Yes i have nvidia graphics card im from the UK and I was playing until 1:30am and it was working fine until then. I tried to load it at 12:30pm today about 4half hrs ago and it just keeps crashing

Yeah I had turned off my computer yesterday for a thunderstorm and once I turned it back on it instant crashes when I try to load in. I have to run it with dx11 to get in.

I’m in the US so I haven’t tried today but I’m thinking it might be something with the graphics cards having compatibility issues with the dx12. Atleast I’m hoping that’s all it is at this point

Yeah I did and it worked just fine for me I just Open Steam > ARK: Survival Ascended > Properties > Launch Options, and enter: -dx11

Then you can run the game all on medium settings smoothly and still get 60+ fps

dx11 will be 1/2 or 1/3rd the fps and very broken and crash-prone. the game really does not support it at all

the engine sort of does, but it basically disables multithreading in anything graphics-related and a lot of features the game uses dont support it

I think it's the first game for me that has actual issues with changing from dx12 to dx11

Apparently this is a common issue there's a reddit solution that seems to help involving editing your pc registry if you Google your error I would link it for you but I dont think that's allowed here

It happens on single player, or multiplayer servers. Any time I load in, once I would be able to move the game crashes

I use to have that issue the only thing I found was lowering the resolution settings and changing everything to low settings until it had fully loaded have you tried that?

Got an issue. Ive been playing ASA for a while and this is the first time I encountered a crash. It seems to be a quite stubborn crash. I tried to launch the game, my singleplayer, the moment I load in, instantly crashes. The crash log mentions a fence but I will gather the crash log now.

Go into the ingame settings and in video

Theres a Frame Generation option

The error youre getting is often caused by it so u could try turning it off

Your game will be pretty choppy without it tho

takes 2 rendered frames and then uses motion vectors to guess what an in between frame would look like
then it generates that frame and displays it on you monitor
this increases motion fludity
however it increases latency and also has a small frametime cost
thus it increases your fps by 50-88%

Yeah ran the AMD cleanup tool did a full wipe (which took me down to 1 monitor) and then had to reinstall the drivers (used recommended program from AMD's website)

The issue repeats regardless of loading multiplayer or singleplayer and regardless of map (tried scorched earth, island, center)

You don't need to be online for them to incubate eggs. Put the egg in its inventory, click the egg and it allows you to put in left or right egg pouch. I'm watching football now and my eggs are cooking nicely on official

There is usually a message when you try to upload them. Generally speaking there is a timer that they need to be on the ark uncryoed to be uploaded. I find it easier to cryo then upload the cryo then to upload a Dino. More convient too.

If you have a really good cross bow maybe you can knock it down before it destroys the trap. Use a cliff if you can on the side that you agronit from. That way it won’t be focussed on the wood structure until it tries to flee and at that point I don’t think it will attack the structure.

Google "battlemetrics asa" and you should see an option called "ARK: Survival Ascended Server List", open that site and it has a options for you to see/search servers.

They might have an unofficial discord for that server too. Maybe ask once you are in it in game via global chat.

pretty generic GPU driver crash. do you always get the exact same message?

i usually dont get a message, but this time it popped up. sometimes it pops up. i crash usually when flying over specific spots of the map, and after i die it's a nightmare trying to get back in. i just died and now every time i load in my screen's black, insta freezes and i cant do anything and it just crashes idk what to do

Buy a cheap pc, download the game, set it up like you wish and then host it as a private server with password... enjoy your empty world 😅 or you can just join a server, either official or non official... get acquainted with the people and rules.
On Official you have to follow a grind to reach stuff but have the certainity of a decent server that refreshes after every update and everybody follows the same speed...
Non official can go very fast but everybody can be an admin and command/cheat their way into oblivion...

Arkpocalypse wipes every 30ish days, normal servers don't wipe unless it's an extreme case. Arkpocalypse has changing monthly mods, normal servers only have event mods when an event is going. Arkpocalypse has higher rates than normal server since it wipes, see #server-rates

Yeah thats singleplayer for you, only options are to either look up spawn groups for your area and kill every dino on the list, or just dinowipe and pray

To follow up Ark player base has died to the point that at any given time ASE has a 50% higher player count than ASA does. If you are gonna play official be very careful as its is dying quickly. They have introduced multiple p2w DLCs but they have mostly been abandoned, just look at chat on here over the robot. I bought Bobs and the fantastics and astraeos but i will not be buying any more til they fix everything previous.

And of course those who wish to take the attack to other servers to subjugate bullies and give them a taste of their own medicine.
