Dear Studio Wildcard-

It would be insanely helpful to server owners if you could settle on a consistent time of day for releasing and pushing out client and server patches. When you push out your updates randomly, clients (ala Steam et al) are forced to update before they can run the game, which then creates the situation where the servers they play on may not have updated yet because their daily update tasks won't fire for some hours yet. If you stuck to a consistent time of day, it would allow server owners to have a concise daily update window that would minimize disruption to users.

I hate the cage thing. They need to be on wander but...I usually put them in my greenhouse with a dodo and it makes more than enough and they dont escape. You can also put in a stack of stone and it wont move. Dont add points in weight. If you want to add points put it in health

I needed a batch of fertilizer for my beginner 3x3 farm and put down 20 compost bins to make 20 fertilizer in about an hour, plus a little extra from double batches. From that I've produced an entire preserving bin of crops plus a bunch more unharvested

you can tame dung beetles and do all that but if you just want a bunch of fertilizer in under an hour; compost bin & poop

for easy poop, tame a phioma (one of those weird pig things) and force feed it stim berries. A few stacks of stimberries will give you like 60 poop

and I've still got about half the fertilizer left after that

Best size is probably just the smallest you can get away with. Small for Berries, Medium for Advanced Crops, Large for Turret Plants etc. Since the only real differences (unless they gave them different item slot amounts recently or something) is the water capacity of each and the seeds you're allowed to plant in them. So the thing mattering is how much space you conserve per plant and how much Fertilizer you are able to keep up with/how reliable you're able to water them.

like, I think the stam really only matters if you are riding the dino yeah? when they are not ridden, no worry about loss of stam.

Good point, they are for the boss fight on the center, so for the most part I won't be riding them, what do you think about the health?

any heath is a YES, melee is a bonus. take one out and "test" with it. if the dmg output its oh so nice, it will be MORE when they are mate boosted as well.

This is a question about S+ from ASE, or more specific about the S+ Nanny. Do she give food to babies in the maewing saddle if the maewing is in range of the nanny?
Our babies died when we were offline and cant figure it out

On foot in the redwoods isn't nearly so bad since Wildcard screwed up the AI on the Thyla. You can still get ganked by Terror Birds or walk too close to a bear. Kind of run-ending events.

Yeah, Microraptors can DIF. Even though I use them as shoulder pets a lot, they've stolen more than one Alpha kill from my chibi by knocking me off at just the wrong time.

spino trap is just a box, i would say at least 3x3 foundations, 3+ walls high. more if the ground is uneven, and you may want higher on the far side to stop it sliding over the trap if it comes up the ramp going fast

you can use closed stone gates instead of walls, too

i always just built a box with a ramp and a door into the outside walls of my bases

Yeah I disagree with the other guy by a milestone, ark is way harder, but as long as u don't permanently lose all your stuff you can slowly climb even if you die constantly

Tips for if ur singleplayer or with friends: Make a small room with a bed at every cave entrance so you can get your stuff when you do die, explore VERY conservatively, one area could be perfectly safe and the other have raptors and a carno, and always bring a strong mount with you when you explore when you get the chance (even a high level iguanadon can get you through the early game)

According to the Meganeura (dragonfly) spawn map page, there is a region for them to spawn called "SwampCave." So I assume that means there is a swamp cave there. But I went to the actual location on the map and spent 40 minutes riding my toad around looking everywhere for it and couldnt find anything. Is there actually a bug cave? I need cementing paste bad

I would recommend buying a server tbh. Bc ARK non dedicated has this tether system, so your teammate can only go a short distance from you if he's hosting it. And it's also very glitchy like you're experiencing

I used Shockbyte (not a shill) but you can use pretty much any of the major hosts and find a 50% your first month coupon. It'll end up being $7.50-$10 for a 10-12gb server. Enough ram for The Island, Lost Island too tho thats pushing it

Yes, those caps for regular dinos like the 450 would be applied under normal circumstances. The issues is: can they breed and raise and level to 600 before downtime?

You'd have to have a baby born at least around 520 then raise and level up. I'm not sure you can do that on officials rates.

The parents would have to have 450 or less with opposing stats. But you'd still have to obey timers for breeding and baby raising time. Otherwise the baby would get culled during server restart.

Unofficials don't have to have those limits.

Small tribes is 4x to 4.5x most rates and half mating duration plus 2x imprint. Better than the 2.5x of Single Player mode.
I've not checked the time to breed or raise on an ichty in a hot minute, but that sounds really plausable.

You could keep some special tames just to get a high weekend to make some joker one-off babies just to do things like this.

If you are looking to host your own, and it to be for a casual group. The best option is to buy a refurb pc from Amazon and use it to host. Just need a relatively okay cpu, 16gb min ram, no gpu. $120 is a good range. And it'll last years.

I just lost like an hour of progress (my ark dosent close properly and crashes whenever i save and exit so i have to use tge "saveworld" command) i was heading to the shadowmane area on fjordur and i had to leave so i manually saved my game THREE DAMN TIMES, saved and exited, the game crashed as normal but apparently the saveworld command didnt register so now i have to go get more fungal wood

potentially you could use the cloud to hold a backup back that won't work for everybody
