I have a question about mutating. When my male breeding rex hits 20/20 mutations, it cannot generate any new mutations anymore correct? So the only ones who can trigger mutations are the females. However, the females all have bad stats as they have 0 mutations. So when a female triggers a mutation, how will this ever be to my advantage?

i usually get mutations whenever i start breeding stuff right away (normally / most commonly, as both parents are clean, with the new DLC stuff) and oftentimes struggle keeping the mutations out when i try to combine lines/stats lmao
and that is with only about 5-15 dinos, within the first 3 or so mating cycles ^^

On mobile, for the same amount of gunpowder and one ingot, you got 3 shotgun shells instead of just one on Xbox, and 5 of basically every kind of ammo type per craft whereas you just get one or two of everything on Xbox

I got half a dozen campfires and multiple refineries burning stacks and stacks of wood constantly to farm charcoal and it’s hardly enough to keep my goddamn shotgun supplied 💀

Your greenhouse dont need to be large if not for aesthetic reasons, as long as it gives 300% bonus for crop plots (500% for tek), u can stack multiple crop plots on each other

Hey guys just wanted to say a few things about the Fjordor map after playing on it solo for a month

Fjordor is probably the best generalist map in the game for both resources and tames with a few niche advantages particularly relegating to creature variants

It has the most activities to do apart from genesis which I have not played, the mini bosses give easly blueprints and element and also make the task of killing the plain old Island bosses again more entertaining

There are more caves, more hidden areas, and more points of interest on the map than any other Ark

The tames on Fjordor are also extremely overpowered as you all probably know, the desmodus makes taming and caves easier, the andrewsarchus also makes caves easier, odd how both dinos make caves easier

Fjordor has among the best exploration of any ARK simply because of the realms, the subregions and various caves in the realms

However, Fjordor has some major issues which make other maps prefferable for some niche activities

The entire map is arctic and boring ass pine forests filled with your typical The Island Dinos like argies, stegos, gallimimus, hyenas, pteradons, carnos, raptors, trikes etc

All the interesting and beutiful areas are hidden behind realms, or deep underwater, or in caves

Three arctic biomes in the mainland with shittier variants of the dinos that spawn in the Jotunheim realm is a waste, they removed the dessert, so no morellatops, no metal rich dessert mountains, and no rock golems outside of magmasaur and lava infested areas but instead non X variants tames that spawn elsewhere on Fjordor anyways

Of the three realms on the map, they arn't super interesting, Jotunheim is cool, but Vannaland isnt very abberant

Asgard is flat and dull apart from the shadowmane genesis-implanted regions

The other flaw with this map is the fact you have to travel to caves to do bosses, and cant fight the final boss until beating the initial three first like the overseer on the island, which is a pain if you want element in the end game

In summary the main pluses of fjordor are: cool exploration, largest variety of tames on any free map, fun mini bosses

Main negatives are: bland, stale biomes, annoying to farm element, (the caves are also a pain in the ass)

the only advantage theris have is the ability to heal up quickly with sweet vegetable cakes, so you can somewhat mitigate the fire breath
they last at least a little longer than rexes do, though if you have really good rexes, they shred it as well. just gotta whistle them around a little to make sure thye arent stuck

I've never played ark before this run, and I currently have guns and cool flak armor, but all the enemies keep killing me and I don't know how to progress through a caves I find, or whatever the hell some of those big ole towers are. so get a high level rex or a giga if you can and idk what's good for caves but i remember using direwolf for them but that was sometime ago lol

and for boss fight it depends which boss your fighting i think to use which dinos for it yea so you get megatherium for broodmother boss, you usually breed them get imprints/mutations high health and dmg then take like 10 to 20 of them to fight the bosses

You can only get so far on foot. You're going to want to tame creatures soon- Ideally, lots of them, for different jobs. It helps if you approach the game with a similar mindset of Pokemon

Creatures are also tied in with progression- An anky is much better at harvesting metal than you are unless you have some incredibly endgame tools, and even then you can do selective breeding to make an incredibly potent one. Guns are really nice for self defense on foot, but a T. rex is almost always going to do more damage. And so on and so on

Hoversail is a quick travel option, and it lets you do sick tony hawk-esque tricks

I think thats more of an in general server issue and not so much wildcard. That and its likely you made your base so big your console cant handle it. Had that happened to me once and a while in an actual server

Its more directly south, best advice is grt a flier and scout out the south portion of the island until you find a small mountain, you'll find small deposits of crystal and a big amount of metal there

Click the back button on your controller and youll pull up a small map

You can then look up where crystal deposits are and you can mark them on the map

Its a specific button combo i forgot what it was but i know you can mark areas, i marked where every artifact on the island is and it helps me out a lot

The easiest id say is the central cave, just bring a Sabor tooth, Baryonyx or a thyla (youll likely have to bring a cryopod) with a decent saddle or with maybe 5 mutations into health and damage and you can clean that cave out in at most 5 minutes

Dangerous strat, but you can also go out a couple hundred feet in a raft and build a chest on that (outside the “near enemy structure” radius) then return to shore and fill it with wood and stone and go back out and build everything for a minor base before moving elsewhere

You need to use the command SetDifficultyValue 6 for max 180, then you would need to use the command DestroyWildDinos to allow creatures to respawn with the new difficulty, the annoying part is you have to use the SetDifficultyValue command every time you join the world otherwise it resets and creatures will spawn at the lower difficulty value.

I play on a non- dedicated server with one of my freinds, and i wanna be able to get dinos from other worlds. He doesnt have all of the diffrent worlds, but i have, and he runs the server. If i upload my carachter to a pedistal will i be able to still be on his server if i upload it or can i create a new non dedicated server myself and invite him and then just upload the dinos to our world? Or can i upload it and use it on another singleplayer world and play myself and then join and use the same sutvivor on his world

Next time after you try transferring and get host time out, don't join back the previous server, try join the other map from the main menu
