That and human speed being at base 24/7 makes the player rely a lot more on tames which is what makes Ark unique in my eyes. The Dino’s being there to act as a support for the player sense alone the player won’t last long. So I personally don’t mind the change. In fact I praise it sense this adds a new layer to gameplay and makes it so people gotta actually be smart about what they fully do

Gigas average max are around 260-280 never 300 and even then the levels I gave are likely too high

R-gigas with base levels go up to 180, plus the lvl boost which is about I think 88 if it’s a perfect tame plus the extra 88 sense gen2 changed the 72 levels to 88 which gives the 300+ but a giga that’s 150? That’s impossible without breeding

R gigas wild are max 150. past tamed, they can go to 224.
the only difference in levels is their max level. They can go to lvl 500, whereas normal gigas only go 450.
also r gigas have 5% dmg multiplier on top

The server as you said has wild tames set to 150 so you won’t spot things that are past that unless they’re tek, a voidwyrms, a wyvern or corrupted as well as specific caves with creatures hitting past lvl 500. As well as the titans of extinction

I done all my boss battles on an unofficial server and wild were boosted as well. Tek cave was dangerous cause the two giga in the on the way to the boss in the island were level 1500 x.x

Hyaenodons are pretty beast tbh, I considered breeding them on Official for boss fights some months ago as their DPS is through the roof when pet-buffed and pack-buffed and they reheal 50% health whenever they eat a body. Their base health isn't great but as long as they keep a steady stream of kills from adds it doesn't matter.

Dire Wolves had a weird mechanic though, the pack buff only extends out to like 5 wolves max and they actually take more damage and deal less when the leader isn't buffing them with Howl, so be careful with that

Only happened to me once. This alpha tribe was a douche and demanded tribute or be wiped. They Fd up and got a 150 unicorn I was taming killed. I called em out on it. They got mad. Oh my lord they lost their minds... so my 3 man tribe organized eith 2 other tribes and wiped em. ASA brings a perfect opportunity to revive the game to its former glory. So many dinos have become outdated because of op dinos from new DLCs. Now would be a perfect time to improve existing dinos and nerf dinis that haven't been "published" yet.

For example:
-what's the point of having a Hesperornis for golden eggs when all you need is some Deinos constantly mating. Maybe increase the golden egg chance to 100% per five fish eaten?

There are SO many old dinos that need some love and this is the perfect moment.

I won't lie, if ASA is like 99% the same game in a new skin with minor changes, I will be disappointed.

Well the PvP changes on official seem kinda nice to me atleast on console. The speed change the fliers had now applies to players and Dino’s making it so you gotta move normally now and don’t got super speed with tiny hitbox. Now it’s just tiny people moving normally but now you also gotta rely heavily on your tames for victory

Remasters often change things as well for balancing or improving gameplay look at the original resident evil and the remaster, they changed several things and improved on a lot gameplay and story wise.

The speed change also adds a new reward to those that get tek sense it helps them with the speed issue

Movement speed change could be enhanced in other ways instead of a stat. Perhaps the foot-wear will now provide movement speed enhancements. Certain shoes might provide better speed. Maybe it’s to make some Dino’s more usable. Maybe there won’t be any movement speed perks and they just want to reduce certain gameplay mechanics in favor of others.

technically crossplay will be enabled at launch between playstation, xbox, and windows (microsoft store), however not for Steam so we can rapidly iterate, but later in the year once we're on rapidcert on the 1st parties (sony/microsoft) cert, then we can enable crossplay on everything and will merge two of the networks (the xbox/playstation/microsoft network and the steam network)

Its the way patches are released. Atm certain ones go thru verification much faster than other platforms. So for now they have steam seperate and steam will be their test subject essentially. Windows, xbox and PS are all cross platform atm now.

So just waiting on them able to hook up with Steam.

Now that is something you can actually be mad at sense carry weight is something a human can actually fully train for reliably but humans with speed are pretty stagnant
