Depends on what role you need. Brontos are only really useful for building on their platform saddles (requires lvl 82) or gathering large amounts of thatch. They're too slow to be useful for much else

You'll want to tame different dinos for different roles eventually, but I would recommend 2 good starter ground mounts: Iguanodon (fast, long distance runner) and Sabertooth (good all-round mount, decent speed with decent power)

I usualy start on south z2 and do a small note run then I trie to make "a base" (foundations whit the basic stuff) then tame a pt, after the pt tames (decent level obviously) I go to the wiki to figure out the location of more notes (ones I cant remember) then I do another note run (on pt back of course) untill I get around lvl 62 then try and tame an argy in one of the mountains outside the ice biome

I usualy go to the redwood one but dont recomend (u have to fly way above the trees so kitys dont pounce on ya)

A little more investigation. It turns out this a bug that affects most or all flyers. We just never notice it because no other flyers spawn this far from land. If you fly out to the areas where pelagornis are stuck and spawn pteranadons they also get stuck like this.

So- my tamed levels seem to be passing down to my argy’s kids. It’s weird, he was level 125 when he hatched. I leveled him up to over 200, and then bred him with a level 130 and got a level 166 argentavis. This was on singleplayer

You can switch between maps freely, and you're not supposed to lose a character or anything, but Ark is a bit buggy so there is a very slight chance you can lose your character.

There’s separate settings for wild and tamed. Wild should be left alone. Messing with that can cause all kinds of issues with taming. Change that back to 1.

super cold and super dangerous, water does damage to you and level 300 polar bears and yetis spawn

but u get tons of good loot crates
