How do you know that nobody was affected on your server. The issue is that if someone jumped off your server to a server that was affected then without rolling back your server will screw them over because their character will be removed from the affected server and not added back to your server leaving them without a character and whatever stuff they might have taken with them. A all server rollback will mean all servers go back to a previously working point and will restore everyones stuff to that point

That’s what you are not getting rolling back only affected servers is going to restore those servers back to it’s previous point removing everything someone may have taken to those servers from unaffected servers leaving them without anything. That’s the issue I have currently is that I took my character from the abb (unaffected) I was on to a astra (affected) the astra got rolled back to before my character was on it and has wiped my character from existence because the abb I was on wasn’t rolled back and thus my character is no longer there also because it thinks it’s ment to be on astra a full server rollback will put my character back on abb because that’s where it was before all this started happening

When we buy a game or DLC, we expect to be able to play it. The servers have been inaccessible for three days, and that’s incredibly frustrating. It feels like we paid for something we currently can’t use.

With ARK, it often feels like the player base becomes unofficial beta testers after updates go live. Instead of reacting to broken releases, why not formalize community involvement before updates roll out?

Create an official cross-platform community beta and representation program.
Let players volunteer as representatives and hold elections based on how well they gather feedback and communicate with their communities. Stronger representatives could earn more voting weight or structured input privileges.

As recognition, give them tools to strengthen engagement, such as:
• Hosting dev-supported in-game events
• Access to special event rewards
• Organizing races, arena fights, or tournaments
• Community treasure hunts with clue-based rewards

Let players in both PvE and PvP have meaningful input on buffs and nerfs. These are two very different environments, and balance affects them differently.

PvE players, for example, deal with issues like blocked boss portals or mission spawns that impact entire servers. Structured feedback through elected reps could surface recurring problems early and reduce support ticket overload.

Future updates and balance ideas could be discussed with active representatives who consolidate community feedback. That creates proactive communication instead of reactive damage control.

Despite lag and disconnects, we’re still here. When a new DLC drops, we buy it. That loyalty shouldn’t be taken for granted.

After three days of MS downtime, we just want stability, communication, and proof that loyalty goes both ways.

The issue isn't exclusive to Astraeos - it just became uncovered with this release - it's not actually a map related issue but our investigation points us towards some cases of corrupted Dino data on the servers.

A really rough-high level explanation for this, from me (non-engineer) is: In these cases, the Dinos are often destroyed but the server still thinks they're there and is attempting to do things with them or save with that corrupt data, causing crashes/corruption. We're cleaning up the logic so that the server can correctly identify these cases.

The reason this is being uncovered now seemingly related to some optimization code that went live a few weeks ago cleaning up some cases of Dino AI (you know, how Dinos know when to move, eat, attack -- essentially their brain) remaining on the server when it shouldn't be; what we haven't quite figured out yet is why it's appearing now and not when this went live back then, though we'll uncover that as we keep working through this process.

Kinda like we're being haunted by Ghost-Dinos and now we're getting rid of them.

I'm afraid I don't have one, as we're still in diagnostics and test mode. Optimistically? Probably about 3 hours but I suspect it might be a bit more than that cause these things are trickier than they appear. Even though we've identified the area of code where the issue is happening, they're not always straight forward to resolve but this test we're conducting now should give us some good data (within the next 30 - 60 minutes), and if we're lucky we might be good to move forward w/ it network wide.
