A while ago I had an idea of Scorched Earth having 3 guardians like the Island does. One of them is the Manticore, the two other are guardians resembling Sobek and Horus, Egyptian Gods. I believe the Manticore still fits into the trio because the beast was widely known in that area during ancient times.
Here’s a concept of the guardian resembling Sobek, I could see the arena being a marshland river delta with kaprosuchus spawning once in a while. Also, it would be fun if the boss’ ability was to grab a creature and immobilize it, like a megalosaurus does perhaps. I dunno. Ancient Egyptian hyperfixation rly showing off rn
