Well a tip for you is to build small 1X1 shacks with basic starting gear like a smithy metal tools etc so if they wipe your main base you still have those little shacks to bounce back faster

Look for a big trench with brontos all around. Start by killing pteranodons and stuff and you'll accumulate a swarm of fjordhawks. Then once you have them, kill the brontos, dismount, and stand by the bodies. The fjordhawks will eat them and tame

The reason why some server have no pickup counter is because they added something in their game ini

This is a pc only thing tho, id remember how to get to the gameusersettings.ini on win10 ark but if you find that and go in it go down under server settings and add AllowStructurePickup=True and save ur changes, load ark up and ur good
