if you are not running the server yourself, you have no idea what sort of performance it has, and yes, movement issues are one of the most obvious ways you can see significant server lag

not really anything else to say on the matter, that is bog standard server lag

worth testing the same configs and modstack on a local dedicated server if you dont believe that

Evolved on Steam is crossplay with Epic. Pinned messages in #unofficial-setup-help has more info as well as links. You won't be able to crossplay with epic if you have mods on whatever server you're hosting.

There are good videos on this for people like Seashell Gaming. No need for tech binoculars or mods. You'll know you got a mutation becuase your male and females were a specific level but the baby comes out higher level with an increased stat.

So, I need some opinions. I have a server where the decay timer is very high on structures and slightly high on produce. The thing is that I didn't know how much. I went back to my private server after I would say 2 months And all the food in a troughs were practically gone. But as far as the dinos go and the vegetables, they were practically fine.

All I did to do was small general maintenance, filled the trough with meat and berries and fertilize the plants. But here's where the real question comes in

I haven't gotten much of survivors in the server at all. So I'm thinking about renaming it. Since the server as it is. I'm thinking of calling it 'workers Paradise'. Because we all know there is some people that work 9:00 to 5:00 and have a busy schedule and can't play Arc that often. This will probably be a godsend to them. I could probably make a survivor turn around with it. What do you think?

You would replace the male with one of the mutated babies. While it is not required, you would usually start with a male and femlaes that have the same stats. As long as you track the highest stat and stick to mutating one stat you'll be fine.

Most people stick to mutating one stat at a time then mixing them at the end. You can run multiple sets of breeding operations at once to speed this up.

I would not be surprised if the Pyromane can be taken to Abberation, but normally you don't bring any tames to Abberation. You often do take tames from it, though.

Megalosaurus is a safe bet.

Pyromane if they can be transferred are likely to be super good too until you get your hands on actual gliders

Turns out, no.

I ran with both and a decent 358 pump way outperformed a tek rifle in killing Gigas in the tek cave, killing the overseer and the flying scouts.

yes, in the overseer fight you technically have unlimited ammo by picking up the element dropped by drones.

But in practice, they are a PITA to pickup, killing ground drones on beta or alpha is a loss of element. And you want to spend most your DPS killing the overseer, not farming element.

The Megapeticus bossfight is one of the most amazing bosses so far, but on PvE servers its very hard to start it due to Spino spawnes are often blocked and therefor not enough Spinosails in the game.

Would you mind to consider that Dimetrodons drop as well sails in the future to combat this long existing issue?
After all they have as well a sail on its back and since Dinosuches drop sarco skins, i guess its not that bad if Dimetrodons drop spino sails even if the name indicates the origin from another creature.

yeah you dont need the rex's in that fight, just like 5 or megas and a yuti. that saddle should be fine, just mindwipe and put all levels in crafting and craft them, you can get some good bonus'. that was about the saddle armor we did ours with as well

1. developers have to get paid for their work. theyre not volunteers and this isnt a hobby for them, its their job.
2. 40 bucks isnt 'full price', most games are 60+ at launch, not to mention in ase you had to buy every story map separate while this time they come included in the base price
3. ASA is meant to give a stable influx of cash while they work on Ark 2. a company cant just coast until the next thing they have to have a steady income
   also 4. its not a must to buy, you can stick with ase for years and years, nobody is forcing you to buy asa

The issue with Ark is that it is reliant on economy for production. For economy is generally assumed to have players who are rational, and so Ark too is sensitive to the same initial conditions. Because people who tend to play Ark (especially on public servers) are not rational, being somewhat akin to meth'ed out trailer dwellers who can barely find their way to a supermarket, much less the hygiene aisle, it is no wonder there is such concern for the game's finances. They (the Ark players) rail against improvement! Fight against progress! And spoil anything towards the greater good of Gaming itself.

