Aberration is easily my favorite map. Yeah, when I first started I died constantly, but I quickly came up with a strategy to stay alive, and it worked very well from that point. You don't just run around half-cocked on aberration. When you leave your base you have a plan, and you prepare for it.

I found a safe spot near the starting area where nothing bad ever seems to wander. I grabbed a parasaur and put him on radar duty just to help keep an eye. I was up on a cliff, I slowly built a long ladder to get down from the cliff to where the water, crabs, spinos and carnos were. I had a stone base prepared to set up, so I threw down the walls and made myself safe. Then I started preparing traps to trap the dinos, but I trapped multiple high level carnos and eventually a high level spino when one presented itself. At that point I moved my base to the blue zone and found a fairly safe spot there and that was my permanent base. Took groups down to get an egg, looked up a guide on how to fly down there with a glider suit and climb back up to save some headaches. But at that point I'd already started breeding carnos and there wasn't really anything that was a threat. Even if I went out with just one carno at this point, I'd be fine because it'd absolutely shred any raptors. They have well over 1000 melee.

I always use pack animals early on too. I start most maps with a no flyer rule for a bit. Just started lost island a week and a half ago. Did 1 week without a flyer. Had a train of parasaurs to go get metal. I also had 2 high level sabertooths and a high level raptor with me too.

I start in the normal starting point. You know that big room that has the metal pathway that goes straight for awhile and there it hits a metal wall? Yes, it might be a bit dangerous there to start, but if you avoid any raptors or that wandering basilisk and just go forward and to the left.

When you go forward, go to the left, and behind that metal wall there is like.. a darker are with a bit of a forest in it.

on the far side of that area there is a wall that separates that dark room from the cliff on the other side.

You can build up against that wall. In all the time I was there, I never saw anything dangerous wander up there.

No basilisk, no raptors, nothing.

That will let you get established. You can make a small stone base with a dino gate and a small yard and tame some raptors and parasaurs.

On the other side of that wall is the cliff that overlooks spino and crab river.

Sometimes an aggressive dino spawns on the other side, but it never aggros and comes around.

Then when you're built up a bit, you can go around the wall, to the left there is like a huge rock near the river, at the base of it is a bunch of small rocks. I built a foundation and then a hatchfrom right there on the cliff edge. and built like 20-30 ladders straight down.

and you also get a bunch of levels from the explorer notes already in that area

then built my base directly below that. used the huge rock as a wall, cliff as the other and made 2 walls with gates to seal it up.

At that point you're well established. Spinos and carnos spawn right there. Easy to make a stone trap and tame some.

and that base will give you lots of space to keep some in there.

Legacy is it’s own cluster of server, that basically existed when ark launched in 2015.
it’s separated for a while and they do not support those servers (meaning: no results on griefing others etc as you can’t put in tickets for legacy, best is to avoid them therefore completely).
Also they take those servers down slowly, no one knows how long this cluster will exist

All servers that are labeled as “official” in the respective server filter option.
Technically, legacy IS official too, but only on paper / hosted by WildCard. They aren’t supported (“Wild lawless West” so to speak), but all legacy servers have “legacy” in their name to help distinguish them.
You can report outages that are NOT legacy -so obviously normal official servers- using #server-reports (if the website works, that is. It was down earlier)

There is and acid pool in the Rockwell innerts, just lure a reaper queen in and wait for it's life to go under 2khp ( you'll see a pink glow), once that's done, lure it outside of the acid and get close to it and it'll grab you and you'll get a reaper (inside you XD)

You can't take them. The only bosses that "accept" them are Ice/Forest/Desert/King titan (found on Extinction map), since their spawn is on the main map - not on arena

That's why people use Rexes/Theri's for bosses

No need, breeding ground is mostly intact bar 2 missing egg incubators but i can replace those and i have a male and female for every creature type i care about to replace the lost eggs, base is untouched but a lot of my argentavises look agitated so i know someone tried to get close to the base and was repelled by the forcefield, numerous creatures, and tek turrets

Bro my server just crashed right when i was loading in. I join back, i lose my inventory(pretty loaded) and i get kicked from my tribe. my structures are still there, but i dont own them anymore (i was only tribe member, so also leader ofc). Anyone has a fix

not really, unless it rollbacks the server to a save where you are still IN the tribe, nothing you personally can do. would have to submit a ticket with wildcard so they put you back inside of the tribe

wellllll, back when i had my own server on an actual decent machine (upgraded hardware, dedicated CPU, and NOT using nitrado like wildcard does) it never crashed once actually, despite running many mods lmao.
just the work to keep everything updated etc was crazy alone ^^

i think i paid like 80% more than the basic rates for extra RAM and they guaranteed me (as yet another costly addition) that i would have an own machine/dedicated CPU instead of a virtualized one like the "rest" on the normal/default plan.
I didnt have like a ton of players either, tho. so maybe it crashed and came back up on its own when no one was playing, but i specifically said to report any crash to me (mainly because of possible refunding of lost dinos etc, that i would have returned in case of an actual crash that i would be able to see and verify in my log files)
