hit"boxes" are a capsule component (functionally a sphere), so it is probably not as simple as whatever you are thinking, or necessarily even a bug

since they use IK fairly heavily, parts of their body wont visually line up with any server-side hitbox

Ok, so im just goofing around with the game. And testing spawn/summon commands. And a few of the dinos are giving me a "not allowed to spawn on this map" error. Why is this a thing, or is it because the devs havnt included these dinos in the ascended version?

Yes very much so. Opening an inventory can lead to lag that lasts around 3-5 seconds. Also random rubber banding and getting stuck in the same spot for upwards of 30 seconds at a time

Ok, looking for some insight, suggestions, or recommendations. I've got a member on my server cluster who absolutely cannot load my extinction map. She can load all the other maps in the cluster, no lag, no issues. Black screen crashes on my extinction. Loading her own single player extinction loads with no issues. No ping issues. No other members having same issue; I'm currently on map. MSI laptop, top of the line CPU, GPU, and 16gb ddr5. She plays epic settings on all the other maps, smooth as silk. Created a new toon on the map, watched the cinematics, crashed the moment they were finished. I cannot figure this out.

Officials have everything tailored by Wildcard. Only specific mods if an event is running, rates are 1x unless there's an event, the code of conduct, etc.

Official is quite a bit more grindy, and you have to make sure that you build in stone or higher to make the most out of decay timers. You also must render in your tames at least every 7 days, otherwise they'll autodecay.

It might be easier to find a low rate unofficial, or at least a good group to help you start out if you're doing official

u breed until u get a mutation and then u breed that mutation one so long until u get a second mutation on that kid and so on... basically the only thing u DONT do, is breeding 2 mutations with each other. its always 1 mutation + 1 non-mutated one so u get the stack going

No, but on solo you can reclaim structures and tames.. if you load in and you get the create character screen with no option to download or you did not upload your character to transfer to a diff map, exit out of the game, and reboot…do not create a new character, it wipes your progress.

Your 5090 drivers are the issue. Roll back about 4 revisions and will be better. Iif your playing official that is also an issue. The amount it has to render. Server lag also happens even if you apparantly have 15 ping.
The more skins on buildings it needs to render causes as well. Some are soo poorly optimized.

Can anyone help, or suggest a fix? I keep locking up on the Island at the Artifact of the Hunter artifact. I'm fine until I get into the Artifact chamber and then everything just stops. Then, when I log in, I lock up again so there is no playing until someone moves me out. I had someone drag my body out, and I was able to log in after they dragged me out and move around fine, so I made an experimental character on another server, and the same thing happened in the same location. Does anyone know what this is? Do you think the map is corrupted and I have to re-install?

The main problem was that, for consoles version to run, they had to lower (sometimes deprecate) graphics settings on Pc version too....and with the game getting bigger and bigger with every new map and unable to disable not needed maps from the main game file, consoles got to their limit memory profile, and PC users got lower and lower graphic quality (remember how draw distance and quality was way better, before Ext came out ??) 🙂

The good and unique side of Nyrandil is that it has biomes from every official map, so if you have a ASA cluster it is a good way to have most dinos available, without being forced to include all the official maps, and save on server costs 😉

I decided to buy ascended, and to play pvp for once since i finally feel ready, but wanted to ask if anyone had advice on what server to commit to. I’d really like it to be, y’know, pvp focused but still quite friendly or at least “reasonable” unlike the reputation official pvp has garnered over the last few years. i’m fine with raids and threats being a part of it, and the alliances that ensue, but just random wiping or griefing isn’t worth my time. i’d also quite like it to be on a cluster to help out with that. does anyone know how i should start looking for that sort of location?

For example we had all the offcial story maps, plus astraeos in demo version, then brought the Wyverns and all S.E. dino tames to Island main huge base, so we later deprecated S.E. mainly because we did 100% of the things to do, including explorer's notes, boss, there...for us and all our players (we love to play co-op) 🙂 , later we deprecated Abe and Astraeos demo too, in favor of Ext because almost no one was playing there, so Nyrandil was a perfect choice because it had the biomes of the missing official maps 🙂

no, when they’re born they’ll inherit stats from either of the two and the levels are reverse-engineered. the only way to be certain what level a baby will be is if the parents’ stats are identical - in that case, an unmutated baby will just be identical to the parents stats-wise

Hiya! i downloaded Ark on steam onto my E drive, yet for somereason after turning off my pc and starting it some time later again and going to steam and then ark, clicking [Play] it says:

An error occurred while launching this game : Disk write error -

This is the 3e time this happens, i was able to just click play and the game would start...
Now the only steps to have it fixed it Uninstalling the game, installing it back to the E Drive and it apperantly sees that ARK is already installed there and it then will validate the files and it seems fine and i can play again.

However as mentioned after i turn the pc of it will straight on happen again, its a loop and i really hope someone can help me out of it...

B: is a odd path for a drive on PC , as a: and b: are letters commonly used to identify as floppy disk drives 😄
Maybe try changing that device drive letter under windows, or move the Steamlibrary to another drive/path

ive got different games on my E drive, thats where i have ark too but after a pc restart it says its trying to start ark from my B drive which i havent got it installed at all

That would be the directory error i mentioned early this morning…

Open steam, go to library, right click asa game and go to settings update launch path to whatever drive you have it installed on

is there a hotkey to ride a pyromande directly from your shoulder, instead of pressing r -> ride
you can use ctrl + c and transform back..

yes but there is no solution for pressing xy-button to ride it, instead of pressing r to open the radial menu and then ride

in the wiki there isnt an option to change it into rider quicker, only to turn into shoulder pet quicker

bro, the game doesn't make any sense, I entered The Center, spawned a broodmother alpha and killed her with command, and won the trophy, but killing her 6 times normally without commands, didn't give a trophy

im playing asa atm and im going for the master zoologist trophy on ps5 and im wondering if claiming a baby wild dino counts as taming that dino or not

On the dossier page it checks off the creature if you have tamed the creature. Worth a try.
I’ve notice though that the dossier and or the check mark sometimes disappears. I know I have tamed a dodo as an example but have neither.

ye when i claim them it checks it off but some other tames like argentavis dont have a tick even though ive been breeding them

Yeah. I am experiencing the Same issue.

You have to be in range when it finishes taming, so you get the pop-up to name it, or you don't get the tick generally.