The issue with ark is that they could do really well for themselves if they made a season pass, but instead they make a 5$ dlc for a single tame and call it a day. Most games these days have season passes from 7.99$ to 9.99$, so ARK wouldn't be alone.. Then seasons are around 3 months, so thats an easy 39,96$ per year just on season passes with cosmetics. I know tons of people want more skins.. not custom cosmetics that you need a filthy mod to install. Even the trashy ARK mobile game has tons of MTX so the idea isn't foreign or that far from possible. The Bob DLC was a good start, but there wasn't that much cosmetics but I understand it is a DLC season pass of sorts, but we shouldn't stop there.

Development costs time, time is worth money. I am sure there are many of us more than willing to open our wallets for more cosmetics.. Not custom cosmetics, but actual DLC cosmetics like the Bob DLC.. ARK players are so damn entitled though, but I see the Bob DLC skins used daily, so there must be a huge chunk of players willing to pay for skins if it gives a certain "exclusivity feeling" to it, which Custom Cosmetics does not.

Costume cosmetics are implemented pretty poorly.

If you want cheat protection, set the validation to true. Mistake....

CC Artifact Pedestal Skins - with CRC 123 for the current version. I start the game. I still have the previous version installed. The CRC doesn't match. But the new version isn't downloaded (dynamic download is true!), instead nothing is displayed. Great.

Now I don't know what it's like when dynamic download is set to true, but I don't have the skin. It is downloaded - and when I update? Is the new version downloaded? Doesn't make sense? If I download it myself, I don't get a new version, but if I let it download - do I?

So it's best to deactivate cheat protection for skins. Then at least what you have is displayed. Then I have version 1, currently version 2 is - it's just missing a bit.

That's why I think the Bob DLC is much better - it works. Here I don't have to worry about updating the skin so that it can still be seen... it just works. And everyone sees it without any fuss... That's why I would never spend money on a CC skin (there is the first premium skin), because it is difficult/unwieldy to get it to be displayed. I would rather spend money on a premium mod - at least they work. The server downloads the latest version and then I do too. It works. (I'm still a fan of structure skins as CC! I don't want any more mods that give me structures - then I'll end up with 10 different walls in my inventory... well, if I have to throw away one of the structure mods because of an error, I'll only have 9 walls G... nope..)

Traditionally you put a spike wall around any valuable tame no matter the dino. Anything that eats meat and is aggressive can aggro. Or Theris.

Well I usually use a trap instead of spikes, but for the Rex that'd be a big trap lol.

Oh, while the Rex is conscious, nothing will bother it is my experience

While it’s knocked out it’s kinda treated as your tame, so anything that would aggro on a tame will agro on the Rex. Knock it out and quickly build wood spike walls around it. As long as it’s not a Rex or a Giga aggroing, or say a An Argy, you should be protected from Raptors and the like.

Raptors I think are programmed to smell blood lol, they’ll deffo come running eventually. Use kibble to make it quick too.

Best method is to starve tame. knocking out the rex without putting food in it until it's ready to tame. dododex website tells you how long to wait. if you can toss protection that is always a bonus, but at least you don't lose your kibble if something hits it.

Hey does anyone have any tips for scorched earth early game tames i cant go anywhere because there is daedons, direwolves, and sabertooths around everycorner so its making it difficult to get narcotics and tames. I was wondering if there was a good tame thaat i could get so i can get more metal and get tranq darts.

Your best bet is building right by a water well and getting adobe as soon as possible. Wouldn’t worry about crafting gear, just die 50x leveling until you can get at least a wood or stone hut up. Not sure if you’re on official but it will be extremely time consuming starting from level 1 there, you’d be better off doing a note run on the island then transferring.

Even on arkpocalypse as a vet, I consider myself pretty good at starting up and i would probably die at least 10x on a 5x. 1x scorched from level 1 is just torture. The map wasn’t released with intent to start from lvl 1 but it’s definitely doable, easier with others obviously.

Argies, thyla or megatherium are good starter tames for scorched but i’d recommend you transfer them

If you’re on pve just ask for one i’m sure someone will have no prob helping you get a start up on scorched

Also 20 fortitude at a minimum

You can get by with ghillie/cloth + calien soup until you can load up some stuff for desert cloth. ghillie is easier to repair killing mantis.

so i’d recommend just taming an argy, get some ghillie via penguins and soups* then transfer.
