For ASE (pretty sure that mechanic didn't change with ASA) it was up to half of the original level, but except for a few times you don't get real 100%, so one level less at best (e.g. 150 -> 150 + 74 = 224). Also each feeding/eating lowers the effectiveness a bit, so can be lower especially if you use low rates.

the only tip i can give is shoot in the more obvious parts of a dino, like for example argentavis - prioritize the body instead of it's wings because they love to not-register tranqs

In the pack cave you would be yea. At one point you will have to cryopod it to get out, but it does good all the way in. You don't need your armor unless you have no levels in hp, it should be the only thing regularly hitting you while riding bary. Bats sometimes get a nibble, but you can usually survive mega rabies with 300+ hp

In ASA are there only specific dinos that will use kibble under their teir for taming but at a reduced tame % per kibble? For example I have been able to give the Basilosaurus superior kibble instead of the exceptional and he will eat it and I will get tame progress on it, however I believe its less progress.

I probably should have asked you your stats beforehand. If you're taking a baryonyx into a cave you wanna level it to at least 6k + hp. They heal really fast when they kill fish, and there are piranhas deeper int eh cave you can heal off of

Since your bary doesn't have great hp, it would be a good idea to farm fish to force feed him through the cave, or get a shotgun to kill arthros before moving the bary in to kill other cave stuff

Only center, island, scorched earth, and aberration are available at the moment, but there are also mod maps you can pay for for singleplayer play. By the time you get asa extinction will probably be released too

it wont do much (if anything) to fix severe GPU bottlenecking. you have a high res monitor with a lower-mid-range GPU that has aged very poorly 🤷

I just tamed a high lvl beaver. Should I enable resource harvesting or disable it? I wanna go from tree to tree to level it up quick but if I enable resource harvesting it'll be packed full of wood in no time. Or, should I have my iguanodon follow along and hold all the wood and disable resource harvesting when its weight is almost full?

Beaver has weight reduction for wood, and even then you can just drop it

If you want a lot of wood you should really get a mammoth, they reduce wood weight by more than a beaver and hold so much more (obviously)

No the stats that the dino stand up with from taming it are the stats that the baby will come out with unless you get a mutation. That and it could take a few breading cycles to get the stats that you want all in one baby

tether, i assume you mean? it is not adjustable and will likely never be removed, for a few technical and performance reasons. also no reason to do so; if someone has hardware powerful enough to theoretically handle removing it, ignoring other issues with that, they can just run their own server for way better performance

It will be the same unless you get a mutation, regardless if you put lvls into the drake. The more mutations that your dino gets can increase any of the stats on any dino. It does take a while but it is worth it in the long run

It’s basically let you extract the egg from the mammal, pretty sure it’s mainly to not let the mammal lay the baby so you don’t lose it. Haven’t used the machine tho. I’ve been just stuck grinding for a dumb stego saddle on aberration and refuses to drop one, considering doing boss with basic saddle at this point

Embryo incubator is basically an egg incubator for mammals, gene scanner scan dinos for genes, takes and replaces genes on tamed dinos (if it's adult ya cant place genes on em), also used to extract embryos

Honestly really nice to have since ya can see the embryo stats on the incubator and can make sure they are born when you want em to be (ps ya can eat embryos)

It's not really time reverse. It's localized temporary teleport.

You drop a beacon and for a limited ammount of time (and 1/3rd of the durability) you can return to that beacon if you stay in range.

Each baby only had a 7% chance to get a mutation when both parents are bellow 20 mutations. The possible combinations of mutated vs non-mutated in a given set of breeding females is a much more complicated equation. That one you give is the 'incorrect naive gambilng number' equation. Aka, what people who gamble think they get, not what it really is.

There are some very fancy terms for it, but basically it is wrong.

No. Because I don't want to spend a couple hours playing with the combinatoric math again. That Baysian expected value formula will tell you how people think they will get a mutation, but doesn't actually tell you how many females you need to get a mutation per generation.

The number for that is enormous, particularity given that you can have 0 mutations forever and that is a perfecly valid outcome.

let's say you got a female with 5 melee and 10 hp
and a male with 10 melee and 5hp
then, let's say you get unfortunate enough to get a baby with both 5 melee and 5hp, the level will be smaller because it's got lower points put into the stats

another example, let's say you got a female rex with 20 points in melee and the male has 39 points in melee (ALL the other stats are the same for both parents), the baby pops out with female's melee aka 20 points, it will have a lower level because it's got overall lower points in a stat, if you get a baby that has the male's 39 points in melee, it will have a level higher by 19 levels because of that melee

Hopefully I helped somehow, it's very easy to understand, just gotta see it for yourself when breeding

I'm using custom lvl .ini setup. Taming a Titano leveled me up 17 lvl. From there the xp bar seems to be stuck(lvl 92). Tried virtually everything on the inet, no fix for me I'm afraid...

