i have a question. is it possible to disable the decay timer for the turbine on SP or a private dedi server?

cuz the whole point of using the turbine was to not have to use generators, but now they break in half the time that u get from a full generator

so they are kinda useless

So here's a list of what I've done:

Repaired game data via Steam
Reinstalled the wohle game
Rolled back windows updates
Rolled back gpu updates
Tried different settings withing GPU controlpanel such as activating dlss and deactivating it, vsnync on/off
Checked the power supply and windows energysaving settings.... the list goes on.

With all that being sad...
The game was perfectly fine for me since the release until now...

Also ran a couple of stress tests and benchmarks for the gpu, cpu, RAM and hdd's

Right in the menu, i would say the numbers or codes (or whatever you'd like to call them) seem to change from crash to crash but the most part is exactly the same.

I may have lost my character....I was trying to transfer from 5230 TheIsland to 6020 Astraeos, when the game crashed. I went back into the maps menu and chose 5230 TheIsland, and got sent to the Create a Character menu. I exited and then tried to enter 6020 Astraeos, and again got sent to Create a Character menu.

Nvm... a fellow player had some advice that worked perfectly. I panicked and didn't need to.

Cats appear either green, orange or red tagged.. and show different colors for each player, your character can only tame the green ones, you have three choices, leave the orange , red ones for someone else to tame or kill them to hopefully spawn more green ones, if you are on solo leave the orange, red ones alone

similar issue for me yesterday, seemingly lost all uploaded items, tames, and an additional character that was in the list as well. After everything, it finally let me load the character in and transfer them back out, but everything else including that character I wasn't even using was gone. Apparently some people are saying they are not actually gone just not showing up? Not sure myself. Won't matter for the items and tames if it takes too long to resolve anyway

probably because one of those things is orders of magnitude easier and more feasible than the other 🙄 but we dont know what actual issues you are referring to..

does not, for most people. there are endless situational reasons why it could crash, it is not a single issue. a lot of those "low hanging fruit" are even fixes for crashes

there are not really any deep-rooted engine or design issues causing crashes, unless you count disconnects/desyncs from UE5's weird netcode, and fixing that would be a hilarious amount of work and probably cause an endless list of other bugs with game mechanics and existing mods

and for the record, ue5.5 update is going to break the entire game

too many large code changes under the hood, stuff, especially mods, is going to be really funky for a while until wildcard and mod devs have time to figure out all the weird little interactions

utter rubbish. there are constant crashes for console players that are mentioned here over and over and over again and have been since release and none have been addressed. when WC actually address one they say so but most patches just say 'fixed exploit', 'fixed crash' which means 'meh we just did a tweak'. Oh and please don't give me the 'PC players only count' because if that was true the game would already be dead. Console is keeping this game alive. Do something about it WC or you are all looking for a new job and, lets face it, with a reputation here that will not count for much.

Its actually not that bad if you play official or a low rates unofficial. If single player then nah pretty pointless. Yep the Bobs and all other PTW dinos spawn whether you pay for it or not.

UE5 is a lot stabler in that area, but still room for fuckery like that

If your using discord while playing ark discord likes to cause crashes, one too many tabs out and your gpu goes nopeee. There's an option to turn off in discord that helps

Everytime for the past month or so, I transfer off of Island (to Scorched or Aberration), my character goes into upload and I'm presented with the "create character" menu. I have to leave the server, then rejoin to be able to click a bed and spawn in, and even then it sometimes still gives me the create a character until I click download character and can spawn into a bed. Today I lost several dinos because of this, and just wanted to see if there's a fix to it.

Not sure if this is the right channel, but has there been any release updates if PS5 consoles will get an update for their mod storage? We have maybe 20 mods, and 1 mod map, and gifting my players a month of club ark, with Boosted dino reward levels etc, but ps5 players (including myself) don't have enough space to download it, we don't really have exceptionally large mods either. Hello everyone i hope you are doing well. A friend of mine is encountering a problem with his inventory that lags his whole game. When he traveled to nyrandil and he opened his inventory a black screen opens with a message saying refreshing inventory and he could do nothing no more. He figured a way to close the inventory and travel back to another map he got his transmitter and couldn’t even open it’s inventory. He tried to respawn his character with the implant button spent the whole night trying but nothing he does seem to work. He even disinstalled the game the mods everything but nothing seem to work even on solo parties the same problem occurs does anyone know what he could do please ?

update size does not mean the game is getting that much bigger and has nothing to do with how much space is needed to patch. you need space equal to the size of the files being changed, and if that is most of the game archives, that is the size of the game

steam basically copies the game, applies the downloaded changes to the copy, then copies it back into the game directory. which is really dumb, but that is how it has always worked

grabbing fish is a super pain sometimes, kinda needs your feet to be in contact with the ground but not always consistent.

Biggest tip though is to kill fish with a metal pike or a spear. It will automatically grab the corpse.

Astraeos is graphics heavy, set your graphics to low, turn off lighting enhancements and animations and load in with no mods. If that works, you will have to make adjustments to make it run smooth

Mainly cosmetics but I think when I had nemesis installed it was trying to possibly work in the background and was crashing even when I opened a dino inventory. I haven't had a crash in 3 days now since just having the ones I want. I have the bobs tales ones, roman, factory, klingers rustic greenhouses, Amisa, Anubis costume and a few more cosmetic bits and they don't seem to have caused an issue. I just did the main 5 at first then added 1 at a time and if I find one making it crash at least I will know the culprit

Everyone has a problem in some way or another playing as it's not optimised properly lol. Think we are all in the same position at the moment where sooner or later Ark will be Ark and break something 😅

I also think you guys have ridiculous hopes on that changing in the 5.5 upgrade

It's not lol. It's basically ASE with glitter sprinkled on it lol. I'm under no illusion that the 5.5 won't do much as the upgrade itself was meant to do that and yet other than graphics most of the old bugs still exist so I'm not holding my breath. I still enjoy the game either way

Play it on your Series S for a while then get back to us lmao. Your PC is probably way above required specs for the game and even then some of the top names in the community still have issues. Even Raasclark crashes during live streams 😅 but I suppose everyone has their own experiences and your game must have ran amazing since day 1
