This dinosaur is a wonderful addition to the ark their mothering instinct will help with imprinting and the alertness of the females will make them quick to protect the babies till they are adolescents. 
 
Males have more saturated colors and a small red feathered crest
Females lack the saturated colors and the small red feathered crest 
Wild: The males a passive unless provoked or you go near a nest however females are territorial and will attack you if you steal their eggs or even stand 5 meters away from the nest. In oder for you to tame them you need to get a egg and hatch it you need to make it think you are it's mother and raise it to adulthood.
Tamed: once you raise a Maiasaura to adulthood they are the most loyal and protective  over any offspring that are under the adolescent stage of growth. Females give a boost to imprinting that requires feeding as long as the food the baby wants is in the inventory of the Maiasaura females also become enraged if a baby dies from being attacked having roughly a 12% boost to their attack (this will stack per baby that dies) . males are not useless as they can detect predators or hostile entities alerting any nearby Maiasauras to either flee (with large carnivores or large enemy tribe dinos) or to attack (females and males will attack medium or small threats that includes enemy tribe members that are on foot) this can be turned on or off by its owner or tribemates.
 
They love to live in plains for nesting and plentiful resources for their babies, however they are rarely spotted in the forest and in deserts.

i feel like i should probably post this here since a lot of people seem to think that pump-actions are the only reasonable option for weaponry. Here you have, from left to right, the amount of damage a primitive weapon can do before it breaks, the metal and gp cost for one bullet, the rounds per second (w¡k¡ data), the damage per second, the rounds it would take to do a million damage and the time that would take, the durability it would use up as a percentage of primitive durability, and the metal and gp cost of that million. (all primitive weapons so quality will affect this, with damage done to creatures without armor)

Judge for yourself, personally i still think pumps are the best option but assault rifles and fabricated snipers are both faster if you can afford them, and fabricated pistols are very cheap

weapon durability is dependent on usage alone and constant across high and low quality items. You're welcome! Just did some testing of my own and thought to share it.

if I chose which weaponry to include and which to leave out, it would defeat the purpose of the calculations. I just took them from the w¡k¡ list of firearms (not including the non-pump shotgun because I was lacking data, bows and stuff because they're not firearms) so longneck rifle is included. I don't play pvp and if anything the rifle's meager performance in all categories barring bullet metal cost proves your point.

alr, i saw this monument in valguero and something confused me. The creatures circling the monument are an otter, jerboa, compy, and ferox from right to left. (you can kind of see the ferox above the compy in the picture). But valguero released in June, and the announcement trailer for genesis part 1 was released in august. So why is there a ferox in the monument? Can anyone explain?
if you go to this location in game you can see it has 6 legs and the standard ferox face, that's unquestionably what it is btw

a little late, but their thing is that they can climb walls, have a cool pounce that allows them to grab onto a range of creatures, and have an immunity to fall damage. they also have a pack boost if you get more than 1. they also just look sweet
