both because of lag when its 70/70, and you cant log back in if you dc because the server is full, further making it unplayable

and because of tame cap on server, you cannot breed anything, you cannot tame anything, which during an event is a joke.

pve servers are a shitshow right now.

This game is not great in pve atm. You cannot breed, you cannot tame, and we've already done all the bosses and tek cave on alpha. There is no new content. They delayed the new maps, and we're capped so cant even tame/breed.

ours is the same way. there are short periods where we can breed or tame. I hatched a 51hp/52md rex today, and then the server capped so couldnt hatch anymore. lol We're just waiting for the pod release, but they wont even say when that is supposed to be

Yeah I’m with you, I’ve made no real progress in the sense of Dinos or breeding because of the cap and I refuse to build a huge base right now because I’d like to switch servers because this one is just blocked at every turn

Absolutely right there, but in comparison a game that is 8 years old runs better than this brand new and improved, built from the bottom up, “recoded game” shouldn’t run this badly in anyway. Look at that avatar game that’s come out, it looks 1000x better than the graphics in ark and well… runs beautifully too

If the mechanics of the game arnt the same, as a sandbox building, taming, breeding sim, then of course it’ll run better than a game that you can insert thousands of extra structures and creatures into. Games like Conan exiles the most similar to Ark I’ve seen, which still doesn’t come close, have the same issues.

Ahh but then I played Conan too and in my experience it still ran better than ark, and when the devs say they’re going to fix something or if something is wrong then it’s fixed. Also there’s no build blocking or pillaring in Conan so even they were able to solve that toxic issue, but again, WC just can not be bothered and bottom line is, any game built properly from the beginning as they said it was meant to be wouldn’t be running this poorly because let’s all stop lying to ourselves, the code was copy and pasted into UE5 in the hopes the software would do the work for them. all the devs did was was add or change a few features and probably touched up the map

Did you play on a 70-80 pop server? I ran one for 3 years. Anything over 40 and the game performance suffered regardless of a beefy host machine.

No, I only ever play official, I feel it’s how the game is supposed to be played. No, that’s fine I’m not saying you’re sticking up for ASA but then it wouldn’t be running this bad if they did what they said they were going to do but they didn’t. So if they did it would be running great and people wouldn’t be stuck at tame cap because the right measures would be put in place to begin with. When a “remake” or “remaster” comes out, everything is released at once not drip fed and snail and WC were so goddamn greedy they couldn’t help but shut down ASE and get this new one on sale. They were taking out millions in loans so money wasn’t an excuse.

However they have had to do numerous things, from lowering the render range to lowering the amount of items you can harvest, even making baby dinos no clip to reduce the server load, because the servers are overloaded even when its not 70/70. The game is playable on med pop servers atm because they've gutted a lot of the game to make the lag not so bad that the game is unplayable

I was on ps4 during but I’m on ps5 now, The game in itself ran well with lag where you’d expect it, large bases etc but it had an awful crashing issues at the worst times and we had to restart before every boss run in the fear of crashing during teleporting. But credit where it’s due, ASA is running better in the sense of crashes, I’ve crashed once in about 60/70hrs of gameplay

shudders sometimes I fatal error crash when accessing inventories in my treehouse but I moved those structures and now it doesn’t happen. What you describe sounds like pain.

For me it only takes 10 seconds to load into a server after selecting it from main, and an extra 10 or so to open the game itself

Imprinting is broken on our private server, doesn't matter what it wants, it's like everything is cuddle.

It wants exception kibble, no stress, just interact with it and it'll count.

Also, console players have to plug a mouse in to see what food the baby wants. Is this a known issue too?

if that line doesnt exist in your server settings you can add it in, an change to say 750 to get that amount, there maybe a limit on how high it goess so prob dont go over 999

yknow i’ve waited a few weeks before writing this, but i can’t believe WC is pushing the roadmap out to 2025. Ark 2 is(was?) supposed to release (already late) in Q1 of 2024 which would combat against the dev resources and server resources from ASA. They’ve made so much off ASA, I don’t see why they wouldn’t invest back into the company and hire more developers to push content to us at a reasonable time to satisfy customers. @heavy cedar @viral shore i hope one of you could better educate me with an honest reasoning that we’re gonna wait till Q4 2025 to have the complete remastered product? If it’s purely a monetary reasoning, i speak for the trees saying we rather pay another 40 for the a full DLC by this summer than wait another year(if all goes to plan)

ummm,,,,, no way the majority of players is going to plunck down more money on the chaos that is the current Ark:ASA with lord knows what in the future since they have never hit a timeline yet.... WC & Snail are debt heavy and cash poor - it is why they keep taking out loans and why they made a garbage deal with Nitrado to get some extra cash just to do what they have done so far with Ark:ASA. The whole concpet of Ark2 hated by a very large chunck of the Ark player base - this is why we have Ark:ASA and not Ark2 atm... WC and Snail are in serious trouble with a sizeable part of the player base due to the shady way they are handling Nitrado vs self hosted dedicated servers and the horrible issue with ASA and PVP loving players due to the out of control exploits. Heck they pulled down the windows players from crossplay when they foolishly release the windows version without anything like BattleEye or something to police the cheats on official servers. Expect more chaos in the foeseeable future instead of anything resembling an orderly implementation of their 'timeline' they published.

