surface is complicated, you need light pets if encounted a surface reaper but still dont use it all the time as its attracts seekers

Go to a supply drop/city terminal/mission dispenser and there is a button to switch maps. It should only show maps in the cluster to switch to. You cannot just join a different map in the cluster from the main menu.

I usually forget which map my survivor is on since Ark does a bad job at tracking that for some reason.

It was super easy to gain levels like a day ago during 3x.. it is a little less easy now. Find someone with baby gigas or carchas that will let you kill them. Unless you are on unofficial, then just ask your server admin.
