There’s a rumor that the first ASA trailer is coming on Oct 6th. One day after they release the save files from ASE. Source says the wait is so that the final communication for ASE will be complete and then they will switch fully into ASA content releases. Game still releases end of October tho. Long month!

Darts are really good for any animal in all honesty the few exceptions are the egg steal creatures or passive tames which as what I said you need to do specific stuff to tame those creatures and as for the weak guns, they’re all okay in a pve environment but I’d honestly say the pump action and maybe the simple pistol are the best weapons to use

The first and brief time I had played Ark I had an uneasy coexistence with a Spinosaurus.

Then, hoping the game would have been realistic in that aspect, I lured it towards a wild Brontosaurus.

Big mistake, Spinosaurus killed the sauropod and then proceeded to slay all my tames, leaving me unscathed as if it were a mockery for my error.

Thats a no brainer. Shoot arrow at them and lead them off. Hit n run over n over

The best option I’d say is to get everything out your inventory and then lead the large predator away from your base. Either that or you do a more unfortunate thing and move location to a more calm location

As Cax said, Therizinosaurus are as strong as Rexes on their own. There’s also trikes if they’re in large groups as long as the carnivore in question is low level and not something like a carchara or a giga

Raptors are solid choice early game. They are fast, hit quickly, and get a pack bonus so they get stronger in numbers.

Pteras you bola and then can shoot Tranq arrows into their head (they take bonus damge to their heads). With a standard crossbow even a max level goes down in 3 shots.

But as for the best base location on the island sense you’re solo, look into finding a location known as hidden lake. It’s as the name suggests it lies north east near the snow and 2 mountain peaks in the main land. You’ll have access to water, a good supply of nearby Dino’s for both food and taming. Nice flat land near the lake. Easy access to metal, crystal and poly when you get a good flier, and the most important thing, real easy access to carnivore island for some nice high level meat eaters

Ya, bola then club or tranq arrow. Either works. They aren't difficult to tame and make grwat guard dogs. Keep a few on follow to you till you can get airborn on a Ptera or Argentavis

But as said about the gigas and carcharas, stay away from them. They’re the real apexes of the island and both are really fast and powerful

Gigas with a single bite kill most things but if it does survive it applies a bleed effect that melts 1% of hp from a tame. Doesn’t sound bad until you realize the bleed resets with each bite

Carcharas meanwhile are kinda the opposite to gigas. When they bite they apply an effect that stops natural health recovery for a set amount of time and when Carcharas eat a body their speed and damage sky rocket and it can stack up to 100 times I believe but that part could just be restricted to tamed ones

Ah, Ark ascended is basically a Remaster/remake to the base game. It’s going to be in Unreal engine 5 and it has a lot of unique things coming like new Dino’s and a new dlc map down the road

All existing maps will be revamped and added later down the road

Ascending in the game is when you beat the 3 bosses on Alpha difficulty and that unlocks a new special cave. It leads to a 4th boss called the Overseer. Beating that "ascends" you. It's the lore way of getting to Scorched Earth and unlocking more max levels

Hidden lake, 20, 70. It’s as the name suggests and the only dangers that could spawn here is sarcos, theris, and raptors and the rare spawns of Carnos and Troodon packs but if you got a few decent games you’ll be fine

If you have access to a bird you can easily fly to the nearby mountain ranges that are located nearby the lake. The mountains are a hot spot for not just metal bit obsidian and crystal as well as being nearby carnivore island so you can easily get a set of high level Rexes for boss fights

Sounds about right for you then. Want enough flattish land to expand your growing army. Get a stone base up and some walls. Either use Dino gates or just fence foundations and walls. Walls should be 3-4 high

Nice! Get that base set up then use that as a center point to slowly explore outwards from there. Thats a big part of the fun, and I wont spoil it for you.

But utility dinos are great. Argentavis (the big eagles) haul a ton. Ankylo for flint and metal gathering. Beavers in rivers for wood gathering. The rolly polly looking dudes called Doedic for stone gathering.

Artifacts you can look up on youtube if you dont want to explore for the cave locations. The big floating oblisk are all 3 the same, just where you do boss fights at when you're ready. Also Argentavis are the bird looking ones with feathers. The huge ones that never land are Quetzel. THOSE things are essentially flying buses. Made to just haul things long distances but slowly

any tips on taming the argentavis, ive seen them but they always run, i have a ghilly suit and i can get near them, but idk if i should use metal bolas or shock darts

I shoot them to get them to follow me then use Dino gate frames. Make a sort of "tunnel" that you can walk out the sides of but they cant fly. Put a door on each end and open on side. Lure the Argentavis in, close the door, walk out

I like to use 5 gates, and 2 doors.

They can be aggresive if you get close enough. They also fly towards dead bodies near them to eat. But yes, that's the plan! There's tons more ways to trap them and other things but this is a simole one.

Price, value, and effect had me come to the conclusion that the best guns by far are the pump shotgun, and simple pistol.

Pump shotgun is surprisingly good at long range, but devastating at closer range. Plus if you reload in third person view, it reloads as quickly as the AR.

Simple pistol is a good replacement for a sniper rifle. You can put a scope on it for long range accuracy, it has no sway while aiming down sights, the recoil is just an animation, and with its perfect hit scan, you can hit the exact same spot every shot if you do not move. Plus, it does 100 base damage with that perfect aim, while the fab sniper does 165 base damage, but also has sway, expensive ammo, super low durability, and it is heavy. The pistol does 2/3 the damage of the sniper, but the convenience, cost, stability, and reliability tends to make up for that missing 1/3 damage. It is also easier to get a max blueprint pistol than it is to get even a good sniper blueprint.

Best melee is the sword for damage, but the pike is good if you need the extra range, and push back effect per attack. But the absolute best melee is Mjolnir, once you earn it.

Not necessarily :S apparently the way the contract is in theory means that if Snail Games releases after the start of November it makes that happen which would in theory kill ASE forcing people that might not buy ASA otherwise to buy it to be able to play a dino taming game at all lol. A cluster is a group of services that only people within those servers can transfer between. IE my friend and I plan on opening up A Cluster called Almost Vanilla. Once more maps release we will ad those in allowing people to transfer to different maps.

if the spino is level 150 and you’re on 1x taming it’s about 500ish narcotics to keep it a sleep long enough
