That’s not true at all, from the wiki regarding darts-
The target's torpor will increase by 600% of the damage dealt instantaneously, as well as an additional 250% of the damage over the next 5 seconds

And arrows-
they instantly increase the target's torpor by an amount equal to 200% of the weapon damage and give an additional amount of torpor equal to 250% of the weapon damage over the course of the next 4 seconds.

"do you want to do something else for 2 hours instead"

-I've noticed that whenever I'm in the vicinity of ANY dishonour dying, even if it died due to EvE circumstances, the loot still gets placed in my inventory - is there any way to stop this/turn this off

Doesn’t it say right in the quoted message that Darts deal way higher torpor right away than arrows, but need one second more to apply the rest ?
Because I’m lazy I don’t want to cook up some graph to compare it for different damage percentages and different amounts of torpor, but generally you wouldn’t need thousands of projectiles (not even for gigas) so is the 1 second actually having an impact at all ?
Seems to me that darts get the job done faster with their way higher initial torpor dealing overall

it's that crossbow's over time torpor stacks
you can spam all the arrows and then just chill and wait

Yep they are such a godsend once you get an easy way to farm biotoxin (even tamed tusos do that greatly in my experience)
I was mainly interested in the part about darts vs arrows as deity also brought in some math but which had broken down some calculations (that i wasn’t able to see on their own) into "torpor per second” for both types. But given that darts are technically faster overall and it didn’t look like as if torpor stacking was included, I think it is a wrong formula

The females can turn every tame in the area invisible and the males do a roar that buffs their movement speed and attack speed. Then thornmail poison stacks faster reducing all damage dealt by nearly 50 percent. Even on giga bleeds and boss attacks like alpha dragons fire.

Straight up busted. Should see a rex moving with the males roar.

Afaik Shadowmanes aren't really specialist dinos in the way you might have inferred. They're good for lots of things

I think what Slaanesh was getting at was stuff like health/melee for heavy combat dinos, for example

But sometimes we tame a dino without having a real plan yet for how we'll use them

In situations like that, I sometimes hold onto points until I decide how to spend them, and sometimes I go ahead and spend the points with the intent to breed later and spend more strategically then @neon spoke

Don't worry too much about the max levels, honestly. You're going to effectively hit a soft cap where you're gaining exp very slowly long before you reach it, unless you go out of your way to grind

If you're just doing light caves, aim for something like 10k hp and then damage. If you have damage numbers, watch them and when it hits hard enough to make you happy go back to HP. If not, see if it's killing things at a good rate

so recently defeated the gamma broodmother and megapithecus, and planning to take on the gamma dragon on fjordur. i have 18 theris 10k to 15k health 500 to 550 melee; 100% imprinted

now recenty i used them to fight the alpha versions of spider and monkey, all 18 against monke and 9 of them teamed up with 9 megathers to defeat spider. what i want to know is are they ready to face the dragon? do they need more training?

honestly the way I seen people do it also is to shoot the wyverns then lead them into turrets

then grab the egg after most in the area are dead

thats usually how you do it on scorched earth since it doesnt have any pts

1. Dodo (Meme, good companions, get a handful and you've got a constant source of eggs which are free food)
2. Iguanadon (Fast and good at travel, okay at fighting weak threats if it has to, can get a farm started really easily)
3. Trike (Really good early game berry harvester, decent at thatch/wood, decent combat mount)
4. Parasaur (Alert system, better at gathering berries than your bare hands, good carry weight/mobility)
5. Anks/Doeds (Excellent at their respective harvesting, can be outmanuvered on foot extremely easily even with no speed investment, even a bad low level one can help you get out of the low level early game)

Imo the best things you can do would be to try and avoid min-maxing and try to set limits for yourself. Those things really go a long way. Might also adjust the server difficulty settings upward. As for mods, the only relevant one I know of that's popular is Primal Fear.

It’s a process called mutation stacking. Essentially you just breed a mutated male with a clean female and it allows you to almost endlessly mutate a line.

Depends on its stamina. They use stamina even when not mounted. Make sure he’s by a trough as well. If he’s actively killing things it’ll quickly starve itself to death.