Reddit says xp doesn't match lvl which causes the ui to bug out and eventually catches up. Reddit also says if you lvl up for more than 10 lvl without default engram/xp points, the game will bug out.

close the game and go back in. the level 1 bug is most likely a connection issue. there isn't a fix just the game isn't getting the information. most common places are inventories and the levels of dinos.

If you log out/crash too soon after harvesting resources, it can bug them out to where they don’t respawn in SP. So before loading in, go to your settings, find and put “resource respawn period” down to 0.1.

Log on and go to the area where nodes are not spawning, wait a few minutes until they respawn.

This the Island volcano? I'm pretty sure carchas can fit out the pathway from there, might have to wiggle it around a little. Maybe you could get it to follow you out but if not, beginning the tame and walking it out could work, just be careful of fall damage ruining the tame. If it's stuck in a wall there probably isn't much you can do unless you drag enough creatures to it that you can tame it on the spot

They only eat veggie cakes, it takes quite a few to raise a baby snail. They only eat if they are rendered so you can't leave them for much at all. The ones I've raised I would cryo up if I had to leave the base for more than a couple of minutes and definitely if I was logging off. It gets easier once they are juvenile because you can put the cakes in a tek trough but they still only eat when rendered.

Breeding high levels with low levels is good for min-maxing if you're going really deep into mutations. Having some of the less useful stats be low leaves more room in the total level cap to fill with mutations. If you're not going that far then it doesn't really matter

If you wanted a low stat you could collect a bunch of minimum level creatures, level 5 presumably, and breed all of their worst stats until you get a level 1. That one will have no points in any stats so you can grab some from there whenever you need

you also said earlier i think you had a high level in a 145 theri? what is your max wild levels, if it's 150, i personally wouldn't class a tamed 145 as a high level.
i generally don't bother with stuff below level 135, since then you have a good chance of getting some high stats from wild plus taming bonus

if the wild was 145, it would get 50% levels after taming, so it would be like level 217 or so.
if the dino gets hit during the taming the efficiencie drops, what you can do then, is let it wake up and start again

Oh no what I meant by that was that there were 2 theris. One lvl 145 and one lvl 150. The lvl 150 was attacked by a terror bird whilst unconscious (didn't survive the tranq arrows later) so I just settled for a lvl 145 one a little further away

yes, since low levels have bad stats, so you are stuck with those stats that the higher level has.
it's better to keep hunting for high level ones, so you get more high stats to choose from.
also, a tip, is write down the stats of the dino's you want to breed with before you level them up, so you know what the "real" stats are that the baby can get

ideally you want to find those "outlier" high stats for stuff like hp / melee, where they have super high stats and then combine those into one

you know the relation between stats and levels? a 224 dino gets 223 stat points, that can go into all stats, so if 50 of those stats g into hp, it gets a lot of hp, but if only 25 go in there, it has a lot less hp

that is why low levels suck, since they get less stat points

But say I want to breed the theri. There are 2 lvl 135 females out there. One has higher points in hp and weight whilst the other has better stamina and melee

you combine the male with 1 female, untill you get for instance a new male, with the better stats from the female, and then you combine that new male, with the other female, so you grab those stats also

Carchars share spawns with gigas, so killing any of those you see will clear up space for them. They'll spawn on the Island mountaintops, very commonly in the volcano. They're also really good for Tek Cave

I think they're extra common in the volcano just because they can't wander off as easily. Carchars spawning elsewhere probably fall off the mountain and despawn a lot of the time, but the volcano sometimes has multiple in there

the difficulty slider in the settings is weird and maps to a 1-5 range for the actual difficulty multiplier. 0.2 is 1, ie lv1-30 dinos

what do you mean by use? it works on every map, but does not add anything special to the center, like new creatures

Sometimes the engrams can be wonky. Try bed travel, suicide by implant, or changing maps.

You can also do the verify files dance. BTT is also a DLC you can remove and re-add in steam, too. Should not do anything that verify of files would do, though.

If BTT is working correctly it should appear on all your maps. Wildcard progressively adds engrams and content to Ark that you can use on any map as long as you don't have a conflicting mod like a total conversion.

You might not have the resources to make the stuff, but the engrams should be learnable and present.

I managed to successfully breed a theri with the best traits of both parents but I only managed to get 75% imprint. What kinda settings should I alter to slow down maturation? Also, should I just cryopod dinos I don't need?

Oh, and how high should my theri's melee be?

Worth noting that you can also get a mod for a potion that fully imprints the dino, if you don't want to bother with settings

Also, if you get a parent with all best traits that u want, no need to imprint it as you'll be using to to breed new perfect stat babies that u can use

So that if the dino dies, you can just quickly breed a new one
