However, in hindisight I'm thinking this was a bad idea as there's now a chance my character will be duped on Astraeos because of the roll back.

What would you advise me doing when the fix is eventually rolled out and stable? And is there an increased chance of my character being wiped upon transferring back to Astraeos.

They're great partners and do a lot to support us and the title. They're just managing a lot too and sometimes these things are a lot more complicated than they appear at the surface level, what might seem like just "send it" might actually involve multiple engineers (and at Microsft, some of the most capable engineers in the world) working through a pipeline issue. Fortunately we have two paths here, either they're able to unstuck the first one or we can push through our new one so either way it should get sorted.

Yes but the problems are derived from years of cutting corners and sloppy patchwork, there a known bugs that everyone just lets slide daily, ghost trees, all the various issues with the LC boss for example. Instead of taking the time to fix those issues they decide to push out more content (this has been their dev plan since ase early access release). Then when it finally catches up to them they have to rush out fixes for all these issues they never dealt with. They need to test their game themselves or with small groups, if they want to continue to use the players as testing grounds they need to expect and take the outrage as it is. It is just a game but i can tell you know, this is tonnes of people spent time and dedication too

ah, ok. Maybe that's what happened to my Griffin several days ago.
I went to 6089, attempted to upload at Green obi. Got a red error message but cleared it without thiking and tried again. This time it said that the dino was already uploaded recently and I would need to wait 24 hours. So, I cryo'ed it up waited for timers and then started the transfer again. This time got a message I had never seen before but continued anyway. After the 5259, my cryopod with the griffin was gone. Went back to the green obi on 6089 to see if there was a death cache and while there were a couple from me cryoing up dinos (with stuff I didn't want), there was no cryo.

I thought about opening a ticket but i had a few griffins at base and it was no big loss. Additionally, I didn't think anyone would do anything about it anyway. 🙁

Nope, not saying that at all. I think you want to believe that because you're frustrated and are jumping to conclusions. Fair enough, you're upset but we have a rigorous testing process, just ARK is a complicated game and once things get set to the masses a lot can be uncovered.

The interesting thing about this issue is that it isn't entirely consistent, the code that it relates to has existed for sometime. It doesn't reproduce in all environments, and that may be because different environments have different rules that relate to how they're used (i.e a private garden isn't managed the same way as a public park).

When this issue has surfaced, it has impacted about 800 sessions out of 4000 (possibly more) on our own network, and yet there's an existing 30,000 sessions (or more) completely unaffected. We're still not able to reliably reproduce it on our end despite maximum resource thrown at it, but we are able to get it to occur and collect data from the servers we have hosted now.

Developing games are a lot more complicated than you realize, I understand that bugs, downtimes etc. can be frustrated - I play games too and obviously no one wants their work to be seen in this way so the team is doing their best to resolve things as quickly as possible.

people you need to understand, that even if WC would test every major or DLC release for weeks (let's say a few thousand hours across every platform), the first 3 hours over official tests more, since thousands of people play the game....
So it is completely possible, some bugs are not popping up during testing, but only after released....

Please don't hate WC for technical topics you don't really understand...
