if your download is stuck at 2% the fix is to just let it continue, it's a visual glitch in steam as it continues installing and it will finish after a bit. took like 20 mins of being stuck on 2% for mine to finish installing

@gleaming wyvern the amount of people saying they're pooping on us is downright insane. WC is doing their best. Snail made deals that puts WC under huge pressure financially to release before November. Yay, they did, but there are flaws and to be quite honest if anyone expected a flawless launch no matter the date you lied to yourself. WC has done a fantastic job, and yes they still have plenty more to do, but they're working on it. The fact that we have Ark on UE5, with Crossplay, and all-platform mod support is an insane delivery to make, more than most other games to date.

Currently all the big issues are.... hilariously survivable. A reboot to fix, or like a 3hr-in crash, or installer trouble, these are all so minor.

Hey everyone. I wanna make my ASA experience the most like ark mobile that I can, since I played so much ark mobile and are more familiar with the features, game progression and stuff. Basically what I’m looking for is this: what numbers should I use for settings like tame speed, day/night cycles, xp gain, difficulty, and basically every setting to make the experience similar. I play on Easy casual if that helps. If anyone has an answer feel free to dm so your message doesn’t get buried, and thanks to anyone who can help!
Note: also looking for mods that show your taming progress or cooking progress like ark mobile does, specifically that little white bar that fills up as one piece of meat cooks or a Dino eats one kibble when taming, instead of waiting for the percentage to go up without knowing how long it’ll take.

Single player works just fine, I've been watching my roommate since launch. Again, like I said, if you expected a flawless launch you lied to yourself. Nitrado has never been the best, but $3mil of funding certainly does buy server exclusivity... that's not on WC. And again, when we acknowledge WC had to rush an October release due to deals made above their paygrade, there could be a ton more problems still instead. I think folks need to just take a step back and relax, and let WC work on their issues while they aim for the global release not just a PC release. I can pretty much guarantee once PS5/XB release, all of these issues will be resolved. Maybe others, yes, but these will be fixed by then. And the community can enjoy a true full launch not an early launch

Could you imaging the panic if when Console version comes out if people actually banded together and did not buy it for a period of time. The number of QoL and changes I've seen in ASA already tell me WC are doing their best to deliver us the best experience. They have priorities and can't fix everything at once though. And in my books an issue enabling players to gain admin, among other things, are pretty seriously top priority than not all players being able to connect online right away. In my eyes, WC released now to appease Snail. And in my eyes, WC's true launch is still when all 3 platforms go live together. To each their own I guess.

You'd be pissed if they delayed again anyway so you shouldn't use that as an excuse for your disappointment. ASA has been released as an Early Access game, meaning it's going to be unpolished. It is the second day so don't expect every issue to be fixed overnight. Patience is a virtue, my friend.

From sifting through these ashes Ive heard the standard pillar with ladder does not suffice but two pillars and a ladder does just a heads up. Also if you're a legacy player you know you'll outlast those pillar timers. A lot of these kids will be gone in no time.

It's just best to ignore the negative comments in general. There's a lot of loud complaints. I expected this to not be a smooth release. Oh don't get me wrong, I sometimes long for a competent PC for gaming but I'm just use to console at this point. (Plus the PS5 emptied my wallet so I have no other option at this point, really). To answer your question however, there are two reasons: One being that I'm an Ark wh0re, a genuine addict for all things dinos and such. And two, I more or less understand the process that goes on with games like this, therefore I am relatively more understanding and patient enough to wait for thing to get patched up and improve over time. Sometimes things just don't work out for no apparent reason, especially when it comes to coding and other aspects of game development, so no use in getting upset on the second day of an Early Access game's release. That's how I see it anyway.

Well, to be honest I'm upset because my server has been down for over 6 hours and I've wanted to play this game for a long time especially considering I just spent $40 on it. I expected the game to not go "smooth" but I also didn't expect them to leave cheats on resulting in us having to wait 3 hours for them to wipe the servers, which they didn't end up doing, and the servers had to go back down for them to wipe it.

I actually completely agree with this. Lots of people get to experience what it's like without all the extra OP stuff. New people were always given crazy high stat dinos within a day or two of joining, and many would end up leaving because they got a bit spoiled - or would spend all their time scared to lose the pretty new things someone gave them.

@neon rampart @obtuse matrix of course people are upset the servers are offline and crashing. People want to spend their time playing and not waiting. But it really is their fault for sitting here twiddling their thumbs. Walk away from the game and do other stuff for a few days. If you're not worried about claiming land and/or getting a massive headstart over everyone else, then you can easily just chill out and do something else. It's not ideal, but it is what it is. Don't waste your own time when it's something outside of your control.

Graphically, the one thing I absolutely hate visually in A:SA is the beach. It's not sand. It's rocks. And worst is, it's the same size rocks you look for in early game. So the ground is covered in these ugly rocks that are not resource grabbable. Where'd the beautiful sand go?

Yeah when I first joined, a person flew over on a wyvern and passed me one. My husband is an OG player so he stored all that because it was just too much for early game, and he's talked a lot about how tech made the late game a bit too easy, that early on PVP was the best. I didnt experience that, but im really glad for those PVP enjoyers that amazing early-ark experience can be back!

Weird stuff like raising babies in the ice caves in Rag before cryopods, so that you could navigate it with dinos as well, its an entirely new side of ark only OG players got to experience that now everyone can for awhile, i'm glad you see it the same way!

I'm lowkey looking forward to raising a dino line or two from scratch, but it'll be on PvE. I don't generally do the PvP servers anymore. Left a bad taste in my mouth a few years back when I tried ARK for the first time. For two weeks straight every day that I logged in I had to punch trees and start from scratch, my house and any dinos would get destroyed overnight while I was offline, in that two week period only one day did my stuff not get destroyed lol

The game is beautiful when it’s working. But the servers are awful right now. Once you finally manage to get into a server you just have to hope it doesn’t crash, DC you, or your entire game crashes. Because then it’s back to square one spamming join until it lets you back in.

The hard limit refund time does not apply on Steam if the title is in EA - you can refund up until two weeks in that case, to my knowledge, and are not limited to the standard two hours. If you want a refund you can still submit it.
We need and I want more servers too, but they can’t keep the ones they have up so I understand their logic in not opening more, though I disagree with it it is understandable.
Yes the launch was rushed because of contractual obligations, yes WC often messes launches up…all we can hope for is that they make the servers playable soon

I feel like they changed the raptor's spawns for ASA somehow? I built a base in a spot in the south where I've never seen raptors in ASE but large groups kept spawning outside (even an alpha) and killed all my tames??

Turn on XMP, and accelerated GPU scheduling. I also changed some settings in the camera and got more fps.

ASA folder > ShooterGame > Saved > Config > Windows > GameUserSettings.ini (Edit this in Notepad)
CTRL-F to find and change:
