Robots...is there ANYONE that actually has theirs set up and working? I have mine set up to where there are absolutely no obstacles for it to get stuck on. The robot still manages to just run straight into the wall and completely ignore any of the inputs/outputs that i've programmed it with (i am using for crop plots/fert/tek troughs).

Hello, a friend has tamed an Oasis for me, came to me on the server 54xx, joined my tribe, set up the Oasis and left the tribe again and returned to his server. I can do everything but cannot access the resources menu and the Oasis is now completely empty, so no tree, no stone, nothing! Naked as a baby... Can anyone help?

So they should downgrade the version because some people are having issues?? The problems are mixed. So many people would get angry if they did that since they have zero issues.

Heck my 3080 desktop and 4050 laptop play the 5.5 perfectly and I got great stable 60fps. That laptop has only 6gbvram.

You can try your luck at fresh install or be patient. Wildcard can’t do anything to please everyone because that’s not how bugs work. You might have had better performance before the update but a lot of people who have no issues now had issues before. It’s RNG so complain to the goddess of RNG if you’re angry.

Ok i just rebooted my servers after the update. Everything seems running ok. Only all my vanilla cryo's have the image off a raptor, but they not broken as i can still throw them out. But if I cryo them again, they turn raptors again. A bug or something else?

Old bugs, before 5.5 I couldn’t go more than 2 minutes without opening my inventory without the game fully freezing. Sometimes even crashing my pc. So for me I’m super happy with 5.5 removing that for me.

Months of the game freezing basically anytime I opened inventory is hell. Imagine running from creatures and to only survive was to open your inventory to grab something but you freeze and have no idea how long it’ll take. Heck even if you got time to even kill said creature when unfrozen or you being killed already it was always 50/50. I hated the last couple months for me lol.

Worst part last server I was playing had Jurassic awakening so that was very fun with the freezing

I had plenty of other issues before but that was my main issue. Now my 3080 10gb has gone up in graphics and I’ve gone up from stable 40fps to 60. This update is amazing.

Tho have you tried a fresh install? There’re many factors to cause that and the simplest solution is to just reinstall and try your luck with RNG. What you got to lose, since y you can’t play anyways.

Also not too sure how they’ll test the game not on their hardware, kinda impossible to check it on all hardware.

The only solution would be a beta version of the game people can try each version to test it. Tho this practice isn’t the norm anymore for games since people just leak everything. Like how minecraft has snapshots to let people test.

Now most just have a testing group in their studio but as you said even if they tried different hardware they may not encounter the problems. Two people could’ve the exact same pc hardware but one might encounter a bug while the other doesn’t. Honestly if people are having so much issues my first thing would be reinstall, it might not fix it but you might get lucky after 1-3 reinstalls you get zero issues.

Like my laptop even tho performance is okey on shit graphics since it is a 4050 laptop gpu. I got a bug if i press save in settings I can no longer mouse over the menu buttons. I can change settings but can’t save or anything like that. Have to restart game, yet my pc doesn’t have that issue.

Well that’s your issue there ark isn’t a live service game, it’s offline with servers as an option. Live service games have to make sure they have it up and running or their revenue goes down. That’s not a thing for games that’s not a live service game.

They do test it with people but they can get 50 people testing it on different hardware still doesn’t mean any of those will encounter the issues.

Also want to point out comparing this to most live service games isn’t fair. Most of those games are shooters or stuff like that, the most buggiest genre of games out there is open world survival games because so many things can go wrong.

The only way this genre ever gets better is if real AI can fix issues on the go but that’ll cause its own issues so there’s that.

Also I’d like to mention even dune awakening has a lot of bugs but compared to this game it’s good. Funcom made Conan exiles and that game is a buggy mess as ASE maybe even worse but they were able to make this game good.

The difference is the people backing said studio, ark is owned by snail who keeps screwing themselves over, haven’t made anything that works. Dune is backed and majority shareholder is tencent. No matter what people’s opinion is on that company they’ve showed they know how to make games work.

Still we won’t ever lose snail, I feel that company would rather kill ark off then sell it just out of spite.

