Just a couple of questions regarding building. I'm starting ab for the first time soon, followed ofc by extinction for the first time. Firstly, is the amphitheater on extinction completely flat? If not, where is the best place to build if I want a massive mega base? Preferably in the city so I don't have to worry about meteors. Secondly, does anyone have a good mega base design for ab/extinction (primarily extinction)? Preferably not a "modern" design. Just a really cool base that can fit everything I need in it

Change the walls to frontier skin, take off Tek. Add pillars at corners & keep it steampunk skinned, reskin rails to steampunk also. Keep door frames/ gate frame also steampunk. Add the reinforced door/reinforced gate, don’t skin unless you like it. Use frontier for floors & ceilings.

^ could use frontier but I think the astraeos skins are much prettier- especially the floors! they could elevate the build to look more like a mansion

if they mixed in some of the steampunk wall variants and rotations with normal stone walls, like Draco has in the replied post, it would be good. its just that the default steampunk wall is very busy and repetitive.
since all faces of the build are flat walls with something in the middle, the window on the tower on the right might look better as two smaller recessed windows or a big bay window instead of in line with the rest of the surface.
the left section could be stone/steampunk on the bottom and wood on the second floor. adding more wood to one side would lean more into the asymmetry of the build.
a layer of quarter walls or horizontal pillars around the porch roof in the middle would make it look more sturdy
could paint the tek gates something warmer or whiter so they dont stand out so much

I agree, the Steampunk wall has a lot of information which makes the base look too heavy, but since I play on an official server, I need to avoid the structure limit, so I use the large walls, and they don't have one of the variations that small walls have, which are less detailed. and the base is all metal because it has a longer decay time.
I'm going to make some changes with the Frontiers to see how it goes, but thanks for the suggestions.

The general answer is, I started messing around with cosmetics for the first time. As for the airborne appearance. It's built upon foundations hidden in the water, two pillars were raised through the water and skinned to be transparent and then I built it upon that. The UFO was because I didn't have a good place to put my Oasauraurus, I so I built something for it lol

thank you 🙂 heres few more of the build i think your talking about. i wish i had more inside photos. i couldnt even do it justice by explaining how crazy it was lol the cave was actually huge. it fit a brachi no problem and looked like an underground city with inside walls all having little village style kinda look to it, like underground dwarven city is what i was trying to achieve. theres couple inside pics showing the level of detail that went into each room or section though with bear skin rug and shadow mane statue and fish tanks lol. and included few pics of the before and after of the breeding pen somewhat outside the cave but still attached to actual build similar to astraeos build at titans hold i shared. big fan of caves and having somewhat open concept breeding aviary

regarding the building and being in the walls/terrian this is in fact a cave of sorts more of hallway cave though, it has 16 entrances, some behe gate sizes (2) dino gate size (5) and secret door wall size (9) its not huge cave but also not small you can fit alot in there. easily fit bronto and brachi but tight squeeze for brachi.

another thing to note as well is im playing on my own server so i have Collison setting turned off. sorry cant remember exact name my English isnt great. but it allows you to clip into ground or walls pretty far. so on official as far as i known the game wont let you build if ground/terrian is in way.

I need help with my base☠️ I only got 3 Dodos, 1 Dilo, 1 Triceratops. My house got a compost Bin, campfire, 3 boxes and a mortal/pestle. Idek where to start and how I should start. I feel like this is a bad place to build a base. But I know deep down that I ain’t going to survive anywhere else😭💀

To be honest, when you're just starting out most people build a starter base wherever they can. After you get more established you can find a better spot for something bigger/more complex! So don't worry about it too much, and make yourself a little box for now, that's totally fine.

when you use the smal quarter stone press R than it changes into fences, but you could make them with glas later so ther einvisible but i think if you use quarter stones between them 2 next to each other would be nice

In ASE your best option is to try to snap fence foundations on the inside of the walls and place railings on top of the fence foundations. It's been so long that I can't remember if the game even allows that or not. If that doesn't work, you'd have to place a ceiling outside, snap the fence foundation to that, and have your fences snapped to the outside of the walls instead. Pick up the ceiling and repeat. I do know that will work for sure.

On second thought, put railings on inside ceilings and walls on temporary outside ceiling.

This is one of the biggest problems with building in ASE. I recommend building ceilings out from one column and then pillaring down, building out, pillaring down, etc. You will run into this issue if you place all of your pillars first. It's been a long time since I've played ASE though, so I may be remembering wrong.

looks good without mods so far, that prop is such a mix of greebles and stamped brass, it would be hard to replicate the surface like for like, but the the fact you got the shape so spot on is epic. you could park a hover skiff outside it for the full blade runner effect lol. Flaming tribe towers would also be very blade runner esque.

Anyone have a scorched base tutorial using adobe? I can’t find a single one on YT, and I’m to the point where I should not be living in a tent with my wyverns outside

Tek or adobe will protect you from the heat. but if you are building big enough to breed. you will always have the sand storms even inside. anything over 6 walls high or larger then a 10X10.

You don't need any mods for the main build itself, the mods were only decor mods for the interior furniture (western decor, steampunk decor and castle dedor) little bits taken from each

Thanks @tawdry willow for your ultimate Steampunk Base tutorial on youtube, i built it and added a tribe tower to the side, can't remember what all the mods we used were but went a bit mad with the scribbles paint sprayer (that thing never runs out)

also used the rustic lifts at the front to take me down to the water below, here i am in bed, used pillars and place quarter ceiling tiles on top covered with astreos skins (the free ones) then added curtains around it (not sure which mod they are from sorry)

this is for sure the best skin made so far sandi!!!! i love it, just the fact that you have a bear skin for the transmitter in the pack is amasing ❤️ and you are the only one focusing to try to find matching skins for all the tek items as well (that is also the reason why i really love your work) cus lets be honest, who wants to have tekitems looking like tek in their cabin style base 😄
