So I just started playing Ark a few days ago, I'm playing singleplayer, and I'm having serious trouble with piranhas. All my stuff is stuck in a small pond with two of them in it, and they pretty much three shot me so I can't get my stuff out. I've tried hitting them with the stone hatchet, even put a spear through one of them, they just don't give a shit, how do I kill them? I don't have much time before my stuff despawns.
And the pond is just barely too long to swim across without dying, much less grabbing my stuff and not dying.

the 3 realms other than the main map are called Vanaheim, Asgard, and Jotunheim. If you are on these, you will not be able to fly. If you teleport to any of the other teleport locations, you can fly because thats the main map, provided you arent in a cave.

Expanding on the answer above, they will spoil fairly quickly, but you can cheese it by releasing the fish (as a tame) and cryopod it. Then later when you think you have enough to begin taming, you can uncryo and re-basket a few at a time as needed.

Stick to travelling along beach fronts as much as possible, the are usually too shallow for Leeds. If you do need to go over deep parts, plan it so you take the shortest/direct route.
If you have honey, you can chuck that out to distract the Leeds if it attacks. Also, keep mats for repairing the raft on you. So you can repair as is hits each time.

They are quite slow so the only time you'll need to worry is catching it when it runs
If you've got good aim you can bring it down without it getting too far but you might need to hop on your pt to track it down before it passes out

Sometimes it takes a few times logging out and in. Try completely restarting the game too.

Have you checked the buttons along the top of the engram page? They show and unshow map engrams
