I personally wish I could just remove the decay timer, how I like to play my games.

I vaguely recall corpse decay and spoil timer is different.

Poop and eggs have different decay timers, configs control both, not seperately :/

I do have an issue with trees outside the base though. They don't come back... and it's not even close by to my buildings. There were a few I'd use over and over again but now they are gone.

I heard that was an issue with singleplayers, when stuff just stops respawning. I had been using a second computer to host a non-dedi for myself to not encounter the no respawn bug.

But I am vaguely recalling so I could be terribly mistaken.

His character didn’t wipe. If it was in upload he’d have the option to download on the server that crashed. What likely happened is he transferred, the server crashed and then loaded a save that was made before his character existed on the server. There’s no getting them back.

Higher levels will have higher base health. Try that. Also if you can get a snow owl you can heal them up when they start to get bloody.

Temp and torpor. The difficulty just makes the dinos max level cap higher, a Rex is still a Rex and gonna kill you. Higher difficulty actually makes the game easier due to increased access to more powerful tames.

Officials max level on normal wild dinos is 150. If you match this on your server you’ll die the same amount you do now but your tames will die less, which after you have a few good tames you’ll find you can handle pretty much anything short of a giga or alpha Rex

If you're playing on a server that allows transfers then they should be able to make one for you on genesis and bring it back to you, yes. I believe you can also learn the engram on a free map like Lost Island then go back and make one of your own. (Unless they disabled that option when transfers opened.)

pft, it can be a challenging game but if you don't like a challenge then maybe you wasted your money. It gets easier to stay alive as you level up more. Stay away from aggressive creatures for a while and just craft new things. Learn new engrams and craft more things. Put levels into about 400 lbs of weight before you level anything else and you can gather more and craft more and level faster. You'll be able to make armor and weapons soon that'll keep you alive longer.

For rexes you gotta check internet but therizinos are probably best option since they are immune to fire damage can regen by eating veggie cakes and dont get extra damages since they are herbkvores