I know how breeding works but I'm not confident enough to give a breakdown of it. I know that the level is, at least partially, irrelevant, since stat points are what matters. Higher level dinos have more stat points to distribute.

The offspring will get delt the stats at random from both parents. So it could get all the high stats and come out as a higher level, or all the low stats and come out at a lower level.

In order to get a perfect Rhynio, both the Bronto and the Rhynio would need to be perfect 150 tames and you would need to satisfy all of the bronto's cravings (really hard to do from my experience, they ask for some stupid stuff)

I've played 1.7k of ARK Survival Evolved, I have all DLC's all of it.

Ark Survival Ascended imo does not run well on PC at all. Like at all, I have a 3070 and it runs well on low with HORRENDOUS graphics, like worse then ASE.

Is it even worth it? Or should I just refund on steam and stick to ASE until they fix up ASA?

No as the decos and emotes are part the games code. Removing the mod would only remove the means to build from wishbones and turkeys not spawning anymore. You will keep anything that was crafted from the smithy.

And reinstalling the mod simply just reactivates the turkeys spawns and engrams to be crafted again

Hey, since we don't have movement speed leveling on official anymore I was wondering if we could get some sort of "fly hack kick" like mechanic since nobody at Wildcard or Snail seem to care enough to ban cheaters and ban people for chat violations instead. The automated system that Rust uses seems pretty neat, atleast you could get the cheaters using speed hacks to slow down or use the information of which players get kicked repeatedly for excessive movement speed to locate cheating tribes. Every server I join has speedhackers and chinese tribes aimbotting. It shouldn't be that big of an issue banning cheaters. Start banning whole tribes more often and see if people will want to play with cheaters still ☺️

Need help with an ASA building issue I'm having with mod items.

Some items (from mods) just will not place. Here's an example mod: Reinforced structures.

If I try to place a Reinforced Foundation and press "R" - default key - to switch style to triangle foundation, the foundation preview just disappears within a second. There's no green preview/outline, I won't be in build mode anymore because if I try to place, I'll attack instead. If I try to press hotkey or go in inventory to place item again, nothing happens. At all.

Is this a mod issue, or something on my end? Assuming this makes sense.

Can anyone who sees this please do me a favor.... Go to 50 x 50 on your Island map and tell me if there are any random structures or dinos floating in the air. Please fly to the top where the barrier and fly back down to ground. On our server random player structures keep appearing there... Like 20 foundations all inside each other with a smithy and forge lol.

There's a mod that spawns more gigas and carchas. You can set how many will spawn at one time and uses the giga and carchas spawn areas. I set mine to 8. It's random so it can be like 5 gigas and 3 carchas. It works really good, crossplay too

And if they do, how much food should I give my Dino’s when I’m offline for 18 hours (sleep and school)?

The berry eaters I’m not so worried about, it’s mostly the carnivores that scare me

Never tried that one. So I can't give you an honest opinion, if I ever wanted to do a playthrough, I would do Primal chaos or one of those overhaul mods, because it's really different from vanilla ark

Anyone know why the devs kind of really messed up the terrain for bulding? Some places that would be good locations have massive holes in the ground smack in the middle of the area.... Most areas on the map are super unneven and difficult to build on for newer players. Was this intentional, I wonder? Just seems weird. They butchered the Redwoods Lake base location.. among others. If we could stack foundations this would not be an issue.

Sure, u can use quarter walls and stuff... but it still looks terrible since u cant Switch foundations to Block anymore and the more pieces we use for the build the quicker we are going to encounter lag.

that way you can experience the game the way it was meant o be played. Then after you beat it add mods and have fun!

If you want to stick with vanilla but have better wild dinos, use custom dino levels mod. More higher level dinos will spawn so you don't spend 20 mil hours looking for a high level rex or megatherium

That mod and I use random configs to give higher chance for mutations, instead of taking 20 mil days to get a good mutations stat

You can make your xbox back to factory settings. It's in the settings of the xbox

It will delete everything like you have a new xbox

All your saves will be linked to your account so you will still have your stuff but it will factory reset the Xbox. Could be corrupt data in the cache of your xbox
