutations on the counters are also completely separate from the actual stat boosts, so you can’t just have ‘254 for each gender’ since the counter can easily be moved to the other side. Since the idea of gendered mutations disappears as soon as the baby is born, it doesn’t matter which parent has the mutations, as long as one does and the other doesn’t.

How to start/join ark non-dedicated:

Important: if the host already has hosted a non-dedicated session, they will have to close ark and launch it again
also this might not work for you but this works very reliably for us

1: start ark and wait at least 1-3 minutes (if you don't ark might freeze and the host will have to restart their game)

2: have the host start loading the game, make sure the host will tell you as soon as they are in the game

3: join the host through steam as soon as they have loaded, no earlier (and not much later or it will say timed out)

4: enjoy (and also dont log out or you will have to completely close ark and repeat)

Things I learned from using non-dedicated:

When the host loads in there is roughly a 3 minute "grace period" where you can join (maybe less, more testing is needed), if you wait longer than that you will get the timed out error

It is always good for both players to close ark completly and start it from steam (not always necessary but its not much of an inconvenience)

If you have already attempted to join the host, and the host only re-loads the save without closing the game, you will get a pending session error

If you disconnect the host will have to completely restart their game

Using the portal room in fjordur to go to asgard puts me in the middle of the ocean off the coast from the portal room still in Midgard. Trying to fight the alpha fenrisulfr using the obelisk, ported all dinos and survivors that were supposed to go to the boss zone into the middle of the ocean and it also ported fenrisulfr into the middle of the Ocean.

you have like ... a 2% chance to get a mutation (it's not really 2% but we'll just say it's really low)

so for every female you have is a chance to get a mutation.

lot of people use "50 females" just to increase the mutation chances you don't nessicarily have to use that many though

fitting 50 females into breeding range is pretty hard but the 2 most common methods ive seen is using the "dinos float on structures even if you break them" exploit for more space or arranging all the females as babies so when they grow up, theyre all stuck together

also its a roughly 7.31% chance to get a mutation in any given stat

thing is the whole odds vs chances bit. the chances go up but the odds stay the same so, you can use 100 females and still not get a mutation

which is indeed more than 2%

your just playing a game you have a 2% chance to win 50 times. dosent mean you have a 100% chance to beat it
