I am not the best at figuring out how to fix crashes, but sp non dedi servers do often have issues. You could wait until eclipse or someone who knows crashes better gets on, or you could try hosting a dedicated server instead of nondedicated

Me and friend just went down for a second time into the south cave. No enemies anywhere in the cave except a few spiders, however, friend jumped into a pool of water and 10 caterpillars, 18 snakes and 4 sarcos was waiting in the pool of water.. Took us the better part of an hour to get our gear back

Not to mention the probably around 20-30 piranhas that was waiting in there too. The entire screen was covered with yellow text....

The cave itself is easy. Its just the fact that they all seem to find themselves stuck in the lakes. And the pirahnas die if you go above ground cause they glitch and end up above water momentarily.

Dinos/enemies is just so utterly bugged out. And the fact that they use simple sphere collisions and server side hit checking w/o animation awareness is just hilariously badly done...

but also.. most games will start to get wonky on ping, its not like ark is the only game that has issues when your inputs are on a large delay

The devs said so themselves, in MP (esp. dedicated server), they do not use true collision, they use an approximated sphere, which does Not take animations into account, so hitting the head of a dino from the side can be nearly impossible cause the sphere simply does not extend to cover more than the torso.

If you run single player or listen-server, models and animations are loaded and possibly work differently

I'm having an issue on a hosted server where it is EXTREMELY difficult to find dinos above level 70ish on the fjordur map. We have found a handfull of max level stuff, but anything over 100 is very uncommon. Would a difficulty offset of 0.5 cause that?

A few methods:

1. On Fjordur there are "honey rocks" that can be mined with hand tools. (Not sure about other maps, as this is a new thing)
2. On at least a few maps, there are "bee caves" with giant hives that you can harvest with hand tools or (ideally) a chainsaw.
3. Or the oldest method: attack a beehive to provoke bees, and keep doing this until the queen leaves the hive. Chase her and feed her rare flowers to tame her.

Epic being your platform shouldn't make any of this different afaik

With deinons you shouldn't be worrying about damage anyway- they'll get shredded no matter what. they're only good because you can cheese them into a position where the dragon can't hit them

Bite damage barely matters for dragon anyway, the % DOT of the fire is the real killer