At this point I'm heavily doubting that we'll see Ragnarok launched on time, they need to get what they can fixed including transfers for unofficials prior to launching the new map. Considering its been several days now and there has been little to no mention of the fix, and considering all the other things they are having issues with, my guess is we should just loosen our seatbelts, get up and move around the cabin, and expect delays, delays, delays.

You've got several ways to do it, but I'd recommend this way, simply go to the steam workshop and subscribe to the mods you want to use or that you're friends are using. The easiest way however would simply be to connect to the server they are playing on, you should automatically download the mods the server is running. Keep in mind, WC's downloading and updating process is janky at best, you may need to restart the game several times until the mods fully download and install, then you should be good.

To better reiterate, when the mods are updating or the game is, often times the message that there are downloads going on don't show up, other times the progress doesn't show or update, so you won't know for absolute sure you've got everything and it's ready to play. Just have to turn it off and back on until it stops and loads into the server.

Hey everyone, have you noticed anything weird going on with some of the flyers in the game?
Not all of them, but I tested and my Argentavis and Pteranodons (both tamed and wild) aren't behaving normally.
They fly and walk just fine, but they don't turn their heads like most creatures do.
When I turn my camera, they don’t look around, they don’t follow my view, and they don’t look at me when I get close.
It’s a small detail, but it makes things feel off.
Has anyone else noticed this or could test it with an Argy or Ptero? I’d really appreciate it — I just want to know if it’s only happening to me. Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone, I need help because I feel like my game looks really bad even on ultra settings... (the shadows move even when I'm not moving, the pixels around the textures are horrible, etc... and I find it disappointing that there aren't many options to change these graphics). I have the Fps drops sometimes if i enter water or if i retap in the game. in one place the lag only began after the loading in scene so i guessed that it was the framegeneration but it dont seem like this is the problem.

i know the robot is a touchy subject but i was wondering if it was supposed to continuously work, or does it take 3 minutes between each task? example: it senses that a plot needs fert so it goes to the vault and grabs 4 fert, then waits 3 minutes, then puts the fert in the plot, then waits another 3 minutes...etc.

I am asking him that question above cause I'm on a server now with a friend that has 16 mods really only passsive so it near vanilla and those restarts and crashes were solved when the server owner rolled back to just prior to 5.5 and then updated the mods from there.

its the game its self for console, it needs another patch. open game and go to load in and sometimes it throws me back to main screen or a black screen since major update. now one of my unofficial servers that has astreos on it keeps restarting. get it together ark and please stop insulting the community by blaming other third party issues and just put out stable patches or updates that work with all platforms and third party's correctly. thats all that this 10 year ark veteran asks.

TBH I haven't transfered off of Astraeos since the update, I tried a few times resulting in unreal engine errors and crashing, and decided that with our decay being extended on our servers, I can wait, so haven't even been to Aberration since the patch went live.

Well, there's a myriad of reports and complaints coming in from every single platform, but you are right, there could be a million different reasons for it. However, unofficial transfers are definitely broken, texture glitching is happening, saw it on Astraeos a few times, and there are other issues. However, before they release a new map, it would be much preferred that they have the current issues that are directly from the introduction to 5.5 handled, before they add more problems on top of existing problems.

Ask any former developer for any game studio what happens when you pile more issues on top of existing issues, before long it gets unmanageable and un-repairable.

You again are absolutely correct, in the back of my mind, I'm guessing they did add more logic, and they have added some interesting new features to the map, if it's the new crown jewel of their releases, its going to come with problems, history shows us this. I just think priority-wise most of us are waiting for fundamental fixes and functionality and that's more important than Ragnarok at the moment. Sure, it's a personal preference on my end, you may however want the new map regardless. that's up to you. 🙂

Usually when I report that there's an issue, I've already ruled out the common factors that cause the problem:

  • Mods

  • .INI / Configuration issues.

  • Updated Audio and Video Drivers
    This one is a slippery slope because Nvidia and AMD aren't exactly lightning fast at keeping up with the rest of the game industry.

  • Verifying file integrity.

We all have to remain patient (to a degree) though, because this is simply from one perspective (PC Gaming and Steam), then take into account the communication and coordination between Sony, Microsoft, etc etc. Things don't always work exactly the same, and in most cases add a whole new dynamic to how they have to develop and approach hotfixes.

"Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will."

Fix everything you can first, then add new content, please don't go down that same path with ASA lol.
