All the boss fights has always been buggy from the start. From what I heard some of them still are. Remember back in the early days of ASE where the Dragon on Ragnarok just flew away in the horizin. 100% fail rate.

I know that on LC, you get R seeds from the tentacles plants, and I know it's not a guarantee to get one, but, is it a guarantee to get a specific one from a specific tantacle? non-dedicated will just make ya hate yourself

instead of saving or making a backup from the Pause Menu, ya have to use seperate commands with the savebackup commands ignoring the 3 max limit which can eventually corrupt your save file if ya didn't regularly clean old backups

Servers only require 12GB, pair that with Ark's 5GB on client, don't need more than 32GB ram total. There really should be a tickable option for different methods to handle un-rendered dinos (technically stasis) as Ark's documentation puts it.

I didn't pull these numbers out of anywhere. I am quite literally looking at Task Manager for these values. The Ragnarok server I'm hosting with numerous large bases (included modded ones), is sitting at 4.6GB with only ONE player inside of it. As for my client in Ark, it's pulling 5,100MB (rounded up). I don't know where you've got those values from.

We're not talking about a dedicated server "full of stuff" we're talking about getting server-like functionality for stasis dinos in Singleplayer. That way resources don't need to be within render-distance to respawn and what not.

Seems like most of the times whap happens is that shortly after they transfer maps, they get DC'd. Then when they try to log back in their character isn't on they either of the maps they transferred to or from.🤦🏻‍♂️

Aberration must be intended to provoke a massive grind. The Rockwell terminal wants alpha Karkinos, Basilisk, and Reaper King components, yet Der Dino Finder hasn't detected any spawns for said creatures. Console commands have been pulling us through this map. Never faced this problem in The Center, The Island, or Scorched Earth. Not a huge fan of Aberration, it's exceptionally counter-intuitive for a progressive experience.

Personal Cluster Storage

it's a Level 120 engram and by default, it requires Tek Generator and is capped at 50 slots but ya can turn off power requirement and increase the slot number (I recommend no more than 600 to avoid potential issues)

If ya want ya and your players to access their stuff across clusters, ya need to create a Symlink which I can help ya with, nothing too complicated but if ya just add it your servers like that, each player on the server will have thier own Personal Storage on every map that not even admins can access it (unless ya modify the mod file which contains data for each player)

I have it set up on all my clusters so whenever I want to transport stuff that ARK transfer don't allow like Apex drops and Element for example, I just check everything in it

Back to this topic. Der Dino Finder displayed 9 basilisks on the map. I killed 5 of them, now I have 4 listed, but there isn't an alpha. Super happy for console commands, because this is atrocious. Ark really needs dedicated locations where alphas always reside (respawning every 10 minutes) to heavily mitigate the tedium required to actually progress. This is a video game, not a job, but it certainly feels like it at times.

That's fine, make them non-buildable zones. Soulmask did exactly that and works without any issues. Granted it's more designed toward a PvE experience, which is precisely where my group thrives. I've got 2 people who refuse to touch Ark until I tell them we're ready for a boss and another one who actively plays, but doesn't do ANY artifact hunting or dino culling because it's "not fun".

To put it bluntly, if I wasn't the server host and willing to spend time adjusting the plethora of configuration options (which I'm totally content with doing), they wouldn't be playing Ark. There's only so much that I can do as a host to keep my group actively playing. Currently, it's just me participating in this Discord server because they don't share the same level of passion for Ark. It's sitting at negative reviews for way more reasons than just optimization. Player time just isn't being accounted for, at all.

Soulmask and Palworld are the only 2 progressive survival games that my group has sat ALL THE WAY through. Valheim crashed for us when we spent 1+ hour in a boat doing nothing on a handful of occasions. "Do we want to sit in a boat for another 30 minutes, or do we want to quit and play Schedule I", pretty obvious what we did there. Haven't touched Valheim in a very long time.

I don't know how I did it, but I just somehow teleported from one end of the map to my base (~4km travel), on official, using a deinonychus after primary attack while clinging onto a tree.
