I actually tried something similar in ark, using up and down snapped ceilings to basically layer ceilings and walls with only a tiny gap to put wires in between 😂
But it ended up messing things like roofs up (and structure count as I basically had a shell base) with slight gaps and stuff so I built around the wiring and put them inside of foundations basically or in all sorts of new staircases 😅

ALSO any hope that we can run boss from transmitter, people leaving dino in the only spot to run boss is making it impossible to run due to they teleport in the fight as well and or blocking the boss pad.

Also it's worth noting that some of the Ark streamers run their own clusters if you don't mind playing unofficial. You could take a look at them too.

Or maybe try out the game. Single player is best for getting the general idea and gameplay feel.
Pve official of you want to try to connect with random people (be aware, a lot of servers have lots of structures that won't let you build in those servers). It can hook you up with nice people that can recommend less structure spammed servers to play. Try the island map first as that's the oldest and maybe people have moved out from there

Also I know some of those 'empty' servers have people that come back and play/check. I landed in a spot on the island inside someone's mega base, and there was enough clear area that I could build a thatch longhouse right in the middle (I know...I know). I just did it to see if anyone comes on and two days later the entire house was surrounded and blocked in by megatheriums lol. So I know they still log on sometimes.
