there are guides on youtube if you want to see examples or #building-screenshots some are PvP tho

just know that you can always make a new base. nothing stops you unless you are on officials lol

they come back. for ascension bosses (tek cave/overseer, manticore, rockwell, etc) make sure to put everything thats in your inventory on one of them.

In the case of Rockwell, they might all get teleported to portal instead, so if they aren't at the terminal after the fight check there. That's what happened to mine

I finally managed to get the custom Dino levels mod working! I didn't realize that all I had to do was move the mod from available to active, oops.

Did another Dino wipe and yes, there are now a lot of high levels. And oh no, there are a lot of high levels.

I set it to range from lvl 70 to 150 but I guess it's working a little too well

Depends for what. For caving without dlc thylaco and bary are good. With dlc handsdown pyromane. For general purpose including boss fights theriz and deinosuchus are my favorite. Deinos are juste OP

I would personally recommend the center if you are new, the island is a bit boring and bit hard for a new player but at the same time lets you learn how bosses work, the most difficulty you'll have there is with overseer

aberration is an amazing map but requires experience and game sense, how traps work etc, it is by any means not a map that should be played by a beginner

No, it’s just attacking wild dinos and player, then after killing the enemy it will come back to the egg pile and spin again

Your dinos should show up to the equivelant of the boss entrance (for instance in the island guardian fights you return to the base of the obelisk or with the overseer fight your dinos return to the tek cave entrance). Ascending though is different than beating a regular boss and just being sent back to the map, the game will close to the menu and (at least in ASA's case) you might have to close and reopen the game to load your saves properly. When i ascended on the island the game looked like it completely wiped my aave files but later when i tried to open it it worked fine, only problem being my inventory was gone although that couldve been a bug with a mod. If you reopen the game and youre in character creation you just have to open the download survivor tab which should be near where save and load presets are. Youll probably have to wait a qhile for the survivors to load im not entirely sure how it worked since my game just popped me back in when i closed and reopened it. Shoulder pets should be teleported with any other dinos i dont think youre required to drop them or anything

I assume youve tried multiple different locations and basilisks? Is the basilisk pivoting on the middle or near the head? If its in the middle maybe you can stick another egg so that the head of the basilisk is touching an egg while its chasing one, not sure if that could work but its worth a shot

As a bonus you can use the quetz to hover over the giga while you knock it out

Are you dropping the eggs while riding a rock drake? If so are you dropping them from your inventory or the drakes. I had the same problem of them “fidget spinning” on an egg and it wouldn’t focus on any other eggs. I think when I started dropping them from my inventory it worked as was supposed to.

I only ever used it for andrewsarchus on fjordur, really bugs me how honey has like a 5 second spoil time and stacks to 1 in the inventory because stuff like that is so useful but it spoils so fast that you have to plan ahead whatever you want to do with the honey, cant ever be in a situation where you remember you have it and toss it to distract a predator or something and sneak away

As soon as I get honey, I just pop it straight into the preserving bin. I didn't know the preserving bin could reduce the spoil timer on a long of things. Forgot it was in the name

Aside from that, spoil timers aren't that much of an issue for me because my settings are altered according to recommendations and a lot of things are much easier

Yeah i usually increase my spoil timer a bit but anything too much will make narcotics really difficult to make at least early game, main frustration is just that the literal whole gimmick of honey is that it never spoils and in ark it is outlived by a lemon in your pocket

Deino bleed stacks to 5 times iirc, on every attack. It's crazy good against the dragon because of their small size you can get under his feet and avoid most of his attacks. Their bleed works on all bosses.

they are deemed decent, because they can havest, most if not all things, so you don't need a wood / hide / berry / fiber / meat / etc (no mineral stuff) harvesters, just use the 1 theri

Well, what has likely happened is that he finished rockwell which ascended him. That moves your character from the map and puts it in the upload location like he was at an obelisk and hit upload character. Except the game didn't save properly and crashed. If you don't have a backup of the whole save environment (all maps and the transfer location) then you'll have to roll a new character.

All your stuff is still there in the map, buildings, tribe and dinos. But your character and anything on it wasn't saved.

If this is on your own private server or in single player, there are commands that can be used to get you back to the level you were. But items, unlocked explorer notes and other things are more complicated to recover without a backup.

I havent had stacks vanish or change function when stack sizes change, simply thier size
If youre trying to change functions then that might break things a bit

Stack sizes simply modify things such as values set in how many the box holds. Instead of One Battery you could hold 10, but they would still act as batteries

They're asking if it vanishes like fertilizer does. Fertilizer will also stack to 10, but if you use it while stacked, the whole stack disappears. I don't have batteries stacked, so I don't know either.

Basically what happened was that I aggroed the giga, it had some interest but quickly turned away a few times. It runs outside the render distance and... It vanished. Spawned a new wild one using commands because I didn't want to come all the way for nothing. Lured it into a trap and oh my, both crossbows I have broke after firing a lot of tranq arrows. Repaired those and uh oh, the arrows are not enough so I gave myself more with commands. Ultimately knocked it out, tamed it, and now... Idk if I should feel satisfied or disappointed

Deleting won't reset any numbers. A common issue if "everything is wrong" is the "use single player settings" option -- if you have that enabled or not, make sure to match it in your Dododex settings.

For KO numbers -- a common reason KO numbers might appear wrong is if you shoot too slow, miss shots, or shoot too fast. Dododex shows the number for the perfect shooting tempo, but it will require more if you don't shoot at the ideal tempo. Especially true for larger/stronger dinos like the Giga where their torpor rate is really high and any missed shots can cancel out a few shots.

But if you have a specific example of something that's wrong, I can take a look. 🙂

Yeah, all weapons have a timed release of torpor, so if you shoot too fast (or two people shooting), torpor "queues" up and there's a 'backlog" of torpor being inflicted. So you basically have to shoot the required number, and then wait for all of the torpor to fully inflict and the dino will KO on its own. Kind of hard to know how much is queued though, especially if you miss some shots, so usually safer to shoot a bit more.
