I’m console only too, so I’m not playing yet either. But I think people’s perspective is a bit off, and that’s not to say you don’t have some valid points. But, at the moment the devs have a monumental task of just getting things stable for PC. If you add into the mix console too and that bringing in all the issues it inevitably will, they just won’t be able to keep up at all, and it will then have the opposite effect. Multiplayer will be on the never never on console because they have too much to juggle already. If they stabilise the servers and get things to a smooth(ish) standard then add console in with these fixes already in place that means they can focus more on console specific stuff and not be overwhelmed. Also say they did just release single player for console as people keep asking, and it’s broken to hell and has loads of issues, people will moan and whinge out their ass about it and they will still get just as much shit, so why bother? They won’t have the time or man power to fix it because they are already at max capacity with PC servers and stuff, so it will just create a total negative cycle of people being pissed off anyway. So… imo just releasing single player for console makes the whole shituation even more messed up all round.

Most people can't even run the game at a consistent 60 on the lowest setting and the people who do have the high-end PCs good enough to even ATTEMPT Epic settings keep crashing every 20-30 minutes and losing either all or partial progress for those minutes, not to mention the absolute state of the dedicated servers right now, which wasn't nearly as much of a problem because ASE on launch didn't have nearly as many people trying it as ASA, it was completely new. There's no superiority to the 'I was there and I had it worse' mindset. I was there too and this launch is a verifiable shitfest.

I encourage everyone to try Svartalfheim, the modded map. Visually it's the same as ASE, but the performance is absolutely superb. Makes me wish they would let people play Island with original graphics as an optional addon, as everyone could run it then.

The pathfinding is better, yes. It's not perfect, but following dinos will get stuck significantly less often. My Raptor pack pretty much dominates any threat they come across, even Carno-Alpha packs in the North. That said, they really need to add some sort of formation mechanic so following dinos don't all try to stand in a ball behind you. Having my Raptors flank me in a V formation when possible would just be better overall.

I have a theory, neither I or any of my tribemates has seen the official server count over 200,
My theory is the reasoning behind the Servers Being Down for so long between times is that they are swapping servers in and out for activity because they cannot exceed hosting over 200 servers for whatever their reason is. Our server has came back up generally around the same time everyday so far and went down during similar times, wether this has something to do with it or not, its quite suspicious that theres only 200 servers at most at a time. WildCard is cheaping out and hiding things from us.

The game was literally copied from an old engine onto a new engine, they didn't recode it from the ground up, it's just the same thing but on a newer, better-looking engine. What early access means is there will be glitches and game breaking bugs you've obviously never supported the early access genre

When ASE came out, a 10 year old card was the minumum spec and could run it okish.

Now, we have ASA, where a 4 year old card can run min spec okish and the 3 year old cards are squeaking in the mid ranges.

The problem here is most of the people with 3-5 year old tech expect a new game to be playable at high settings. Unfortunately for them, UE5 is THE NEXT GEN top of the line requirement to run at HIGH/EPIC.

Go back to when Crisis came out and it's the exact same 'problem'. Today we now have equipment that can run Crisis at full blast. Back when it came out, hardly anyone could utilize all the features it had to offer.

Given a few more years, and ASA will be nothing compared to what will come out in the future.

This is how tech progresses, and it's dogshit. Companies quite literally don't bother even TRYING to optimize shit anymore, they just throw it to the crowd and expect YOU to shell more $$$ to upgrade your rig so it can brute force the garbage they're trying to feed you.

The only two fixes I personally give a shit about is the constant progress-wiping crash, and the tether distance in non-dedicated. Nobody really cares about that second one but it's still a problem, you can't ever be more than like 200 feet from the host no matter what you actually set the tether distance to, which makes it hard for a non-dedicated tribe to multitask. Everyone just has to go do the same thing at the same time.

The problem is this isn't a new game. It's a remastered game. Don't blame Wildcard, though they were forced to release it because of a snail games contract with Nortrido. WC would have probably worked on it for a bit longer but were forced to release it.

This is not a simple "bug" or a "glitch." This is negligent development.

The "AI improvements" don't even exist. The AI is worse, due to further reducing the character model sizes.
