ARK has set goals in mind, but the awesome thing about it (one of many) is that you can set your own goals, such as Beat gen 2 without a teksuit, play the game and only tame passive dinos or Build a castle! And about what you should do in order... I recommend you read explorer notes to understand the story and progress from one ark (map) to another in a chronological order, that seems to be the best way to explore the game at first

And if you don't have all explorer notes... maybe head to Ark Wiki and search Explorer Notes and just... read lol

On the island first settle down, get some basic tames that will allow you to gather all tributes and artifacts needed for the bosses, then depending on what you prioritize, experiencing the game at its fullest or progressing onto the next map, you will want to tame all cool dinos it has to offer or if you want to fight the bosses, breed an army of rexes and allos/therizinos and allos or just any strong dino that can enter boss fights and get some mutations and you're good to go 🙂

Although, Swamp Cave with a Megatherium can land you like 40k chitin with barely any effort

I need to double check what to level for just snow owl healing, and does the R-Snow Owl behave any differently other than being way more mean?

Oh, well, I first tried to trap them in Gen 2 cause they seem to have more higher level ones available, but not really. The higher level ones are in spots that are complicated almost all the time... The Maewings are a walk to tame though... I just noticed 2 females can make two eggs, but then I tried two male Griffins, and they didn't do anything.

yeah. owl heal used to be based on the base hp of the dino that was being healed, but now it is based on base hp of the owl

for pellets? level doesnt matter, just use the freeze until you have no stam and spam poop button until you have as many as you want

I'm gonna use owls for two types of uses: healing wyvern babies until adulthood because I'm still chicken to trap wyverns given I'm uncertain what flier I should use to run them into wyvern traps... and second: Gacha 2x production multipliers like oviraptors kinda do for eggs, for crystals from Gachas...

Yup, but until I have the industrial factories set up like 15 foundations apart, I want to see one owl produce alot of pellets and then I'll put it into my two Gachas and see how it works out.

Not sure of a mod that deals with the tether but some steam players have noted that they were able to edit the tether setting in the main menu to the point where the tether distance was so massive it did not affect any gameplay.

Unfortunately I do not know the number they set it to, so all I can recommend is play around with it.

you get them by beating bosses, and you can read their wiki pages to know what they do

there's a few exceptions with gen 2 items which aren't exactly "tek" but they're still tek

you can also only use tek items if you have the required tekgrams
