just makes it so you only need to worry about the level increase then check stats :P instead of always having to check stats.

it's easier to see the mutations as the total level will change.

so you immediately know if you've got a mutation or not, when the baby is born.

if your parents are not identical, the baby can have stats that are any combination of the parents' stats.

which means the level will vary.

You'd need really good clubs, really high melee damage, and either a trap or being really good at dodging the bites though

The choice between weight and melee damage is largely personal preference. I always purely level melee on my harvesters except for niche cases like if I intend to have a karkinos carry some doeds for ULTIMATE CRAB HARVESTING

If you're intending to have something following the harvester to actually carry everything it's collecting, you're better off with pure melee damage, especially if S+ is an option and you have transfer tools. If you intend to solo harvest or take advantage of auto harvesting, spec into weight to make life easier on yourself/let the thing auto harvest longer

Some items may still not be ingame. You can download event assets mods if you're on steam though.

Dinosaurs get a level up in a random stat for each level- Something at 150 has 149 randomly assigned levels of points throughout its stats. The higher the level, the more likely you are to get really good stats
