anyone else having the latest NVIDIA driver update (Jan 17th) crash the computer when launching ASA? I got a bluescreen everytime I launched ASA but not until that, and had to roll back to an earlier version. And the reason for even updating were the gpu out of memory crashes I quite often get in ASA -.- (I have rtx 4080, so gpu memory shouldn't be an issue)

I'm trying to figure out if the issue is the driver, the installation or for example the anticheat with the new driver..

I don’t play single player but I would leave area and then go back. I think reloading the area makes things respawn quicker at least that’s what I am seeing in official pve

Leave the area for about 5-10 minutes then go back, usually respawn everything. On SP, I've been doing that for Carno island farm n it works decently. Usually just fly back to the tip of the mainland n wait 🤷🏽‍♂️

when you buy the basic ark survival evolved you get access to
-Free maps (Ragnarok, Valguero, The Center, Fjordur, Crystal Isles, The Island, Lost Island) might have missed some not sure
(idk what are those levels in store)

You can also buy the season passes (genesis pass unlocks Gen1 and Gen2, aka the last DLC story maps) or (season pass, which unlocks the first 3 DLC story maps that are absolutely gorgeous and fun to play), if I were to choose I'd 100% go for the season pass, as Scorched Earth, Aberration and Extinction are the only good paid maps out there

After the patch nothing grew. So picked up all planters and reseeded them.
They grew berrys, but after they were harvested, nothing has grown since.
Noticed the planters were showing 0 fertalizer but all were full.

@vital wave not entirely. So first 255 points in a stat is the max, but if they hatch with 255 you will be unable to level that stat, so we aim for 254 points. Xp levels don't count towards the 255 cap. Dinos can earn a max of 88 xp levels and have a hard cap of 450 (some from later maps can go to 500) so your perfect mutation bred dino will be level 362 at hatch which gives you 362 points to distribute as you want via breeding. Good example is giga as they are straightforward, hp and melee. You would want 254 points in melee and 108 in hp, zero'd everywhere else.

Quick correction, you get 361 points to distribute as a level 1 dino has no points in any stat, they are just the flat base value.

You are right about the each mutation is 2 points, bit where did you get the 175 from? You won't get wild tames starting with 175 points in any stat.

If you’re playing on single player then usually they have a difficult time respawning, you can put in the command to wipe all wild dinos. Usually they will respawn after that.

nope its pretty much in the same terrible state it always has been, and given its mainly a copy of ASE code, i would actually be surprised if WC, out of all the studios, manages to fix and optimize their broken code. There hasnt been much of a change in the past months
and unless you have at lesat a 3080 dont even think of running it on anything above mostly low to medium settings, with additional console-commands to disable alot of the graphical features of it, making it almost worse looking than ASE.

That's kinda harsh dont you think? I've been playing ASA since launch and performance has improved significantly since then and many of the annoying bugs (floating babies etc) have been fixed. It's a very demanding game with demanding graphics so Im not surprised that it doesn't run well on old graphic cards.

If you've already refunded the game twice over in the space of a few months from launch that gives me the impression you aren't the type of person that is well suited for Early Access titles. Though I guess it does depend on what time periods you refunded from.

I would wait a while more even wait another 6 months to ask that question again. The game isn't unplayable by any means but it has bugs across all aspects of the game that depending on your tolerance can be minimal to Uninstall worthy and judging by your stated history with ASA so far, I'd say you would be doing the latter.

well, you sure you got the right settings? for example some options disable placing structures around loot drops, another one disables placing structures in caves or material-rich areas, and there should also be an option that will let the structures clip into terrain completely

But if you need to, you can always disable the fluid interaction as there is a setting in the graphics options. theres various things causing crashing atm, varies from computer to computer ,
try these things one at a time and test to see if it helps
rtx stuff on is a common one(dlss,framegeneration etc), so turn it all off

the new gamemode overhaul stuff will allow some really cool modding opportunities, probably wont change much on the technical side for "normal" mods

yea i dunno nowt much bout game code but i wandered if it was to do with the way the gfx change going into inventory as it sort pauses whats going on on screen outside of the inventory, despite actually still running in game as sucj, sry i dont explain well

big overhaul mods have always been highly popular, and highly difficult to make. a lot of them are a ball of hacks working around existing game systems

i hope the dev kit helps with mappers since it sounds like the current system for making maps seems slightly obscure and hard to use

maybe we can finally see a primitive+ successor that is not impossible to maintain with updates 👀

it is just new. the way maps are made in ue5 is almost completely different in every way, so people are still adjusting

it is a lot better, though. it automatically tiles sections of the world, instead of forcing the developer to split everything into dozens of tiles and subtiles, much better performance and optimization for the actual terrain as well.. but it is all unfamiliar
