For wood, a mammoth. Doesn't harvest as much as the beaver per hit, but has a lot higher carry weight and better weight reduction on wood. Can also protect itself a little better in the wild due to the knockback utility.

For stone, surprisingly, a basilisk has a great weight reduction and higher carry weight if you basically just apply levels into weight.

like, it's fast and can jump a little i guess, but it has all the small animal mobility issues and its wall climbing is more of a gimmick than useful

A spino meanwhile is also fast, gets faster when it dips its little toesies in water which most maps you'll find spinos on have a lot of, and it's a big theropod so it A) doesn't aggro anything it does not intentionally piss off B) plows through trees and such

gigas, dunkleos and arthroplura are the other ones that can break stone but they don't spawn afaik in the snow (dunkleo is a water dino) or in the gigas case extremely rare.
