I was on Ragnarok and located my first cave. I was both nervous and excited. After 10-15 minutes (And a lot of exploring), I came across a loot crate. I saw what was in it before I even opened it, but when I did, there was an ascendant chitin helmet with ~477.2 armor points. Excited, I immediately put it on, knowing I'd be much safer, and that it was a significant upgrade from my hide hat, which only gave me 20 armor points.
I began leaving, stupidly forgetting not to save or make a backup save.
Then my game crashed. It did not save.

You can also launch the game and look at available maps, if you own it. Single player or server lists. If discord isn't really something you like messing with.

Wyverns drop 400 food an hour when babies. That amount slowly decreases as the grow. Wyvern and byson milk are a base 1200 food. Wyverns have to drop enough food to consume it for that amount. So some babies, especially those with low food values (the maximum number of current food / max food) have a harder time until they are older. As they cannot access their full maximum food until adults. Same with their health and weight. So in that instance you have to put the milk in their inventory and force feed them.

Try killing the manticore on SE. Seen several wyvern chibis drop from it in the half dozen times I've done it. Some chibis may be rarer and more likely to drop from boss loot over event.

Ragnarok, Astraeos, Valguero, and Center are just extra maps you can live on, etc with nice views. Astraeos is a very big map with most dinos and the mechanics of extinction with drops and veins. It is a paid DLC map. The rest are included in the base game aside from LC which is the newest story map.

Believe you have to go into the server settings and files possibly. I recall on ASE we used some dino spawners and our server admin had to tinker with them to get them not to just go nuts. But I do not know exactly how they did it. Might see if the mod has FAQ / support pages or a discord for that info too.

Lot of that depends on what you want to do. Do you want to play the story maps through? Do you need the unlocks? Or do you have a character already with unlocks and levels? If you want to get tek fast Extinction or Astraeos will give you the biggest access to element, etc. If you aren't worried about that just about any map can be fun. If you want more people Astraeos, Lost Colony, Ragnarok, Center, and Valguero are probably going to be the most active. Some Island, SE, and Ab servers will also be active but most people I think main other maps and just keep those rendered unless they are working on projects.

Has any1 done Alpha Dragon solo recently? I am preparing for it currently (breeding/mutating theris).
My attempt at beta some weeks ago went well until at some moment my brain decided to go dumb and I dismounted and got killed by the adds. However I think I either would have not gotten it. This was with unmutated stats.

Some YouTuber showed that Dragon mechanics slightly changed, in that the Dragon uses the fire breath more frequently than what can be countered with veggie cakes. This leads me to believe that one shall use BTT extinguishers in the fight, what I am planning to do.
Any1 done this successfully? Between the adds phases, when youre sitting there on the yuti and the theris attack, there seems to be plenty of time to throw extinguishers.

My theri stats currently sit around 47/46 (base) + 20 (mut) in both health and melee (have yet to level one to see where I end up at). Any1 have a rough estimate of what could be considered working stats for alpha?

Which bosses are they good against? I read that not very good against dragon, and I already beat alpha spider, ape and manticore, as well as the 3 easy titans. I do have pretty good pyromanes tho (51/47/46 unmutated)

Actually the pyros dont take damage from the dragons fire breath so theres that. But that being said you need top stat pyros for alpha dragon, aim for at least 20,000–30,000 HP and 1,500%–1,800%+ Melee damage. I usually have 2000 melee and 28-30k hp on my top pyros. Just watch out for water like with the spider.

Ive done it successfully with Deinosuchus around 30k hp and 1200 melee using Extinguishers + Yuty but its pretty sketchy I have to say

Best way is get yourself a Deinonychus from Val and have your herbivores or Pyro tank and you should have it down very quickly 😌

I used 1 yuty, 4 deinotheriums and 15 theris for the Alpha Lost King. The tames had no mutations and only used 2-3 cakes each. The flamethrower guys are only really a threat to riders and that can be countered with wearing decent Hazard Gear then switching to high durability Flak for the Queen. The main threat the Lost have against your tames is Thylas with the bleed and Ossidons getting them stuck in the terrain without you noticing which prevents you triggering the king fight.

I just saw RaassClark's video on how strong the Acro was, and I noticed that the Titans, and the titans only, applied the single player debuff where they take 3x damage. The other bosses did not receive this Debuff for some reason.

It is strange that the debuff would be inconsistent between island bosses and titans. That has to be a bug.

But even if it is a bug, the debuff should be uniform, and we should be given the option to turn the debuff on or off. It's really unfortunate that we are forced into trivializing bosses when we want the full challenge in single player.

Well the bad news that if you're able to play on extinction then it's too late. They've already got your money. There won't be any changes in ASA. They already dangled that carrot in front of us before the game even launched. "You'll just have to see what we do about anticheat." Nothing. Got it. Chances are you can't get a refund.

For reference, I just successfully beat alpha dragon with 19 theris and 1 yuti. Theris had 21k health and 1064% melee. Each had 50 cackes. I used extinguisher grenades, which helped well, however, I was not smart enough to position myself well, and upon first dismount my yuti ran towards the boss, so I had to re-catch it, which cost alot of time.

I took it down within 2 ground phases, DPS seemed to be no issue at all. My yuti almost died, as I was very bad at initial positioning when the dragon landed both times, so I caught some bites and fire breaths. Also the swarms destroyed my gauntlets and shoes, the rest held up and I was not in danger health-wise.

Whats playerbase like these days? Thinking of returning but official smalls seem to all have 10-18 players for the most populated servers. Is everyone just on unofficials?

Yeah i was on cluster that wiped once a year-ish first, then a group that didnt like my grind style... So now im doing my own thing.. Since october via nitrado, but now that i want to do more maps i figured as a tech guy i should just setup som rack servers in my basement 😂

ark uses steam to patch like every other game on steam. you can literally see it patching in steam's download window

the only games that dont are a couple MMOs that just install their own launcher from steam

Yes it does, but Steam offers a way to Patch only files that need patching - Ark doesn't use the proper way to interact with Steam in this way, hence why all files get checked

steam uses delta patching for all games, including ASA. if it was not using delta patching, you would be redownloading 250GB every update

Yes, but you can patch games via Steam just cheking/updating neccessary files - not everything.

Like other games do. It literally takes ~2 minutes to patch a 150GB game if the system is used properly

so the devs look at what files and version are already on your PC and forward that to steam, instead of steam just looking themselves, got it.
